It was a hot night, the clear night holding no signs of clouds but a bright moon hanging high in the sky. A house sat in the moons gleam soft lighting coming from within. A lone figure steps out of the house and walks down the stairs, walking down the cement path leading to the driveway. The figure turns to the left and sat down on a bench.
When the moonlight touched the figure it showed to be a woman with glistening black hair. Her eyes held sadness and regret that showed within her blue eyes. Looking up to the blackness of the night sky looking at the stars showed brightly, she held back the tears that were forming in her eyes.
Today would mark the fifth year of exile. The fifth year of which marked the death of a friend and lose of a lover. Any other day of the year she would not care less or not think of it but today was always the hardest.
Jezzebelle D’aramitz sat on that bench with her thoughts swirling around in her head. What if she had been born just a normal human. Being born into the vampire court was the worse fate a person could have been wished upon. What is even worse is not having both parents being same, instead of a father being a vampire and the mother being the human.
“Sis what are you doing out here?”
Jezzebelle looked over her shoulder to see her sister, Annabelle walking down the stairs towards her. Unlike her, her little sister had blonde hair but had their fathers striking blue eyes. Eyes that also had seen too much.
“I am just thinking, I needed some air.”
Anna signed, walking towards her taking a seat next to her.
“You mean your thinking of that day? Sissy I wish I could change the past for you but you need to get over the fact we will never return. We will never get our powers back and be welcomed back with arms wide open.”
Jezzebelle turned to her sister, her eyes tearing up.
“I just wish I could turn back the clock, I miss him but yet wish I had not fallin in love with him other wise all of this would not have happened. We would not be exiled and powerless.”
Sighing, Anna got up from the bench she took a deep breath, closed her eyes and shook her head.
“It is not your fault, I know you did not do what they accused you of doing. It is why we left with you. We choose to follow you into exile.”
Jezzebelle looked up at her sister and gave a little smile.
“I am glad you did, for I do not know what I would of done without you and the girls.”
Anna smiled back at her sister and turned to walk back to the house. Staring off to the side of the side of the house into the woods, a thought or more of a memory of a word flashed through her mind. “Our hearts are one, I would never betray you nor question your ability. Stay with me through eternity. I love you.” Those words she would keep to her soul but it neither helped or solved her emotions.
Looking back at the house smiling sadly, she did not even mean to drag her sister and the only two friends who are more like sisters than anything else.
“Honey you shouldn’t think about him, you always get depressed when you do.”
Smiling, Jezzebelle looked at her mother, whom age showed very brightly on her. She had long gray hair, beautiful green eyes but her form tells a different tale. It is only due to the fact sickness she has has aged her further due to the pain she goes through. Her mother has cancer and refuses to let go of living. She had offered to give her mother the gift of immortality…..but she basically spat on the floor and started slurring a bunch of words saying “Why the hell would I want to be stuck in a world with a bunch of blood suckers who cant tell one ass cheek to the other”
Giggling at her mothers past response, she smiled up to her mom. “ How are you still up its 11pm. You should be in bed.”
“Pft bed yeah, have you heard the ruckus that’s going down in the basement, it sounds like Abby and Katrina are singing off key they are driving me nut. I can not sleep through that.
Shaking her head Jezzebelle she walked through the hallway past the stairs to the basement door. Yanking it opened she yelled “Hey idiots, you know there is a singing curfew for the lesser minded people. There are sickly people in need of rest!”
“ Oh go blow a hole Jez we are practicing.”
“Kaitlyn if you do not want to abide by the rules then I guess I need to come down there and teach you a lesson on obideince.”
Kay squeaked and responded “I am sorry I will stop for the night but doesn’t mean I find something else to drive you nuts muwhahahah.”
Jezzebelle sighed
“Abby you keep her in check, I don’t care if you need to throw duct tape over her mouth and strap her down to a chair.”
“Ok Jezze, I can do that!”
Shutting the door, she turned to face her mom. “Try to get some sort of sleep mom, I will probably be up for a while.
Watching her mother walk slowly down the hallway to her bedroom, she waited for her to shut the door and stood there at the door making sure she finally had fallen asleep.
After hearing her mother snore a good couple of times, she turned and walked down gently opening the door leading to the basement, stopping for a minute to hear the chattering that was going on, she shut the door and walked down the steps.
Her face held disgust on it when she looked at all three girls. Shaking her head she sat down on the couch. Not really paying attention to their talk but most of it she just blocked it all out so it sounded like jabbering. Finally she got up not interested in hearing their stories
She turned to her bedroom to the left. “I am going to go lay down knuckle heads, I need to get my mind clear for our meeting with our manager tomorrow in which I am not looking forward too.
Jezzebelle layed staring at the ceiling while everyone else had gone to bed. Her thoughts still reeling from past events. “How will I ever overcome my failure to my father and my love. Living in this world is cruel.” Closing her eyes, she waited for sleep to claim her instead memories shifted through her mind. Memories of the life she once had. The Society she was born in was the cruelest and wasn’t for the weak. In order to survive you had to be strong and cunning. She had been both until a very jealous vampire decided to make sure everything was taken from her.
