I laughed remembering Lane’s offer yesterday. I shook my head as I turned off the shower. I finished taking a bath and even the interior of the bathroom looked like one of those in a five-star hotel.Of course, I laughed so hard that day that he left this room without any information from me. But after all the laughter and giggles, I felt cold. It made me wonder why he wanted me to be his Luna.Is the pill not working anymore? I eyed my body in front of the mirror. I looked for a possible mark but there was none.“Chill. He’s just joking yesterday.”As much as I want it out of my mind, I can’t stop thinking if he noticed me as a mate. I’m sure that no Marking happened between us. Then my face heated thinking about his offer. I wrapped my body with a small towel and went outside of the room.I stopped from my tracks when I saw Lane sitting on my bed watching my every move like a lion staring at its prey.“What the hell?!”Immediately, I covered my body with my arms even when I’m already covered. He diverted his eyes from me and moved away from my bed. I watched him sat on his chair in front of my bed with his head lowered.“I didn’t mean to.”I rolled my eyes and took some of my clothes. I went back to the bathroom and decided to put on some clothes. He could’ve just knocked but of course, I wouldn’t hear him when I’m in the shower. I gritted my teeth as I finished dressing myself and went outside the bathroom.I saw him with his furrowed brows while he’s talking to his phone. As I neared, I heard him.“I’ll be there in a minute. Any causalities?”My brows shot up hearing the word causalities. Then I turned to the window when I heard a loud bang and it followed with guns and screams. My stomach twisted hearing the faint noises outside.“What’s happening?” I asked in a blink. He dropped the call, picked up the papers on the table and sighed as he looked at me.“An attacked is happening now.”I swallowed the lump on my throat.“How bad is it?”“No causalities yet.”“From whom is the attack?” my knees trembled anticipating his answer. He eyed me intently, full of doubt. He had answers in his eyes.“I don’t know yet. Stay here.”Those were his last words before he left the room. I’m left alone now wondering what is happening outside this room. I couldn’t stop thinking about Lane and if he’s alright. My anxiety only rose when I felt the room shake. I remained on my bed stopping myself from going outside when a stray bullet broke a vase in my room. It was so close to me. I could’ve been hit. I rose from bed and cursed realizing I don’t have anything to defend myself. Why is an attack even happening right now? Who attacked? I’m only praying that this has nothing to do with my sisters. I massaged my neck as I heard Werewolves growling, gunshots everywhere, bombs, and worst, machineguns.I had the urge to open the door when suddenly, it slammed opened revealing a bloody Amara. Her head was fool of blood, her arm looked like it got fractured. I can tell the situation outside is hell.“We need you,” she was panting as she dragged me outside of my room.“What the hell is happening?”She gave me her gun. My eyes roamed around and I saw three guards guarding the door of my room. Amara gave them her bloodshot eyes.“Go now!” she ordered the body guards. They looked at me hesitantly before running through the hallway.“Lane said there was an attack? What is happening?”“I want you to put this in your damn head. You’re under our roof, our protection, that means, you will be in our side. If I see you siding with the attacker, I’ll shoot your head.”“Witches?” I asked nervously. She knew what my question was about. I already have a hint that this attack is from the Witches. I could sense a powerful aroma of overflowing powers. She paused for a while then nodded. My shoulders dropped. Now, the only thing I can hope for is that my sisters are not involved with any of this attack. I don’t know who would attack this pack to the point of destroying the premises.“We’re not outnumbered but they’re Warrior Witches. They can kill anyone in their radius. We’re going to evacuate because our numbers are decreasing.”Shit. It means they have already taken some lives. I followed her as she headed to the stairs near the entrance of the manor. There were broken glasses, blood, and dead bodies everywhere. These bodies aren’t even one of those Warrior Witches.I looked away from the cold bodies. Guilt ran through me now that I’m in the point of view of a victim. This is my job. I kill and they pay me.