The first thing Gypsy did after dropping her daughter off at school was to drive to David's company. She hadn't heard from him since he dropped her off at her house last night. Not that she expected him to call after she'd told him she needed some space last night.

Luckily for her, she arrived at his office just in time because David was about to step out of his office when Gypsy got out of the elevator. He froze, his eyes widening with surprise as he stared at her.

“Gypsy.” He said her name.

“David.” She responded, stepping closer to him. “Why do you look so surprised to see me?”

“You told me you needed some space last night and...” He trailed off, shaking his head.

Gypsy winced internally. Had she been rude when she'd told him she wanted to be alone? Last night, her mind had been too disconcerted for her to really think about the things she'd said. Perhaps she'd said something that offended him.

“Can we talk?” She asked, glancing over at David's secretary who was shooting daggers at
