My Othet Half.

I entered into the packs ball room to bring out some more food. It was 8pm and the party was in full swing.

I ran into Willow handing out champagne to the guest. I walked up beside her giving her a nudge to get her attention.

Willow jumped back startled when I caught her by the arm so she wouldn’t trip.

When she turned to face me I noticed how frustrated she looked.

“Goddess Star, this night is already horrible. I've been yelled at by several pack members and some weird, old, touchy Alpha who keeps wanting to talk to me alone.

“I’m sorry Willow. It’s because of these slutty maids outfits Cains forcing us to wear. Now we have to worry about unwanted attention all night. What a bunch of entitled flea bags!”

I was angry now, I knew we would be harassed all night with these damn outfits.

Me and Willow looked up hearing Alpha Wade clinking a glass making the party stop.

“Welcome Blazing Moon Pack, as many of you know today is my sons birthday and Alpha ceremony ”

People began clapping while some other pack members were shouting Happy Birthday to Cain.

“Ahm.. yes Happy Birthday son, Well it's my honor to announce your new Alpha, come on over son.’

Cain stood from his chair at the Alpha table. He looked smug as he walked over to his father patting him on the shoulder, whispering something into his ear.

His dad looked angry for a split second before he cooled his features.

“I wonder what that was about.” Willow looked over whispering to me.

Before I could answer someone had walked behind me lightly touching my shoulder.

I quickly looked back when I saw a woman walking away into the crowd. I had never seen before. She had on a long sleeved black dress that went to the floor.

The woman’s hair was pitch black with long wavy curls littering her head. She was extremely pale wearing bright red lipstick.

I gasped when I reached her eyes. They were completely white it was unsettling. The woman was staring back at me with a creepy smile on her face.

“I’m…. Um..not sure, but…”

I couldn’t look away from the woman like she was holding me prisoner with her eyes I could feel this coldness creeping in.

my heart beat felt like it was rising painfully fast. I needed to get Willows attention but I couldn’t move.

Before I could scream out to anyone the woman stopped watching me abruptly.

I held my chest, breathing heavily sacred of whatever just happened.

maybe I was just overreacting I thought, why would that woman bother me anyway I don’t know her.

I worked it up to just my nerves knowing I would be leaving tonight. I looked back at the stage my breath caught as Cain was staring right at me while speaking.

“ Blazing moon, as your new Alpha, the first thing I will be doing is claiming Sarah as my mate, and your Luna! There will be some new pack rules set into place tomorrow morning once the ceremony is finished. I know you guys can't wait to have such a handsome, charming Alpha like me!”

He looked into the crowd, nodding his head towards that creepy woman.

The crowd erupted into cheers and congratulations.

He walked off the stage towards the woman pulling her into the back having some heated conversation.

He was still talking to that woman when Alpha wade walked over to them angry, silently shouting at him, I watched stunned as he stormed off.

This night as beyond weird I thought to myself. The rest of the night was coming to an end.

It was almost 12 and the party had finally died down me and Willow had just finished up cleaning the kitchen.

Willow walked me to my room giving me quick hug goodbye. I promised to call her and Jax when I could.

I hurried into my room, dipping inside to grab my backpack. I looked over at the clock. It was now 12am. It was officially my 18th birthday.

“Happy Birthday Star”, I whispered to myself.

Tonight I would run for as long as I could and try to find somewhere to hide until I could find the small town I would soon call home.

I began walking down the hall quickly making my way down the stairs and towards the back door of the pack house.

Before I reached the door this delicious scent hit me, it smelled like vanilla and lime.

I heard someone whisper, “mate”, but I didn't see anyone.

“Great now I’m really crazy.” I thought out loud to myself. My nerves were making me hear things.

I reached for the door stopping when I heard a furious growl.

I slowly turned, seeing who was there. My face instantly paled.

“Mate.”

Cain looked beyond furious, his eyes switching from his normal blue to black clearly battling for control over his wolf.

“No.. moon goddess please…” I said looking up.

I thought this had to be some cruel joke, I quickly grabbed the knob to the door bolting out of the door it was now or never.

“GET BACK HERE STAR!!!! I COMMAND YOU TO STOP!”

I stopped for a second stunned. He was seething now. I quickly ran towards the trees realizing his command didn’t work on me.

His command should have worked I thought. This had never happened before.

