Horace’s POV.

“Elena, where are you? Please come out. Enough of this, okay. Come out, let’s talk about it.” I walked around the forest, screaming the words at the top of my voice, but heard nothing.

I had been doing the same thing for almost an hour, hoping I’d land eyes on her or she’d emerge from a corner. However, it was all to no avail.

I knew she was just looking out for me, but I couldn’t help myself as the memory of what those people had done rushed back to me the moment I set my eyes on Viva.

When she made up those lies against my ex-wife, Elaine was very devastated, as Viva was a woman she took as a close friend.

A woman she trusted.

So reaching a settlement with her made me feel like I would be betraying Elaine’s memory.

Although deep down, I knew Elena was right.

It is what she would’ve wanted. For me to forgive and to move on like nothing ever happened.
