First Night

The elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, revealing a penthouse that took my breath away - not with warmth, but with the sheer, cold grandeur of it. High ceilings, marble floors that gleamed under soft recessed lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows framing the entire city like a glittering kingdom laid out at our feet. Everything was pristine, expensive, and utterly untouched. It felt less like a home and more like a museum beautiful to look at, but nowhere you could ever truly belong.

'Jules, kaya mo'to okay? nag practice na tayo kagabi diba?'

I'm just his wife on the contract.

Killian stepped past me, not glancing back. He loosened his tie with one sharp tug, his movements precise and impatient, as if every second spent standing still was a second wasted. His stride was long and confident, as if every inch of this place already belonged to him — which, of course, it did.

"This is the main living area," he said, his voice echoing slightly off the polished walls. "Kitchen is fully stocked. Staff comes in twice a week. Your room is upstairs."

Bahagyang gumaan ang loob ko. Salamat naman. Hiwalay kaming matutulog. Iyon lang naman ang inaasahan ko. Hindi kami totoong mag-asawa. Kontrata lang ito. Kasunduan.

He led me down a long hallway lined with closed doors, then stopped at the very last one at the end. He pushed it open and stepped aside.

I walked in, expecting something modest - perhaps a guest room, soft and quiet, where I could stay out of his way. But as I stepped across the threshold, I froze.

This was not a guest room.

Yes,may master's bedroom kami but not like as huge as this. And along the sides... two rows of large wardrobes-facing each other, identical in size, seemingly meant for two people.

Killian leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, watching me with that unreadable, cool expression of his. "This is it."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. "Dito? Ibig sabihin... dito tayo? Tayo?! Akala ko ba contract lang? bakit same bedrooms?"

"There is no other bedroom allocated for us in this arrangement, Julianna."

Puwede akong doon. Oh, kahit sa couch kaya ko 'yon."

"There are guest rooms," he said flatly. "They are for guests. You are my wife. Not my guest. You sleep here."

"Read the fine print," he said calmly. "And understand this, appearances matter. Everything about this marriage is a performance. If we look like we are hiding something, questions will be raised. Speculation will follow. And I did not pay a fortune to silence rumors only to give them new life beneath my own roof."

Those words was cold, direct, devoid of any trace of pity pierced my heart. He was right. I signed the paper. I accepted every condition. And I needed this. My family needed this. I had no right to complain. I had no right to be angry. Because I had sold myself the moment I signed my name.

"Sige. Kung ganoon... what about us?"

Killian walked past me, tossed his suit jacket over the back of a chair, and sat down on the edge of the bed as if claiming it. He looked up at me, his gaze steady, unflinching, impossible to read.

"The bed is big enough for two people who hate each other," he said, his voice low and even. "Stay on your side. Do not touch me. Do not cross the line. And for God's sake - do not make this difficult."

Ang sakit ng mga salitang iyon. Dalawang taong nagkakainitan.

"I will stay on my side. I won't bother you. I won't approach you. Rest assured.."

"Good." "Rules for the room: No talking after ten unless necessary. No entering the bathroom while I am in there. Keep your things on your side. If you need anything - ask. Do not take liberties. We are not friends. We are barely even acquaintances. Do not forget that."

"Why did you agree to this?"

Natigilan ako. Hindi ko inaasahang magtatanong siya.

"Mahalaga ba?" sagot ko sa halip.

"It does to me. I want to know what I'm dealing with."

He turned his head then, and for the first time all night, he looked at me. His eyes were dark, unreadable, searching mine in the dim light.

"You gave up everything," he said quietly. "Your freedom. Your name. Your life. All for a debt you did not choose. Why?"

Dahan-dahan akong lumingon sa kanya.

"Because, I love my Dad, Killian.

"Go to sleep," he said, turning away. "We have a long day tomorrow."

"Long enough," maikli niyang sagot. Tinitigan niya ako — mula ulo hanggang paa — bago magsalita sa tonong walang bahid ng pag-aalinlangan.

"Tonight," he said smoothly, "you make your debut."

Nanlaki ang aking mga mata. "Ano?"

"The Blackwood Annual Gala. Everyone will be there. Business partners. Rivals. Society. They will all be watching you, Julianna. Watching how you walk. How you speak. How you stand beside me. Remember everything I told you. Remember the rules. And do not - under any circumstances - make me regret bringing you."

"Be ready by six," he said. "And Julianna... wear something befitting your name. You are Mrs. Blackwood now. Act like it."

But as I stood up and approached the window, gazing at the city waking up in the sunlight... I made a promise to myself. I would not fail. I would not be put to shame. Whatever happens tonight... I will handle it. Because I have no other choice.

Morning After The sunlight filtering through the curtains was what woke me first — soft, golden, and nothing like the heavy darkness I’d grown used to in this house. The room felt different somehow. Brighter. Warmer. Like a weight that had been pressing down on my chest for months had finally lifted, leaving behind only this quiet, breathtaking lightness. For almost four months living with him. This is the first time that we slept like this. Closer that I didn't expect that we could do this. People know him as a cold, dominant, ruthless and a serious person. I look at him and to be honest hindi nakakatakot ang aura niya kung hindi mo iisipin. For a moment, I just lay there, breathing in the familiar scent of sandalwood and expensive cologne mixed with something entirely, wonderfully him. My head rested comfortably on his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat lulling me even in my half-awake state. His arm was draped heavily over my waist — warm, solid, anchoring me in plac

Royal Entrance The dress arrived before the sun had fully set. Silver silk, catching every ray of light like scattered starlight, with a neckline that left just enough to the imagination and a silhouette that made me feel like someone else entirely. Elegant. Poised. Someone who belonged in his world."Is this really necessary?" I murmured, running my fingers over the smooth fabric. It felt cool, foreign against my skin. Killian stood by the doorway, already dressed in a tailored black tuxedo that made him look every inch the powerful billionaire he was. His gaze swept over me, unreadable, steady. "Tonight you make your debut," he said, voice calm and absolute. "Everyone will know who you are. Stand beside me, Jules. Don't drift. Don't look down. And smile.""Smile," I repeated softly. "Like I'm happy to be here?""Like you belong," he corrected. The car ride was silent. I watched the city

The Contract The shouting began before I even stepped fully inside the room."We will not let you get away with this!" sigaw ng isa sa mga investors, halos nanginginig na sa galit habang itinuturo ang tatay ko. "You stole our money from the bank! That is why we are bankrupt! We trusted you - and this is how you repay us? With deception?"My heart hammered wildly against my ribs as I stood frozen at the doorway. Around me, faces that used to greet my father with respect ngayon ay nagliliyab sa galit. They slammed papers onto the conference table, their voices blending into one deafening roar of accusation and despair."We will file criminal charges! You will answer for this in court!" another voice boomed. "Pay us back every cent... or face the consequences!"Nanlumo ang tuhod ko. Alam kong may mali. But seeing everything fall apart right in front of my ey