His wolf Hades howled so loud I was scared others would hear him and come running soon.

I was running as fast as I could when I felt something huge flank my side slamming me to the ground. my heart was racing ready to burst from my chest.

Cain morphed back into his human side walking to me.

He yanked my hand hard trying to lift me up but he stopped when sparks erupted from his touch causing us both to gasp.

I yanked my hand away, but he quickly regained his composure grabbing my hand.

“MATE” I heard someone say louder this time making my head hurt.

I used my other hand to hold my head it felt like it was pounding.

“You think you can run, you’re mine to do whatever with now. A new acquaintance of mine told me some interesting things today you see so you won't be going anywhere from now on….ever!”

He stared at me for a few more moments as if he was deep in thought before a slow evil smile crept on his face.

“hmm.. maybe I do have a perfect place for you at my side though. It can be our little secret moon.”

I tried frantically to get away before a thought popped into my head.

“I don't want you Cain…. I, Star whitlock, from the Blazing Moon pack reject…”

Before I could even finish, Cain punched me in the mouth hard, leaving me coughing up blood.

“You aren't worthy enough to be Luna, but you would make for a great slave! And lucky for me having you would keep my wolf stronger having his true mate. Sarah would still be my Luna of course you would just be locked away my love.”

I felt sick. I couldn't believe this was happening, did I do something in my old life to deserve this. I started to sob, I couldn’t hold the tears back any longer.

“You….can't do this Cain, what about Sarah she would feel when you're with me, she’ll hate you.”

“Don't worry about her, she's getting what she wants and so am I, we can all compromise for each other. I have big plans for you Star. I’m going to rule over a strong pack.”

I was still shocked because he never used my real name, I knew he was serious with whatever he had planned.

“Don’t worry mate, I’m not completely evil. I’ll let you stay in your room tonight, besides I have Sarah in my room right now waiting for me to claim her. You’ll have your turn tomorrow, beautiful."

I shook my head frantically as he pulled me up dragging me back to the pack house.

His eyes glazed over so I knew he was mind linking someone.

A few moments later two pack guards stood at my door.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Star, wouldn't want you to slip away again.”

He winked at me, shoving me into my room slamming my door shut.

I waited to hear him disappear before letting the tears fall again.

“Why! Why moon goddess, what did I ever do.”

I shouted to myself. Two hours had passed and I was running out of time. I quickly shot up from my cot when I heard the pack alarms sounding.

What in the moon goddess was going on now I thought.

I strained my ears listening through my door hearing the two guards at my door rushing away.

This was my chance, I got up quickly looking out the door noticing it was clear, I took off down the stairs.

The whole pack house was in chaos, so I quickly slipped out the back door again.

I took off towards the tree line. Growing up I had learned some secret paths through the woods that lead to the border of the pack, so I started down one of the paths.

I had ran for about an hour when I finally made it to the border of the pack.

I slowed down knowing some of the pack warriors would be patrolling the area the alarms had stopped awhile ago but I knew everyone would be on high alert.

It was eerily quiet as I was about to pass over the borders.

Somthing large flanked me to the side and I landed on my back feeling the breath knocked out of me.

I started coughing frantically holding my chest from the pain.

I got up slowly looking around up to see what had hit me when I saw a large brown wolf with red eyes emerge from the bushes.

It was Cain. He shifted back into his human side he looked at me with that same stupid smirk.

“ I knew you would try and run, you’re quite lucky you know, we actually had a little breach at the west boarder. You almost got away.” He laughed.

“Just Let me go Cain… please, you know you don't want me!”

“Oh but I do. You see star, you’re actually pretty special, a little birdie told me a few things about your real parents and some power you may pocess…”

I felt livid in this moment what was he even talking about. Had he gone insane?

“I don't have any power, my parents are dead… please I don't even have a wolf Cain, I’m worthless.”

I started to slowly back away when he pulled something from his back pocket.

He jumped towards me grabbing my arm but I dodged him.

He made a quick jump at me again grabbing my shirt this time he looked into my eyes and stabbed my side with the silver blade.

I screamed out in pain, I was beginning to see black spots in my vision.

he dropped me to the ground hovering over me.

“We could do this the easy way and you just walk back with me Star, but we both know you wouldn’t do that. You’ve always been my little fighter, that’s what I like about you.”

