I laughed remembering Lane’s offer yesterday. I shook my head as I turned off the shower. I finished taking a bath and even the interior of the bathroom looked like one of those in a five-star hotel.Of course, I laughed so hard that day that he left this room without any information from me. But after all the laughter and giggles, I felt cold. It made me wonder why he wanted me to be his Luna.Is the pill not working anymore? I eyed my body in front of the mirror. I looked for a possible mark but there was none.“Chill. He’s just joking yesterday.”As much as I want it out of my mind, I can’t stop thinking if he noticed me as a mate. I’m sure that no Marking happened between us. Then my face heated thinking about his offer. I wrapped my body with a small towel and went outside of the room.I stopped from my tracks when I saw Lane sitting on my bed watching my every move like a lion staring at its prey.“What the hell?!”Immediately, I covered my body with my arms even when I’m already covered. He diverted his eyes from me and moved away from my bed. I watched him sat on his chair in front of my bed with his head lowered.“I didn’t mean to.”I rolled my eyes and took some of my clothes. I went back to the bathroom and decided to put on some clothes. He could’ve just knocked but of course, I wouldn’t hear him when I’m in the shower. I gritted my teeth as I finished dressing myself and went outside the bathroom.I saw him with his furrowed brows while he’s talking to his phone. As I neared, I heard him.“I’ll be there in a minute. Any causalities?”My brows shot up hearing the word causalities. Then I turned to the window when I heard a loud bang and it followed with guns and screams. My stomach twisted hearing the faint noises outside.“What’s happening?” I asked in a blink. He dropped the call, picked up the papers on the table and sighed as he looked at me.“An attacked is happening now.”I swallowed the lump on my throat.“How bad is it?”“No causalities yet.”“From whom is the attack?” my knees trembled anticipating his answer. He eyed me intently, full of doubt. He had answers in his eyes.“I don’t know yet. Stay here.”Those were his last words before he left the room. I’m left alone now wondering what is happening outside this room. I couldn’t stop thinking about Lane and if he’s alright. My anxiety only rose when I felt the room shake. I remained on my bed stopping myself from going outside when a stray bullet broke a vase in my room. It was so close to me. I could’ve been hit. I rose from bed and cursed realizing I don’t have anything to defend myself. Why is an attack even happening right now? Who attacked? I’m only praying that this has nothing to do with my sisters. I massaged my neck as I heard Werewolves growling, gunshots everywhere, bombs, and worst, machineguns.I had the urge to open the door when suddenly, it slammed opened revealing a bloody Amara. Her head was fool of blood, her arm looked like it got fractured. I can tell the situation outside is hell.“We need you,” she was panting as she dragged me outside of my room.“What the hell is happening?”She gave me her gun. My eyes roamed around and I saw three guards guarding the door of my room. Amara gave them her bloodshot eyes.“Go now!” she ordered the body guards. They looked at me hesitantly before running through the hallway.“Lane said there was an attack? What is happening?”“I want you to put this in your damn head. You’re under our roof, our protection, that means, you will be in our side. If I see you siding with the attacker, I’ll shoot your head.”“Witches?” I asked nervously. She knew what my question was about. I already have a hint that this attack is from the Witches. I could sense a powerful aroma of overflowing powers. She paused for a while then nodded. My shoulders dropped. Now, the only thing I can hope for is that my sisters are not involved with any of this attack. I don’t know who would attack this pack to the point of destroying the premises.“We’re not outnumbered but they’re Warrior Witches. They can kill anyone in their radius. We’re going to evacuate because our numbers are decreasing.”Shit. It means they have already taken some lives. I followed her as she headed to the stairs near the entrance of the manor. There were broken glasses, blood, and dead bodies everywhere. These bodies aren’t even one of those Warrior Witches.I looked away from the cold bodies. Guilt ran through me now that I’m in the point of view of a victim. This is my job. I kill and they pay me.“Follow behind me. Shoot when necessary. As much as possible, don’t die or Lane will kill me.”I didn’t understand what she meant by the last sentence but my body was on full defense mode. As soon as we were in the entrance, rain of bullets aimed at us. I ran to the nearest sofa to have some shield.I have been on the organization for sixteen years. In those years, I have mastered the moves and strategies of a Warrior Witch. I crawled to the stairs and hid under it. In my view, I already saw Witches and Wolves fighting.I aimed my gun. It felt so against my identity to aim my gun at a Warrior Witch. But after seeing the dead bodies of children, women and elderlies, I had the strength to pull the trigger.1…2…3…3 Witches down. They noticed that the bullets came from the stairs so I had to hurriedly crawl away. It led me to a big living room where I saw Lane fighting with two Warrior Witches. It amazed me how he’s still alive despite facing two deadly Witches.I looked at my ammo and only two bullets left. Great. Amara didn’t give me a full loaded gun. Two bullets for these two Witches. I moved to the broken forty-eight-inch television. I lowered my body just enough to be hidden.I rested my back on the television. My hand reached for the shattered mirror. More bullets aimed at me that I had to run to another corner. I winced when I felt a bullet hit my thigh. I fell on the floor. I looked around to see if anyone saw me.I hurriedly crawled my way under a sturdy table. I can still walk in this condition. I have two bullets left. I can still use it. My eyes wandered around, looking for Lane. I sighed heavily as I realized I’m just two meters away from him. He’s still fighting with the Warrior Witches. With my trembling hands, I aimed my gun on the Witches. I bit my lips as I pulled the trigger shooting two of the Witches.I sighed in relief when I saw them lying on the ground. I didn’t kill them but if they won’t get aid within three hours, they’re good as dead.I thought I saved Lane. But I didn’t even realize that another Witch is aiming an arrow at him. Just on the far-right corner, at the stairs, I saw Vicki, my sister, aiming an arrow, most probably with poison, on Lane.I didn’t know what was happening but my body moved instinctively. I stood up in a millisecond. I sprinted the distance from the table to Lane. And the next thing I knew, I felt an arrow pierced into my body. My breathing hitched and all I could see was Lane and his pitch-black eyes full of worry. My body weaken as I felt the poison spreading in my veins. I gasped for air but the world suddenly felt unreal, void of air. My fingers dug deep into his arms as my eyelids felt heavy. I tried fighting the sleepiness but I couldn’t.