She knew what would calm her down, getting out of bed she went to her dresser and pulled open her lower drawer. Shifting through some of her shirts, she found what she was looking for. A white shirt made to fit a man with laces that held the top together rather than buttons. Bringing the shirt to her nose, Jezzebelle breathed in a scent only her nose would catch.
Taking the shirt to the bed, she laid it on a pillow and buried her face into it. Wishing for the one person who it belongs to was there next to her. Sleep finally claimed her, but instead of dreams memories were in place.
Music started up and others around the room started to mingle into their social groups. Maddie was giggling at something her father had said. Jezzebelle kind of was a little jealous. She and her sister had to be behind their father, standing at his side setting the example of strong and respected. Even though majority of the families whisper nasty things about her and Anna. They will never tell it to Lazarus face but the girls heard the whispers through out school.Sometimes she felt frozen in time, standing up on the platform next to her father. Like a doll that sits staring into space wishing for escape. A chuckle went through her mind."A doll ma petite. Non more like a predator waiting to strike it's prey." Snickering, Jezzebelle shook her head."Oh yeah and you are what? A peacock ready to strut his feathers?"The King snickered up on his throne causing several people to look up at him including Lazarus. Zephyr noticed and wiped his face clear of any emotion."Ha! Careful or you
2 hours laterJezzebelle felt nervous, she did not know why. She wanted to be noticed by someone. More than every she was very curious to see if she would get The King's attention and get a dance out of him. He normally does not move from his throne when it came to balls. Her heart sped up, she was wondering what it would be like if he ever asked her on a date. What the heck am I thinking, he truly has not shown any affection to anyone. If I were to ask him, he would probably just laugh at me. Besides, I am just a half breed according to all of the stuck up purebloods. Maddie's family were lined up in front of her. Her grandfather was in front followed by Mad's mom and dad. Alex was next to Maddie. As if she knew that she was looking at her, Maddie turned around and smiled very evilly at her. Belle wiped her face of emotion and just stared at her and shook her head no. That caused Maddie to laugh making the black feather on top of her head bobble. Alex was confused as to what was goi
After their heart rates started to slow down from rolling all over the floor, Jezzebelle smiled at the empty doorway."I am glad to see Lord Alessandro not hiding away in some dark corner. I would be devestated after losing my husband to hunters."Maddie looked off to one side, it had only been a few years ago when they lost her grandmother Isabella. Poor Alessandro had left Isabella at their house and went out to feed. Even though Isabella had been an Ancient, the attack came out of no where. Hunters had ascended to the house with an abnormal meaning a paranormal helped them locate the house. Apparently Isabella tried to fight them off but the rogue mage that was helping had somehow disabled Isabella's magic and the hunters were abled to drive a stake through her heart. By the time Alessandro had gotten back the hunters had cleared out, and the only thing Alessandro had left of Isabella was a pile of ash. He had when on a hitaus from the meetings for a couple of years trying to get
2 days later"You ever wonder how or who comes up with these themes for the dances. I mean dress as a devil or a queen! Like I want to look like a demon or wear too much jewelry trying to out rank those who think being a queen is all that is."Belle snorted at her friends remark on that one. "Come on Mads, we know what all the Ladies are going to go for. Besides I think High Council Member Aurelie and Amelie are the ones who prep and give suggestions since there is no queen to do it."After the events that happened at the hall, Belle needed a break so she had asked her mom if she could stay at the Moretti Manor. Her mother knew Maddie was Belle's only friend besides Alexander who was too shy to truly talk to her but still did her loads of favors. Yesterday at school was so bad she could only concentrate on one thing and that was the rustling with the King on the matts the other day.Her mind had been on auto pilot that she ran into a wall with her shoulder. Also she was not paying att
Belle felt like she was completely lost on this. She shot a glance to her father, showing the worry on her face."I am sorry baby. I do not know what is going on with him. But I can not stop this. It is out of my hands with him being the authority."He looked at her with the sadness in his eyes. He did promise her freedom but he knew completely that there would never be that choice. As she was way too powerful, some Ancients actually fear her. "It is okay pappa. I knew pretty much I would not have my freedom due to my power level. I was hoping though by some miracle that I could just float into an abyss and escape this madness."Getting off the floor, she dusted off her knee caps and bowed to the King. "I understand Your Grace." She remained in her bow until the King was going to excuse her from it. He waved his hand in which she straightened up from it.She walked over to her father, who in turn kissed the top of her forehead. Smiling sadly up to him she took a deep breath."You will
Jezzebelle could not believe what she had just heard. The King just mowed over any possibility of her just having simple freedom. She now had to fight for it. She stood there like a deer caught in headlights, her mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for oxygen. Her father noticed and started to growl, knowing full well he could not protect her from this. Even though he gave the King the right to watch over her, he still was not ready to let his baby go. Especially to a very old vampire with a nasty reputation of blowing his head all over the place. Not that he did not have the same problem but he learned to be patient with his daughters.Lazarus tilted his head he saw that his eldest was thinking of something, her eye's held that certain color that told him she was thinking of a counter move. Belle in her mind was thinking of another way. Anything Head or Higher was scary. Most of all those in the Council were above five hundred years old. A thought then clicked in and she th
