Wolf-less Girl.

It was 8am and I had a little break before it was time to start cleaning the pack house.

Today was Saturday so most of the pack would be out today making it easier to do chores.

I made my way outside into the forest hoping to see my friends.

I spoted them lying underneath our hideout.

There was an old abandoned tree house we had made ours when we were younger.

“Hey star”.

I saw my best friend Willow looking up at me smiling with the sunlight hitting her face.

She really was pretty she had short chocolate brown hair and brown eyes to match, she was pale like me.

I smiled back at her waving.

“Hey you guys, I’m sorry it took so long I was finishing up cleaning”.

“Are you excited for your birthday tonight? You’ll finally get your wolf! I bet she’ll be so beautiful.”

“Thank you willow, I’m just scared, I wish my parents could be here to help me”.

I smiled sadly at them.

“Of course she’ll be beautiful! I mean its Star were talking about here. But seriously, Star If you need someone tonight when you shift, I'll be there”.

I walked over sitting down in the middle of my friends.

“I don’t know Jax, I kinda want to try this alone. I don’t want to get you into trouble”.

I had already seen Jax Wolf. He was brown with little patches of white on his fur, he was on the smaller side since we are omegas.

The biggest wolves were Alphas, the could command you to do anything if you were linked to there pack.

Not only that but as wolves we could mind link each other talking telepathically.

We couldn't start mind linking until we got our wolves though.

“I mean it star, I’ll be there, I don’t care I’ll do anything when it comes to you”.

I knew Jax was serious he always protected me as much as he could.

“Thanks you guys, I mean it. I’m really scared to be honest. I have to sneak out AND be up super early for breakfast duty. I have to make all of cains favorites or I know ill be punished!”

“I can help you with breakfest in the morning if you want i have the day off. I dont really have the money to get you a present but i can atleast do this for you.”

I smiled at my best friend wondering how I got so lucky to have her alteast.

Last time I was late to kitchen duty, Cain decided that he would teach me a lesson at school and threw old milk all over me, that was embarrassing enough. I sighed

Cain is the son of Alpha wade and Luna Athena.

He always picks on me and makes sure I get into trouble even if he was the cause of it.

When we got into middle school it became worse because he started dating the most popular girl at school Sarah.

Wherever Cain went Sarah was always right behind him ready to insult me any chance she got.

She swore to everyone she was going to be the Luna one day.

“Screw Cain he's gonna be the worst alpha. He’s gonna run this pack into the ground even more. Alpha wade is alreadying doing it now.”

I noticed Willow started looking around scared someone would hear our conversation.

“Shhh. Don't be so loud. You’ll get locked up in the cell again Jax.”

I could sense the panic in willows voice.

“willows right Jax you’ve gotta be more careful, what if someone hears you”.

I turned my head quick hearing a twig snap and we all got up quickly. Luna Athena appeared from behind some trees looking angry.

“What are you brats doing outside? Shouldn’t you be cleaning the pack house for Cains birthday and the holiday banquet tomorrow! It isn't gonna clean itself! Unless you wanna be brought to the cells I can arrange that.”

I looked at luna athena angrily.

“We were just taking our break Luna will get back to work soon.” I said with spite in my voice.

Luna athena raised her overly drawn eyebrow at me angery.

“So Star you think you can just sass me now? I’ll mindlink one of the warriors, you can be the first to go...”

She was cut off quickly by jax.

“No Luna we will get to work, I’ll do extra work tonight no pay.”

I looked at jax wanting to protest but he gave me this look.

“That just cost your little friend ALL of his pay today star.”

she smirked at me smug about what she had done.

I was about to argue but She began to walk away.

We started walking back to the pack house and went into the kitchen getting straight to work.

I couldn't help but stop and think about what my wolf would look like, would she like me? It made me even more nervous.

By the time we finished cleaning the pack house and finished making food preparations for tomorrow I noticed it was already 11:50pm.

My birthday would be in 10 minutes which meant I would shift soon.

Jax said he would help me but after the trouble I had gotten him into earlier I knew he still had chores to do.

I wanted to do it on my own no matter how scared I was. I was tired of feeling so weak.

“Well I wanted to wish you a happy birthday Star but I know we’ve got an early start tomorrow and you probably wanna be on your own tonight’.

Willow gave me a tight hug and whispered happy birthday to me before letting me go and walking to her room for the night.

I just wish my parents were here to tell me how proud they were of me, they would get to see my first shift. I sighed.

I ran quickly to my little room, stopping around the corner making sure no one saw me.

I grabbed some loose clothes from my small dresser.

I wouldn't need them to shift but it made me feel more comfortable.

Since we are wolves we don't really care about nudity, but I wasn't about to go around showing everything I had.

I opened the door to my room peaking out making sure no one was around.

I slipped out the door quickly making my way downstairs to the kitchen.

Putting my hand on the door ready to leave I stopped.

I heard someone behind me, I was scared my heart nearly beating out of my chest.

I began to slowly turn to see who was there.

“Cain”.

I had to think of a lie before I was caught..

“and where do you think you’re going moon? Are you sneaking out?”

He smirked at me.

This was my nickname from him which he used to make fun of me.

“I ugh, forgot something outside earlier. I was just going to grab it”.

It was already 11:58 and I had to hurry, if I was quick I could still make it to the tree line and shift.

“You see moon I just don’t believe you. You seem to forget, I am the alpha and I need to know where all of my pack members are”.

He just stood there smirking at me knowing this angerd me.

I tried moving out of the way hoping to run past him but Cain grabbed me by my arm and pushed me to the ground.

“Come on moon, You didn't think I would forget your birthday. Happy Birthday! Aren’t you going to say it back? We do share the same birthday after all.”

He laughed at me like this was a joke to him.

It was 12:01 and nothing was happening. This is weird. Where is my wolf?

“Come on now, shift! Where's your wolf? I can already feel mine”.

As time was ticking by, Cain was holding me captive there on the floor with his pointless questions.

I was becoming even more worried, shouldn’t somthing be happening by now I thought.

“Wow. You really are just a weak wolf-less omega. I guess even the moon goddess didnt wanna give a weakling like you a wolf.”

Cain began to laugh disappearing out the door, stopping in his tracks he turned and looked at me.

“I already got my wolf. I just need to go shift now. His name's Hades!” He said

He continued outside into the forest.

After what felt like hours, I still couldn't feel my wolf or hear her.

I was beginning to give up, lifting myself off of the cold floor. I dragged myself to my little room and layed on the cot just wanting to sleep.
