*Bonus chapter for my amiable gifters. I made it longer. Dig in! Bon appetite. Lol.*

...

Adele~

Inside, the grounds stretched wide and far, manicured to perfection yet unnerving in their silence. It's been more than ten minutes, yet we still haven't reached the mansion – no, the car was not on full speed. There are speed limits inside the estate.

Twenty, twenty five to thirty, depending on the areas.

Cameras lined the roads, their red eyes glowing faintly, tracking every move we made. It wasn’t a neighborhood; it was a kingdom behind walls.

I rested my hand against the cool glass of the window, watching villa after villa pass. Each one beautiful, sprawling, guarded by its own gate.

“How much further?” I finally asked. My voice sounded too loud against the oppressive silence in the car.

Lucy glanced at me, then returned to her tablet. “Another few minutes. The West mansion sits at the heart. Everything else… branches around it.”

“The heart,” I mumbled, staring at the

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Bed Time Story

Adele~Who would have thought that after everything, we could still go through the rest of the wedding like nothing happened? The reception was epic. I wore the dress Emily got me for the first half, and the one I chose – under Detroit’s unshakable command – for the rest of the night. The thing I hated about events like this, was how much people wanted to connect. Heavens, it was exhausting! Even with Detroit holding my hand and dragging me everywhere, people still wanted to peel me away from him, especially madams and heiresses. Royals, politicians, heirs and whatnots lined up like dominoes waiting to fall, each one with their polished smiles and perfumed words. Apparently, marrying Detroit also meant marrying into an endless parade of handshakes and empty compliments.I tried. I really did. I smiled until my cheeks ached, nodded until my neck stiffened, and laughed at jokes that weren’t even remotely funny. But every so often, I caught Detroit watching me out of the corner of his e

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Ryan's Hidden Card

Ryan~“Enough!” His roar rattled the living room walls. Julia flinched, her words dying in her throat.Ryan could feel his pulse thundering in his ears, every nerve in his body screaming to release the tension curling around his bones. So, he paced. He paced like a caged animal, his fists clenching and unclenching. His mind was a storm, replaying Adele’s face, Adele’s voice, Adele’s smile. He couldn't let her go. No, especially not now that she had the world under her feet. Certainly not now that his own empire was crumbling. He needed her – her name, her money, her heart, their child… he needed them. And then it hit him.Ryan stopped dead in his tracks, his chest rising and falling, eyes widening as the realization crashed into him like lightning.“I didn’t divorce her yet…” he whispered, lips curving into something dangerous. Julia blinked, confused. “What do you mean? Your divorce was finalized.” He lifted his head, meeting her stunned gaze, and repeated louder, firmer, “I did

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Novels Aren't This Fascinating

Adele~My jaw flexed, tears trailing down my face. My trembling hand slid from his hair down the side of his face, my thumb grazing the corner of his trembling mouth.“Tell me,” I whispered, voice frayed, “how do I not want you?”My knees obeyed me as I sank down in front of him, kneeling with the man who’d hurt our daughter more than anyone else.I should be hating him for what our daughter went through under his roof, but I couldn't. God, I couldn't seek justice for our child. I locked foreheads with him, skin to skin, breath to breath. His lashes fluttered shut, like he was afraid to open his eyes and find me gone.“I can’t,” I choked out, my hands on his cheeks. “I can't even hate you. I want to hate you. But I can’t.”His eyes opened. His hands quivering on my arms. His breath hitched. “Adele…”I drew back just enough to see his face. His eyes were glittering with tears that didn't dare to fall just yet, as they fixed on mine with a kind of naked devotion that seized my breath.

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Accept Me Back

Adele~Instead of explaining, Detroit stunned me with his action. He bent his knees! The mighty CEO Leighton D. West, the man the world bowed to, the man who never lowered his head for anyone–not even presidents and royalties–was kneeling before me. The crowd stirred, gasped, voices breaking out in shocked whispers and muffled exclamations.“What in the world—”“Did CEO West just kneel?”“He’s actually begging her?”Click! Click! Click! Camera shutters went off like fireworks, each flash illuminating the altar brighter than the chandeliers above us. My heartbeat stuttered, my breath catching in my throat. Detroit didn’t care about any of it – the stares, the murmurs, the chaos. His head tilted slightly up, his silver eyes locking onto mine with a raw vulnerability I had never seen in him.“Adele,” his voice was rough, breaking at the edges, “I found out a couple of days ago. I should have told you the truth then. But I didn’t. And for that, I'm also guilty.”My chest ached. My

  • Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife    Her Child

Adele~Standing on the altar again this time was different. A couple of minutes ago, I had no one, but now, I have a family, sitting there and watching me get married to the man I didn't know how I fell in love with. The man who entered my life like a storm and swept me off my feet. I couldn't ask for anything else. Although this situation felt like a dream I didn’t want to wake up from, my mind knew it was my reality now. A reality I couldn't wait to throw myself into. Detroit's hand brushed against mine, pulling my mind back to him. My veil was on again. Sarah had pinned it back in place and told me I needed to get married like the queen I was. Despite myself, a soft laugh had slipped from my lips. But even with my veil on, I could see the restlessness buried underneath his eyes. It was as though he was fighting a battle no one else could see. He’d just given me back my family. My name. My place in the world. And yet, I couldn’t shake the sense that Detroit was hiding something.
