Chapter 11

"You and me we made a vow, for better or for worse." I hummed a part from Sam Smith's song, titled 'I'm not the only one' as I thumbed through the documents in my hands.

The Lord knew my body was there, but my mind was far away–occupied with thoughts of my cocky boss. The fact he wasn't bullying me today was surprising. Why did I dislike his sudden coldness? 

I breathed heavily and dropped the documents on my desk. Wasn't it crazy that I actually wanted him to be his egoistical self? I reclined on my seat and fidgeted with a pencil in my hand.

"What happened to you Mitch?" I questioned nobody in particular, staring at my teal colored walls.

I sat up again with my interlocked fingers under my jaw. Glancing at the receiver, there was no call
