She heaved a breath and looked away when I asked her about her wolf.

"Gavin. I don't know if you will ever be ready to hear me out or fathom what I know. But I have seen and heard enough to be convinced of what I believe in. You have noticed a massive change in my attitude and behaviour and it isn't without a good reason. I trust you and I will tell you everything. But can you just put faith in me at the moment? My wolf is part of whatever is going on…"

Her forehead creased as she chewed on her lower lip - something she did whenever she was anxious. She then cast a pleading look at me.

"This is a lot for me to accept. Before I tell everything to someone else, I need to digest it myself. Please, Gavin. A bit more time?"