“Sette!” I heard Lane before darkness filled me.Last KissesChapter 21I looked down at my hand, intertwined with Lane’s. My eyes stared at it for longer than I could realize. My mind is still digesting everything. I bit my lip as my gaze rose to Lane’s side. He looks happy, but the veins popping out of his head were evident for me to say that he’s been stressed. I still have no idea where he is taking me. I followed him as he guided me. A smile made way on my lips. I’m his Luna. His mate.I know I came here for his death… But… I am now taking a leap of faith. Now, I want every piece of him. I want him for myself. I can’t believe that he actually chose me. We’re now back at the headquarters. We stopped in front of a big oak door. He slowly opened it. My eyes glistened at what I saw. Inside the room revealed a glowing garden. Flowers were shimmering despite daylight. I moved closer to a red rose glowing in gold. I touched its petals as my fingers travelled down to its thorns.“Careful, the thorns sting,” I heard him whisper on m
YoursMy fingers traced every petal on the bathtub I’m in. It’s been an hour since my body is soaked on milk. The petals are turning pale, especially with the milk it floated on. I rested my head and noticed Jillian poured more milk on my hair. Jillian, Maurice, and Rimel surrounded me. They have assisted me with anything that I have been doing since the past three days. I don’t know if I should be thankful or annoyed. Surely. I had a ton of maids at the manor, but we all had privacy. This seems… I looked at Maurice, scrubbing my legs. Rimel is busy with preparing my clothes. Jillian poured more milk on me. I sighed heavily. “Is there something wrong, my Lady?” Maurice paused and asked. I pulled my leg from her and took the towel myself. I immediately sensed their urgency in helping me.“I think I’m finished with my bath.”I hurriedly went out of the bathtub, but they were fast, too. Before I could pick up clothes, Rimel already had it in her hands. She’s the older one among the
As One“Lane, what are you doing here? You should be resting in your chambers,” Ashmita’s voice was shaking in fear.“What you are doing is treason!” I snapped back from my thoughts when I heard Lane’s voice thunder in the room. My eyes looked up at Ashmita’s helpless composure. Then my gaze traveled to Lane just behind Ashmita. All I could see was half his face. But even just half of it, I could feel the rage burning in his eyes. I gripped tightly on my chair as I thought of a way to escape, but I was hopeless too. “What do you mean? She harmed you! It is treason to kill the Alpha!” “And killing the Luna isn’t?” Silence invaded darkness and every corner of the room. It finally processed in my mind that Lane performed the ritual without my knowledge. But why would he? Why would he give me his essence while he sucked for my blood? I looked down on my wrist. There wasn’t any evident mark, but realization sunk into me when I saw the unhealed wound. I might be a witch without any po
Survived Are my eyes closed? Everything was pitch black, I might think my eyes are closed. Silence stretched from every corner. I could hearmy sweat falling from my forehead down to the cold floor. My hard breathing was too evident. And no matter which direction my head would look, there was nothing but darkness. I can’t even sense anyone in the same room as me. But despite all the darkness invading me right now, only one person would stay in my mind. Lane…He must be alright. Now that he’s in better hands. My sigh echoed through the walls as relief poured through me. But my relief only lived for a while when I heard the creak of a door that seemed to be in front of me. My eyes closed abruptly when light killed darkness. And when the lights were turned on, the more my face squinted from the sudden light I had to absorb. My eyes slowly adjusted to the light. I blinked a couple times before I settled my gaze at the woman in front of me. The corners of her lips curved evilly. She de
Love The royal blue color of the waters was painted with blood as I searched for Lane. I saw my pruned fingers but never minded it. My mind only spiraled looking around for Lane. I can never find peace if I can’t find him. I worked hard being on top of my game as a Warrior Witch in our organization. It only proved that I don’t need powers to be the best of the rest. But there will be days. Inevitable days where I feel the need to have powers.Where I curse the heavens for not blessing me one. What sin did I commit? What law did my family disobey for me and my sisters to suffer this fate?! When I almost slipped away from the hope I was holding on to, I finally saw Lane. He was wrapped around the seaweed. I swam as fast as I could. When my hand touched his cold palm, I hugged him tight like it could be our last. I pulled the pocket knife from one of my pockets as I free Lane from every hold the seaweed had of him. I felt myself losing air, but just in time, I was able to rise to the
ShotGunshots echoed inside the mall. Amara chanted a spell and in a minute a bubble surrounded us, protecting us from the bullets. It made me thought of myself. If only I was an ordinary Witch. "We need to move fast. My spell won't last long." We ran like our life meant on it. Well, it does. We were about to exit the mall when an explosion happened at the exit. Debris fell, blocking the way outside. Amara and I looked at each other. We have the same thoughts in our mind but..."They're too many!" She shook her head. We ran to a safer place as she casted a spell. I saw her release small bubbles, in the shape of a bullet. When I saw her loading it to her gun, I immediatley know what her powers were. "You're a shield." She gave me her bubbles. I did the same thing, loaded it to my guns. "What am I supposed to do with this bubbles?" "It will shield them from us. If they shoot, the bullets will come back for them." The idea made me excited. The bullets are slowly getting in our di