“Follow behind me. Shoot when necessary. As much as possible, don’t die or Lane will kill me.”I didn’t understand what she meant by the last sentence but my body was on full defense mode. As soon as we were in the entrance, rain of bullets aimed at us. I ran to the nearest sofa to have some shield.I have been on the organization for sixteen years. In those years, I have mastered the moves and strategies of a Warrior Witch. I crawled to the stairs and hid under it. In my view, I already saw Witches and Wolves fighting.I aimed my gun. It felt so against my identity to aim my gun at a Warrior Witch. But after seeing the dead bodies of children, women and elderlies, I had the strength to pull the trigger.1…2…3…3 Witches down. They noticed that the bullets came from the stairs so I had to hurriedly crawl away. It led me to a big living room where I saw Lane fighting with two Warrior Witches. It amazed me how he’s still alive despite facing two deadly Witches.I looked at my ammo and only two bullets left. Great. Amara didn’t give me a full loaded gun. Two bullets for these two Witches. I moved to the broken forty-eight-inch television. I lowered my body just enough to be hidden.I rested my back on the television. My hand reached for the shattered mirror. More bullets aimed at me that I had to run to another corner. I winced when I felt a bullet hit my thigh. I fell on the floor. I looked around to see if anyone saw me.I hurriedly crawled my way under a sturdy table. I can still walk in this condition. I have two bullets left. I can still use it. My eyes wandered around, looking for Lane. I sighed heavily as I realized I’m just two meters away from him. He’s still fighting with the Warrior Witches. With my trembling hands, I aimed my gun on the Witches. I bit my lips as I pulled the trigger shooting two of the Witches.I sighed in relief when I saw them lying on the ground. I didn’t kill them but if they won’t get aid within three hours, they’re good as dead.I thought I saved Lane. But I didn’t even realize that another Witch is aiming an arrow at him. Just on the far-right corner, at the stairs, I saw Vicki, my sister, aiming an arrow, most probably with poison, on Lane.I didn’t know what was happening but my body moved instinctively. I stood up in a millisecond. I sprinted the distance from the table to Lane. And the next thing I knew, I felt an arrow pierced into my body. My breathing hitched and all I could see was Lane and his pitch-black eyes full of worry. My body weaken as I felt the poison spreading in my veins. I gasped for air but the world suddenly felt unreal, void of air. My fingers dug deep into his arms as my eyelids felt heavy. I tried fighting the sleepiness but I couldn’t.“Sette!” I heard Lane before darkness filled me.Like Moth Following the FlameI rested my back on the headboard of the bed. I let the doctors examine me as my head remained lowered. My eyes were fixed on my fidgeting fingers. I just woke up after the attack. After Vicki shot me. And I… saved Lane. It’s still a big question in my head that I saved Lane. I came here for his death but why on earth did I thought of saving him? I never had the guts to raise my head until I felt a familiar presence enter the room. I slowly raised my gaze to confirm the assumption in my head. I froze the moment I saw Vicki. I swallowed the lump on my throat as I followed her every move. She’s dressed in a nurse’s uniform and naturally attended to the doctors as she carried a platter of medicine. And just behind Vicki, a saw a pair of cold and intriguing eyes. I hitched my breath as I stared at Lane’s deep eyes. I couldn’t even last more than five seconds adoring his eyes when I looked away. I felt the shivers on my spine with just that cold look of Lan
Confusing HeartMy back felt the soft mattress as Lane pinned me on the bed. I couldn't care less of what was happening around me anymore. How is my marking gone suddenly? How am I giving in this quickly? My body was just to fixated to his kisses that sent shivers on my spine. A moan just escaped from my lips when I felt his hand cupped my breast gently. My breathing ragged mountains as I felt the touch of his hand slowly approaching my wet folds. I didn't even know my jeans were already unzipped! And like a moth following the flame, I didn't care is I was burning with his every touch. I didn't care at all! I just kissed back and touch him all over his body. My hand travelled to his shirt. I didn't like the way our clothes were separating our skin. I want to feel him. I want feel his warmth and just be filled with him. "Slowly," he chuckled. My fingers were already shaking from unbuttoning his jeans. My patience were slowly ripping second by second. I didn't even realize he was
Cursed DreamThis shouldn't be a question at all! Putting me to the battle field? Letting me touch a weapon when they accused me of killing Lane which is kinda true. If they let me outside of my room, go to the war, defend, I might just kill Lane. But of course, the only reason why I'm not going outside of my room was just to avoid him. I don't know if the pill was not working anymore but... I'm feeling something I shouldn't be feeling. I diverted my eyes from Lane when I felt his hot gaze burning me. "Convince me all you want but I'm not going anywhere out of this room," I started. Silence remained in the room. It was the awkward silence that I don't want to experience. "Okay. Amara, can you leave us for a moment?" My eyes widened at Lane's words. "You can't c-convince me, Lane," my voice broke. I'm suddenly feeling the chills with the idea of me and Lane, alone in one room. "I'll just leave.""Amara," my voice raised. She looked at me with questions in her eyes. She's getti
