_The triplets._

They had watched her go unconscious once again, their heart pounding as they hoped she regained consciousness.

The room had gone too quiet when her head hit the bed. She was delirious, calling out to someone who wasn’t there, fighting hands that weren’t even on her.

Nico was certain that whatever was wrong with her had something to do with Santiago, but they couldn’t tell what

Amelie hadn’t told them anything when she had returned, and now he hated himself for not noticing anything previously.

He sat in a chair pulled closed to the bed, elbows braced on his knees as he stared at her motionless body. Her lips were pale, breathing barely there, like it was a conscious effort for her to stay.

Like one wrong thing and she would come crashing down, slipping away from them.

And Nico didn’t want that to happen. He didn’t want to lose her, even if it meant sharing her with his brothers.

He didn’t mind it, as long as he still had a piece of her.

A lone tear slid down his cheek

_The Triplets_The syringe hit the floor with a sickening clink, the liquid oozing.Nico looked between the syringe and the doctor, he had confirmed his suspicions.Matteo’s grip on the fake doctor tightened, “This isn’t medicine,” he growled. “What the hell is it?”He was one second away from carving the doctor’s face with is fist, if he was even a doctor that is.There was no way this was who Dr. Sandler had asked to check on Amelie.“Who are you and what have you done with the doctor that was supposed to be here,” Luca asked stiffly, meeting the stare of the fake doctor. For a brief moment, the doctor felt like he was currently at death’s door. The dark look on Luca’s face sent shivers down his spine. But he said nothing, his mouth twitched as though he was fighting something inside himself.“Whoever it is you fear; you should bear it in mind that we would do so much worse than them. So you better start spilling or else we would make your death very painful.”“You want answers? Her

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Darkness

_Amelie’s POV_I’m dying. Those were the words that echoed in my head as I slipped in and out of consciousness. The world kept tilting all around me.Hot, cold. Blinding light. Shadows. Then nothing.I came to with a gasp, lungs burning and my body soaked in sweat. My mouth opened and I attempted to speak but nothing came out, except for a low wheeze.I couldn’t see.Or maybe I could, but everything was wrong—tilted, too bright, too loud.I couldn’t make sense of anything in front of me. There were voices—muffled, arguing. My name. I heard my name.Someone was talking about me. “…melie… she’s not—fuck, she’s burning up—”Who had that voice? Nico?I blinked hard, but the ceiling wouldn’t stay still. It kept moving around, warping. At some point it felt like the ceiling had dropped to my head and I was carrying the entire thing. I reached out, fingers twitching against cool sheets, and felt a hand grab mine tightly.“Don’t move,” someone whispered. Matteo.Or was it Luca? No. Matte

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Dying.

_Author’s POV_The triplets stared as she collapsed, each of them frozen in shock.Just like that. One second she was standing—staggering, but upright—and the next, she crumpled like her body had finally had enough. They had never been as scared as they were right now.It took just a split second for Nico to react and he caught her before her head hit the floor. “Amelie?!”Her eyes were open—but empty. Her lips parted. A soft sound came out, like the start of a word—“Oh… shit.”Then nothing.“Amelie!” he shook her, hard enough to snap a neck. “Look at me—open your fucking eyes!”She didn’t.She didn't respond to anything. “Fuck—Matteo—”“I’m here.” Matteo was already moving, already crouched next to him, checking her pulse, his hands fumbling. “Her heart’s still beating—fast. Too fast. She’s burning up.”They didn't know what was wrong with her, but they knew they had to get her to a doctor, and fast. Luca stood frozen, his eyes locked on the blood soaked into her clothes. His jaw

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Everything went dark

_Amelie’s POV_I don’t know how long I remained on the floor. My chest heaved up and down as I struggled to breathe, wincing in pain as I forced out ragged breaths.I don’t know how long I can take this for.Hot tears streamed down my cheeks, my lips parting. Some part of me wanted to go over to the triplets and let them know. But I couldn’t.At least not right now.I knew I was only putting myself through suffering. But there was a stubbornness inside me—one I couldn’t turn off. A part of me wanted them to have peace. Just a few more days. Just one more moment where they didn’t have to carry the weight of what Santiago had done.Maybe before I die I’d find a way to survive this. Or not. But I cleaned the blood off the bathroom sink again. Scrubbed at the porcelain until it shone. My fingers trembled as I rewrapped the gauze over my ribs. Every nerve in my body screamed, but I bit down and endured.By the time I stepped out into the hall, I had fixed my face into something neutral.

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Dying

_Amelie’s POV_ The warmth in the estate was different now, not what I was used to. It was quiet footsteps and soft-spoken apologies, the gentle clatter of a spoon in a porcelain bowl, Nico adjusting the curtains to keep the sun off my face. It was Matteo making sure my tea was the right temperature before handing it to me, and Luca watching me with a stare that no longer held knives—but regret. They didn’t leave me alone. Not even for a second. It was suffocating and sweet all at once. I’d been home for two days, but it felt longer. Like my pain stretched time itself. I didn’t mention the blood. I didn’t mention the ache that wouldn’t leave my lungs or the heaviness in my limbs that no amount of rest could fix. I told myself it was trauma. Exhaustion. Healing. I didn’t want to believe it was whatever Santiago had put it in me. I told myself I could survive it—whatever Santiago had done to me. Whatever poison was buried in my veins. I just needed one more day. “Are y
