Rhett's POV

I sat back in the leather seat of the car, the faint hum of the engine blending with the low murmur of city sounds outside. The night still smelled of smoke, perfume, and wealth from the event we had just closed. My jacket collar carried traces of it—too much handshaking, too many deals sealed under false smiles. My fingers pressed lightly against my temple, the beginnings of a headache creeping in. Declan sat quietly to my left, his usual restlessness absent for once, his gaze fixed outside the tinted window. Nikolai was opposite me, his posture sharp as always, his eyes scanning everything and nothing at the same time.

We’d barely gone two blocks when Nikolai cleared his throat. His voice, calm but steady, filled the cabin.

“I handed the assassins I caught earlier over to the security guard. They should already be working to trace who paid them. If things go well, we’ll have a lead by dawn.”

I shifted, my eyes narrowing slightly. “You caught them yourself?”

“Yes,”

Nikolai's POV When I woke up, the first thing I felt was warmth. It spread across the sheets, a soft kind of comfort that didn’t belong in my life most days. The second thing I noticed was the slow, steady rhythm of breathing beside me. I turned my head slightly, and there he was. Killian. His hair was a tangled mess against the pillow, his face calm in a way I hadn’t seen in too long. For a moment, I just looked at him. The way his chest rose and fell. The faint movement of his lips as he murmured something in his sleep. I smiled without meaning to. My hand moved on its own, fingers tracing the sharp line of his jaw. His skin was warm, softer than I remembered. I stopped at the curve of his neck and felt his pulse under my fingertips, strong and alive. That alone was enough to make my chest tighten. I leaned closer until my breath brushed against his skin. The temptation was there, familiar and dangerous. I could taste the air between us, the faint scent of him that always manag

Colt's POV I was deep in sleep when I felt someone shaking me hard. My body jerked, my mind slow to catch up with what was happening. I blinked a few times, still half lost in the fog of dreams, and then heard a voice that made me sit up straight. “Colt, wake up. You need to wake up right now.” It was Marcus, my closest friend and the only person who knew exactly where I had been hiding these past few weeks. His face was pale, his eyes wide with fear. I rubbed my eyes and frowned. “What the hell, Marcus? What time is it?” He ignored the question. “There are people from the packhouse outside. They’re demanding you come out.” My chest tightened. “What?” He nodded quickly, his voice shaking. “They said they’re here to bring you back. They’re serious, Colt. They look armed. If you don’t open the door soon, they’ll break it down.” I swung my legs out of bed, my heart pounding harder than it had in weeks. The small cabin we were in suddenly felt smaller. “Did they say who sent them?

Declan's POV The sound of the door opening pulled me out of a light sleep. My body was still weak, and my head felt heavy from the medication. I blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the light coming in from the hallway. The doctor stepped inside, holding a clipboard and wearing the same expression he always did—calm, unreadable, distant. “Declan,” he said quietly, “Alpha Rhett has ordered your discharge. You’re to leave the medical wing within the hour. Guards will come to escort you.” His words took a second to settle. I pushed myself up slowly, my arms protesting at the movement. “He ordered it?” “Yes,” the doctor replied, his tone flat. “He said you’re well enough to recover at home. Your personal belongings have already been packed.” I nodded slowly, though my chest tightened. I could tell this wasn’t the doctor’s choice. Rhett’s orders rarely left room for argument. “I see,” I said. The doctor gave a short nod and turned toward the door. Before he left, he glanced back

Nikolai's POV By the time I left Rhett’s office, I could feel the anger burning under my skin like wildfire. My steps echoed through the hall, steady but heavy, each one fueled by the rage I could no longer contain. My wolf stirred restlessly inside me, growling low, whispering things I was trying hard not to listen to. It wanted out. It wanted to tear through walls, to hunt, to remind everyone that I was not made to be questioned. The moment I reached the outer corridor, I clenched my fists until my knuckles whitened. I could still hear Rhett’s voice in my head, calm and controlled even when everything around him was falling apart. He had become so wrapped up in his emotions that logic no longer existed for him. Every decision he made now was filtered through the fog of guilt and misplaced loyalty. By the time I reached my quarter, I had lost all patience. The guards stationed at the door saw my face and wisely stepped aside without a word. The scent of blood and incense lingered

Rhett's POV I sat at the edge of my bed long after the morning bell had rung, my mind heavy with thoughts that refused to settle. The scent of blood still lingered in the corners of my memory, faint but sharp enough to remind me of how close I had come to losing everything. My body ached with every breath, but the pain was bearable compared to the silence that now filled the packhouse. The hallways outside my room were quieter than usual, stripped of the laughter and the steady rhythm of daily life. It felt like grief had seeped into the walls, and I was the one who had painted it there. I rang the small bell beside me and one of the guards entered immediately. His expression was careful, almost fearful. Maybe they all thought I had gone too far, locking up my beta and driving away my gamma. Maybe they were right. "Send for Nikolai," I said, my voice rough. "Tell him I want him in my study at once. And have one of the maids bring me my black tea." The guard bowed quickly and left.

Third person POV Killian opened his eyes to a blinding light that burned his vision. The ground beneath him was soft, the scent of soil and flowers heavy in the air. When the haze cleared, he found himself lying in the middle of a vast garden. It stretched endlessly in every direction, filled with flowers of every color imaginable. Each petal shimmered faintly as though coated with dew, but the air was dry and still. He pushed himself up slowly, his body aching with confusion. The last thing he remembered was Nikolai’s face, the sound of his name being called, and then darkness swallowing him whole. Now he stood in a place that felt alive yet wrong. The silence pressed against his ears until it became almost unbearable. He took a step forward. The soft earth shifted beneath his boots. A gentle wind whispered through the garden, carrying faint sounds like laughter and sobs tangled together. He frowned, turning slowly, searching for the source, but saw nothing but endless rows of bl