“Take my hand.”I looked at Lane’s relaxed hand as it reached out to me. I just shook my head and boarded the ship. I saw Amara smirked when I got inside in one of the cabins.I didn’t know that to go to the battle grounds, we needed to take a ship. Just outside the main base was already a wreck and to know that the real war happening is just on another island makes me think that I should prepare for the worse. My eyes took a glance at Lane. I caught him looking at me but he eventually cut the eye contact. He cleared his throat and I watched how his adams apple followed his hard swallow.“We’ll arrive there around three in the afternoon. I’ll just brief you first before I put you in the grounds.”I nodded.“I thought I was gonna do the briefing?” Amara asked.Lane looked like he just realized something. After a while, he just nodded slowly.“Sure,” he said before leaving the cabin. My lips pouted. He seems weird. I turned to Amara and saw her smiling at the door where Lane left. I sta
Explosion Lane called for someone from his men earlier. He had his forehead creased and brows furrowed as he discussed something with that man. I bit the insides of my cheeks.I couldn’t understand myself. So, what? So, what if he doesn’t want to brief me? Do I have to feel this way? I get that he wants to lose his interest in me but I just feel so bothered by it when I shouldn’t be.I waited for their conversation to finish. When I saw the other guy leave the room, I looked at Lane confusingly. He sighed heavily before he spoke.“I’ll brief you. Follow me.”I just pursed my lips. do I have to complain? If I would, it would only extend my stay here. I watched his broad shoulders as I followed him. He gave me gears. He handed me a bulletproof vest before we entered an elevator.I silently stood beside him. My eyes then slowly looked at his reflection on the elevator. His were straight and not even budging to look at me. I sighed inwardly and just waited for the elevator to reach the r
Fragile HeartsI tried to rush out off the ship but Amara pulled me back. My mind just got clouded with the bombs and explosion I’m hearing right now. I turned to Amara and I’m reading her lips because I couldn’t hear every word she said.My breathing ragged every second. I shook my head slowly, not processing what Amara is saying.“Sette! Sette! Sette! Listen to me.”“A-Amara… Lane… Lane…”“Calm down, okay? They’re fine. Nobody is hurt, okay?”I nodded when and closed my eyes tightly. I feel my blood rushing out of me. I feel my body heating up and the pain in my thigh is starting to weaken me.“We n-need to go back,” I hugged Amara when I felt my body giving up.“Yes, we go back.”“To L-Lane…”Amara brushed my back gently as I continued to catch for air.“No. It’s not safe.”“But—”“We need to go b-back. Please…”“Hush…”When we clasped from our hug and the moment Amara saw my pale face, she gasped. My vision started to get distorted and I couldn’t see clearly anymore. My mouth ran
Incredible The blood I tasted from his bleeding lips lighted the fire in my body. My hands were messing his hair as I dived in deeper with the kisses. I felt Lane’s fingers playing with my beads making my breathing faster than it should be. I stretched my neck so he could have more access to it. He started to plant hot kisses on my skin. I bit my lower lip and shut my eyes close as his lips lowered to my chest. When I took a peak at him, I saw the hem of my t-shirt already raised up to my chest. My bra was already loose and all of those, I didn’t realize. I was busy kissing him, tasting every bit of him. My eyes sent shivers to my spine when I saw him nibbled at my peaks. My back arched perfectly as he raised me more easily so he could have an easier access to my breast. His tongue glided smoothly on my nipples. I pursed my lips, trying to stop a moan. I bit my lip as I fought the urge to moan but when I felt his bite on my nipple and his finger stroking my other nipple, I lost al
GhostMy head turned to the man just sleeping beside me. I can’t help but be in trance looking at him. He peacefully slept. He snored a bit but it didn’t bother me that much. After a moment, I sighed heavily and looked away.I shouldn’t be doing this. I bit my lip and got out of bed. I picked up my clothes, scattered on the floor. The memories of last night is still fresh. His touch and kisses felt like it never left my skin, my system. It made a mark that even having a cold shower, I couldn’t erase it.I turned off the shower when I felt the cold water harsh on my skin. A long sigh escaped my lips as I picked up the towel and wrapped it around my body.I opened the bathroom door only to have the best view of my empty bed. I blinked a couple of times to see if I’m really seeing what I’m seeing. He’s gone.He left… just… like… that. I swallowed the lump on my throat and looked around my room. His clothes where I placed on the bed was gone. i gritted my teeth when I felt the urge to cal
