“That will teach you for going out in the snow with no coat or foot wear”
I rolled my eyes at Daryl’s comment and continue to shiver. He had piled loads of blankets on me but I was still ice cold and when I started sneezing he looks panicked. He holds the back of his hand against my head and I watch as his eyes glaze over.
“Why didn’t you listen to Jordan?”, Again, I don’t answer him and he sighs “I will not take much more of this”
“You going to mark me again?” I manage to get the words out between chattering teeth and I can see the recognition on his face when he makes the connection. I had woken up and he wasn’t there again.
“Ashley, we have been through this. Are you determined to stay injured?”
Turning my face away from him and closing my eyes, I didn’t hear the Doctor come in and when his hand touched my face, I jumped, smacking his hand away.

“Are you waking up today?” Daryl’s voice was loud and clear but I pull the covers up over my head, hiding myself from him whilst keeping my eyes tightly closed. Paige tells me that I was grieving for what I could have had, she also tells me she has been working on undoing the curse for nearly a decade and she feels she is getting closer. The women from Tana’s pack were forced to join Daryl’s and any who didn't, risked their lives as they tried to flee, but as they registered me as his mate, the person they called a princess, they all took an oath to accept Daryl as their Alpha. The rest of the car ride was uneventful and for that I was grateful.