He still held the dagger in his hand bringing it down stabbing me on my other side.

I felt so weak I knew I was going to die, this was it. I began to feel a painful pressure in my head all over again.

“Just hold on a little longer Star.”

Someone said in my mind It felt like time stood still and everything went black around me.

After a few minutes of darkness I woke up in a large green field filled with flowers. I sat up adjusting my eyes seeing a stream. I looked up into the sky it was a beautiful bright blue.

The weather was perfect all around me this didn’t feel real I thougt Was I in heaven?

I started stand to walk around a little when I noticed a large white wolf with striking green eyes, she was beautiful I thought.

I had never seen a white wolf before. She began walking towards me when I heard something in my mind.

“It’s about time we finally met Star. My name's Sage! It's nice to finally meet you, I wish it could have been under better circumstances.”

“What? wolf… I don't have one.”

I had so many emotions running through me it was too much, I couldn’t believe it.

“I’m sorry it took so long to come out. I was dormant. I had to stay hidden. It was the only way to protect you from them.”

“From who? Why? What do they want from me?

She wrapped herself around me lovingly before walking back to face me.

“I don’t have much time left, we can shift and you’ll heal faster, I will warn you it’s going to hurt but I need to take over and get us out of here.”

“ Please don't leave me…I don't know how to shift.”

I was starting to panic I didn’t understand what was happening.

I had been stabbed with silver there is no way I would survive.

“We’ve got this star, I’ll never leave you again, just don't fight me on the shift it's going to hurt.”

Suddenly the beautiful field I was in disappeared and I felt a shift like I was put in the passenger seat of my own mind.

I felt white searing pain erupt through my body, I could feel every bone snapping and readjusting itself.

I saw through my own eyes I was staring at two fluffy white paws. I stood on shaking legs feeling the cool night breeze on my fur.

I couldn’t believe I was a wolf, I looked up at Cain, he stood in front of me still holding the dagger.

I heard myself let out a piercing howl.

he looked shocked before he regained his composure quickly running at me.

Before he could land a blow I ran at him. I could feel my claws begin to lengthen. I jumped onto Cain swiping at his eye drawing blood.

Cain started to howl in pain. I took this opportunity to bite down into his shoulder ripping out chunks.

Blood began spewing everywhere. I rolled off of him quickly standing.

“YOU STUPID BITCH!!!! WHAT DID YOU DO!!!”

Before he could attack me I ran into him so hard I knocked the breath out of him he fell to the ground slowly losing consciousness.

I couldn't even begin to think about what was happening. I was stunned to the spot.

“I’m sorry this will hurt Star, don't try to stop it. We’ve gotta shift now.”

I felt my legs snap and my arms. I cried out in pain before my back made a sickening pop. I crumbled to the floor for a moment taking my time to adjust.

I stood slowly looking down at myself.I was human again and very naked. It was freezing out here.

I didn’t have the chance to breathe as I felt pain all over.

I looked over at Cain crumpled up on the ground. I had to do this quick.

I, Star Whitlock, of the Blazing Moon Paxk reject you Cain Finch. I held my chest feeling like someone was ripping it out, this pain was excruciating.

Sage howled in my head. I could feel her retreat to the back of my mind.

I took off feeling the cold wind rush past me as I began to run for what felt like hours and I was beginning to tire out.

The bleeding seemed to slow down but I was still in a lot of pain, my heart felt like a hole was in it.

Even though I didn’t have any feelings for Cain this was the unfortunate part about the bond.

“Sage are you there.. What should I do.”

Not getting a response from her I was starting to panic.

I started to slow down, seeing a creek nearby. I knew I needed to get something to drink before I became dehydrated. .

Looking down at myself I was covered in blood from being stabbed and there was multiple cuts that littered my body.

The weather was freezing out today I hardly realized because all of the adrenaline running through me.

I didn’t even wear a coat, not that it matters I guess. All my close shredded when I shifted. Now I’m just naked and freezing.

“Just great… I’m pretty sure I lost my backpack as well.”

I sighed sitting on the cold ground, I needed to rest I kept seeing double and I Knew I was going to collapse any second.

I heard branches and twigs snapping somewhere near me, I felt panicked.

Did he already find me? Is it the warriors?

I looked around frantically trying to find the source of that noise when I saw A huge black wolve come out of the bushes lowly growling before I lost consciousness.
