I was in a heated argument with Becky because she was stressing me out. She wanted me to accompany her to her check-up, even after I warned her not to contact me until Layla left.

Jamie offered to go with her, but she didn’t want Jamie. She wanted me to drive her there and stay with her until she was down. According to her, she wanted emotional support from the father of her child.

The same father she trapped. The same man she blackmailed. The same man she knew was in love with someone else.

While the call was still on, I sighted Layla and the kids out of the corner of my eye. For a split second, the storm Becky had brought with her faded into background noise.

I was focused on my beautiful family. At least, that was what I hoped it would turn into. I ended the call with Becky immediately.
