Ian looked as if he was ready to kill, eyes shining with pure rage as his voice boomed . “What the hell is this man doing in your room?”

I opened my mouth, closed it and opened it again, the words for some reason dying on my tongue

‘What was I supposed to say? … would he even believe me if I told him the truth?’

I was at a loss because this didn’t happen in my past life. I looked at both men, wondering how to get out of this.

Unfortunately, the strange man spoke.

“I am Olpheus, the last pure blood of the Elves.” he announced, stepping closer to me and my heart raced. “I have come to take my beloved home.” He smirked at Ian

It was the wrong thing to say.

Ian’s eyes twitched, and he snarled at me, “You whore, so this is what you have been doing? Sleeping around … sleeping around with monsters behind my back?”

whore?

My mouth parted in disbelief and my brain lagged.

‘was he serious right now? … did he just call me a whore knowing he has been sleeping with my sister?’ I bit my bottom lips to prevent me from saying anything.

“Do not speak to her like that.” Olpheus warned him, tone hard as steel.

“Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do?” Ian grew more red with rage, and my wolf whimpered in me, coiling and hiding.

One thing was certain. ‘he was going to hurt us, maybe even mark me now and forever bind me to him.’ the thought made my chest ache and i was instantly claustrophobic. I didn’t want to be in that situation again. I couldn’t waste this second chance. My palms grew cold and my lungs tightened painfully as I remembered each and every time he raised his hands to hit me in my past life

“I just told you who I am. Are you hard of hearing?” Olpheus frowned at him, then took my hand, sending familiar shivers down my spine.

“MOVE AWAY FROM HER!” Ian practically combusted and I felt the ground shake from his fury.

‘this won’t end well.’ my wolf cowered in fear, and pressed herself flat as if she was trying to disappear. I didn’t have the heart to tell her to be strong, not when my legs were about to give out… literally

I tried to pull away from Olpheus because he could leave while I would remain stuck here, forced to bear the brunt of Ian’s maddening rage, but his arm tightened around me.

My entire body thrummed and i wasn’t sure which was which, his warm strong hands, or my fear for Ian.

‘this isn’t the time for these thoughts, Eloise.’ i chided myself.

“Do you know who I am? You dare enter my pack, and try to take my mate? How dare you? Step away from her now, and I will grant you a quick death.” Ian took a menacing step forward.

My pulse thundered loudly in my ear.

Olpheus shook his head lazily.

‘how was he still so calm? … how was he not cowering with fear right now?’

“I don’t want to move away from her.” he told him simply.

Ian stared at the man as if he was seeing him clearly for the first time. He was stunned. I had seen him angry. I had seen him throw furniture. I had even seen him put his fist throw a wall. Of course, I had also seen him try to kill me, hands wrapped around my throat, but … this was different. He was staring at Olpheus with something that looked like confusion.

‘of course he is confused, he has never been told no in his entire life.’

“I will give you one more chance …” he said again.

Olpheus cut him off with a bland tone. “We are going to go now.”

He stepped away from me only for a moment, and linked our hands.

‘am i really going somewhere with a man i do not know? … the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t, right?’

I hesitated, and Ian took advantage of it.

It happened so fast, too fast for me to process … he jumped at me, ripped me away from Olpheus and grabbed me by my throat.

Full blown panic slammed hard against my body, his arm was tight around me, his hand around my throat cut off my lungs, and I tried to get away from him, but couldn’t. I couldn’t breathe either. The room shrank around me, and all i could feel was his presence. My eyes watered as i fought him, as i fought against history repeating itself, he was going to hurt me.

He held me against him, his claws already digging into my throat.

‘this never happened in my first life’ i thought, trying to get away.

“Ian …” I trembled, doing everything I could to push away from him, but he was too strong.

“Shut up.” he growled against my ear, hand tightening around my throat.

“Let go of her right now.” Olpheus barked, eyes thinning with rage. It was the only emotion I had seen him show.

“you want her so bad?” Ian laughed, pulling me closer. “Then you get her when i am done with her, not before.”

“I will not repeat myself.” Olpheus seethed.

Ian did not listen. He did not respond, then i felt it, the sharp pressure at the side of my neck … i felt his sharp teeth sink into my neck, and i felt the burning the followed. Tears burned my eyes as the burn spreaded through my entire body.

‘Oh, no, no, no.’

He sank his teeth further and ripped it out painfully.

Only then did he let me go, tossing me to the ground as if i was worthless.

I hit the floor on my hands and knee loudly. The sound ricocheted through the silent room. No one spoke for a second, not even my wolf. I coughed painfully as the fire from his mouth still burned through my entire body. Blood trickled down my neck, and it dripped to the ground. It was hard to see clearly with the tears burning my vision, but the worst part was my wolf. She was too quiet. I had failed to protect us again. I had wasted the chance we had been given.

‘He marked me … he made sure no one would ever touch me … he made sure i belonged to him’

Ian had marked me.

