Serra glanced at Mira and found her smiling. She came to her friend.
"That was fun" Mira smiled.
"I remembered watching your father doing this," Serra said. "It looks easy when you're only watching" she chuckled.
Mira only smiled faintly, her eyes became sad as she remembers her parents. Serra bit her lips and feel sorry. Sometimes she hates herself for that, speaking without thinking.
"You may now rest chosen one" Gwyn came to Serra. Her skin sizzled with sweat. "Thank you".
Serra gave her a hopeful smile and nodded. Then they stalked out from the blacksmith house.

Sirka Village (few months ago)..."Look!" Serra pointed above. "A bird. Can you see that?"Haris laughs and stared at the bird-shaped clouds that floats in the sky."Yes. Haha. And there!" he pointed beside the bird-shaped cloud. "That's a weird shape. It looks like a dog cut into pieces".They both laughed. They were lying down on the grass, watching the infinite blue sky. The tall tree gave them shade and the pleasant sound of the river near them was solemn and placid.Serra just finished working at the fields and Haris took a quick break from the construction. Mira was in their cabin, resting because she's not feeling well.
"I only loved Mira because you asked me to! I tried to love her but it was always you my heart wants. I only agreed because I love you and I will do everything to make you happy even if it means hurting myself. But this has to stop Serra".The world suddenly shuts and all she could feel was pain. No, it wasn't pain. It was worse than pain, even worse than death. The words were like poisoned arrows, hitting her hard on the chest.Haris was crying while he was saying those words to Serra. His tone was serious and deep. He never heard Haris talked so serious before, until now.Mira's body became numb. She can't feel herself. She didn't notice the big drops of tears streaking down on her cheeks. She could hear the loud beat of heart and her ragged breathing. A lump rises on her throat as t
Serra was walking alone, kicking some rocks on her path. She never felt this lonely before. Now, it's like the world turned away from her also. It's been two days since Mira avoided her. She never talked to her or even took at glance at Serra. It made Serra feel like a dust floating in the air. What could she do, she deserves it.She attempted many times to try and talk to her but Mira would always walk away.It was painful. It was a torture. She spent the two days crying in regret and self blaming. The others of course noticed and it shocked them but good thing they never asked why.Mira stayed with Nysel's cabin and Rena came with her. It's only been two days yet it felt like years
They immediately climbed down and ran towards the Captain's house. Sisi stopped by on the boy's cabin to informed them.It took Serra a minute to reach the cabin with a ragged breathing. Her throat dried from running and Danika was behind her. When they got there, Nysel was standing on the table along with other winged Badbloods who look exhausted with their droopy brown eyes. Serra recognized them, they're the ones Nysel sent to watch the villages."There's still no signs of attack" a winged woman said, her wings were a mixture of brown and red color with feathers so shiny and beautiful. "We scouted the area overnight but didn't see any Badbloods.""That is because the attack will not happen there" Serra interrupted and stepped forwa
The travel was rough as the road. On the first light, they already met a dozen of Reapers but Gwyn got rid of them with her arrows whose tips were melted from heavenly fire. The wagons forms a long line like a train. Inside was a small lamp that gives enough light for everyone inside to see.The sound of the wheels against the ground was somehow pleasing to hear. Serra find comfort on the sound of crickets, the wind gushing on the tree branches, the squeaks of the birds, and the whispers of the lost souls in the woods.Nysel would sometimes go out and fly, constantly checking the perimeter. She would fly down and alert everyone if a Reaper was seen in the distance. On the first day of travel, Serra was silent. She sat beside Sisi and stared whole day at the wagon floor. But her mi
It wasn't the look she remembers when she left Sirka village. The memory plays on Serra's mind: Maria falling to her knees and behind her was Rila holding a bow with deep angry eyes. And now she's standing again in the gates, looking directly into her sister's eyes.Rila is still as beautiful as before but something is different from her, something Serra couldn't fathom. Her expression lighten and she's clearly surprised to see Serra. Is she happy to see her? Has she changed?Serra wanted badly to think of that but the painful memory fills her heart. They were staring at each other for a minute before Rila spoke and looked away."Go away or we will shoot again!" Rila announced. Her voice was strong and full of authority.
"Captain" Serra greeted and bowed. Captain Felhelt stared at her. "We don't need aid" he said immediately. "We can handle them." "You can't" Haris interrupted as he makes his way to the front. Everyone gasped in surprise. "You don't know what's coming to you." Haris paused and took a deep breath. "I have seen it in my eyes. I have been imprisoned there and witnessed their cruelty. They will not stop until this village turn into ashes." There was a cry from the back and a woman pushed her way forward. "Oh heavens! You're alive." Haris's mother dashed to him and hugged him.Haris also cried and hugged her mother tightly. The
Serra was walking to the river where they bury the body of her mother. One of Maria's close friend before told her that she was given a proper burial and it was Rila who demanded it to the captain. She passed the fields. The carrots were looking good and green, the berries were healthy, and to Serra's surprise, they have grown corns just beside the tea farm. Her mouth twitched into a smile looking at the fields. She shared countless memories with Mira in these fields and all those felt like a long time a go now. She missed Mira so much. Then she reached the river. There still stood the tree, green and tall, branching up to the sky. It's branches sways in the wind like a hand waving at her, welcoming her home. Beside the tree was a rock sitting upward and her mother's name was written on it in a black dye. Serra walked towards it.
