Chapter 3 Treaty

It had been nearly a week since the former king had passed. Ashton had taken his place on the throne despite constantly rejecting the idea of ruling the entire realm. He was to be the youngest king to ever sit on the throne and the youngest to ever sign a peace treaty. A private room had been set up for the signing, only to be guarded from the outside. No one was the be allowed in but the two kings, much to Ashton's dismay and protest.

Only hours before the Demon king would arrive, the angel sat in worry inside the private room, fiddling with everything.

"Why.... why do I have to be the one to do this? I was never trained on this. Nobody told me anything." He paced nervously around the room till the time had come. A guard came in to let him know that his company had arrived before leaving to let them in.

Moments later, the king in question entered the room, a smirk pulling at his lips to reveal his ever so sharp fangs. "Well well. If it isn't the prince I never had the pleasure of meeting." His hand held outstretched. Ashton shook his hand reluctantly, eyeing the male carefully.

"Damien and you are?" The Demon's voice as sultry as before. The angel breathed deeply before answering. "Ashton. I'm aware you're here to negotiate the new treaty?" A deep chuckle escaped the other male's lips. "Oh right to business and no fun I see? What a shame. Such a waste." His words causing a light blush to form on Ashton's otherwise ivory skin.

After some deliberation and the angel fighting to keep the conversation on track, they had eventually come to an agreement, no different than the original. Damien seemingly pleased despite there being nothing extra in it for him. That was until the moment Ashton was signing the papers. A hand gently pulled up his chin to face the demon, almost caressing his skin with the light touch. "Shame that you haven't taken a bride. Why is that? Is there something you haven't told anyone?" His voice deeper than before, but nearly a whisper as he had closed much of the distance between the two. The Angel's eyes widened in surprise. "That's... none of your business." His voice nearly cracking. The other male's fingers were warm to the touch and with their faces only inches apart, it was nearly impossible for him to think clearly.

"Well if you ever decide it isn't a bride you were wanting.... you know where to find me." Damien smirked and nearly connected their lips, but stopped just before with an appealing chuckle. Ashton couldn't begin to spit out words before the other male left the room with his copy of the treaty, soon to be followed by Matt coming into the room with a concerned look on his face. "Are you okay? He looked way too pleased." He asked quickly.

A bright blush sat on Ashton's cheeks. "Y-yeah it's fine. The treaty is done and over with. We won't need to worry for awhile." His words quick as he got up and left without giving the guard anything else.

Once in his own bedroom, he collapsed on the bed, going over every single word that had been said in that room. "What the hell was he after... I know the rumors were alot but..." He trailed off as he got lost in thought. Something wasn't sitting right, but it wasn't a bad feeling. It was a much different, less familiar feeling to him.

The other king would be on his mind the rest of the day and well into the night. But why? Ashton had never been so interested and flustered by anyone before. He wasn't actually thinking about doing something so rash as to be attracted to a demon right? He shook the thoughts out of his head as he forced himself back to sleep, only to have a much more intimate dream than he was expecting and with the demon king to top it all off.