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Confrontation

Eloise’s POV My heart beat hard in my chest as I looked from Natalia to my mate. What was he going to do? It wasn’t her fault that I was holding the knife. Why was he taking things so far?“Olpheus,” I started, my voice sounding shaky even to my own ears. I took a deep breath and continued, “You don’t have to be so ridiculous, Olpheus. I did this to myself. No one should be blamed for my own-” I didn’t get to finish my sentence. “Shut up!” he growled, his eyes full of nothing but venom. My lips sealed on their own and my heart beat really hard in my chest. He had never spoken to me like that before, and hearing him talk to me like that sent a shiver of fear down my spine.I was lost in my thoughts, trying to wrap my head around the fact that he had spoken to me like that.I didn’t notice one of the men speaking up, but I was snapped back to reality when I noticed the tone he used. There was something fiercely possessive in his tone. When I looked back up, my eyes landed on Fredrick,

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Silent

Eloise’s POVI woke to the sound of voices somewhere near me, but I didn’t open my eyes. I recognized Olpheus’s voice almost immediately, low and firm as he gave instructions to the maids. He sounded like he had been awake for a while, and from the movement around the room, I could tell they were already carrying out his orders.“Make sure her food is prepared properly. Everything she needs should be ready,” he instructed, his voice carrying easily through the room. I remained as still as I could beneath the covers, pretending like I was still sleeping as I listened to the activities going on around me.The maids continued moving around the room, their footsteps soft against the floor as they went about their work. I could hear dishes being arranged and utensils being moved, and every now and then, Olpheus’s voice rose above the quiet sounds as he gave another instruction. I listened to every word despite pretending not to, following his movements through the sound of his voice unt

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Parcel

Fredrick’s POV I closed my eyes and drew in a slow breath, trying to calm the racing of my heart. I had faced situations far more dangerous than a piece of paper, yet somehow this felt more difficult.I folded the report carefully and slipped it away before walking toward Olpheus. He looked at me the moment I approached, his attention immediately sharpening as though he could sense that something was wrong.“Nolan has been spotted at West bridge.”Olpheus straightened. “West bridge?”I nodded. “Yes.”“I’ll be out in a minute.”“Very well.”I turned and walked away, but the moment I stepped into the corridor, I released a breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding. My heart was still beating too quickly, and no matter how many times I told myself to calm down, my thoughts refused to settle.I slowed my steps and took another deep breath. Nolan was at West bridge. That was what I should have been thinking about, yet my mind kept returning to the report hidden inside my coat.I pulled it

Fredrick’s POV “Who is Eldagore?” I asked. She looked up from the floor, annoyance written across her face, plain as day.“is this why you called me away? To ask about this? I’m going to lose a day’s worth of pay for this??” her voice was becoming increasingly louder, but I didn’t mind.I would rather she screamed at me for the world to hear than for her keep me locked out.“How much?” she looked confused for a moment, before her face fell in realization. Her lips remained sealed shut.“How much is it, Natalia.” She looked at me with an emotion I couldn’t quite understand. That was the way things always were between us, I couldn’t understand a thing about her, no matter how hard I tried to.“Why do you want to know?” There was a fire in her eyes now. “Do you want to throw money on the problem just like you always do?!” She was heaving now, that fire I had somehow come to love burned hot in her eyes. Like a wild fire that couldn’t be quenched.“I don’t want your money, Fredrick. I ne

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Attention

I shook my head in response. “No.” I honestly didn’t know if not hearing from them was a good thing or not, but a lot had been going on lately and I was glad they hadn’t shown up again. He nodded, looking just as tired as I felt.“Take care of yourself.” He said, making his way out of the room.I looked at him.“And don’t think about this too much. Whatever is going on with your mate, it will pass.”I didn’t answer immediately, I wanted to believe his words too, but the way things were going I knew it would be a long time before things would actually ‘pass’.“It’s probably just a phase in the relationship,” he added.I nodded, because u was too exhausted to actually form words. The moment the door closed behind him, my mind wandered back to our last conversation. Maybe I had overreacted.Maybe I’d been too quick to assume something was wrong.I rubbed a hand over my face. I should probably try talking to her. Instead of sitting here imagining every possible explanation, I could go t

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Eldagore

Frederick’s POVI ran a hand through my hair. I didn’t know what I was feeling, there was no way to name the emotion that coursed wildly through my veins.“What do you want from me Natalia?” I asked looking at the woman that destiny had chosen for me and I had given my heart to.“I don’t want anything from you, Fredrick.” I released another sigh.“That seems to be the very problem Natalia, but mates are supposed to look out for each other and make life easier for one another.”She looked at me then, but it felt like she wasn’t. It was like she was looking right through me, and she was seeing a whole other person. It unnerved me.“That’s what Eldagore said.” I looked at her confused. Who on earth was Eldagore, and how did they have anything to do with us??“Who is that?” I asked, obviously confused. She looked unsettled for a second, and for a moment I could swear I saw fear flash in her eyes.“Don’t worry about it. I should never have even brought it up.”I frowned at her words . Wha
