CHAPTER 21: STRESS AT WORK

REAH'S POV 

I watched Alpha Xavier enter his office and I felt an odd feeling within me. The hatred I saw in his eyes earlier was deeper than before, it was like he hated me more than ever and that made me very sad. 

I walked to the seat that seemed to be mine as a Secretary and sat on it. I looked at the desk in front of me, deep in thought and wondering what I was supposed to do first. 

Watching a drama to make up for the job was different from facing it in reality and I soon realized that. I opened the different files on the table, glancing through them but none of them seemed to make much sense to me. Probably because I had no idea what they were about and who they belonged to. 

Soon, I heard footsteps coming closer to me and I raised my head to see who it was only to see a young handsome man walking over to my desk. Without a doubt, I knew he was a werewolf as there was a particular aura around him that made him look like he wasn't human. 

He had a pleasant smile on his refreshing face and when he got to my front, he stretched his hand for a handshake. Taking his hand, I stood up too and bowed slightly. 

"You are Reah Milla, Right? The new secretary that's resuming today," He asked and I nodded. 

"I am," I replied while also giving him a questioning look as I had no idea who he was. 

He looked at me and chuckled "I'm Fryster, Alpha Xavier's Assistant. I'm here to help you get used to your new job. The new Secretary had to leave for a vacancy overseas and it was very urgent so she isn't able to help you get around. I know a bit about the job and I was the one who trained her, so I guess I should be able to help a little?" He said, his pleasant voice making me feel extremely comfortable around him. 

I smiled softly and nodded my head "I'd be glad to receive your help. Thanks in advance," I replied. Fryster was a nice name...

"You can call me Fryster," As if he saw through my thoughts, Fryster spoke up. "Can I also call you Reah?" He asked. 

"Of course, You can," A bigger smile appeared on my face and Fryster looked stunned for a few seconds before he quickly nodded. 

"I will start the training then," He said and his expression turned a bit serious. 

He walked closer and picked some files "The first thing you need to do is sort these files according to the sections they belong to. These are about oils and petroleum, you should put them together," He picked a few files which he arranged together. 

"The files here are all about different things. Some are about designs, some are about foods, and some are about technologies. You should sort them first" He told me and I frowned. "Some are even about the hotels," He continued. 

"Why are they about different things? Isn't a company supposed to focus on just one thing?" That was what I thought at least. 

Fryster chuckled lightly and sat beside me. "That's not the case here. This is a Conglomerate and we have chains of companies all over the world. Alpha Xavier is interested in various businesses and he takes part in sponsoring countless products," 

I was surprised, I knew Xavier was involved in multiple businesses but I had never for once gone deeper to find out more about his job. 

I nodded my head and got to work. It took me more than an hour to arrange all the files according to the way Fryster told me and when I was done, I felt a little tired. 

"You're done," Frsyter said with a smile. "Do you want to rest or go on?" He asked and I looked at him. 

I let out a deep breath, "Go on. What else should I do?" Being in front of a werewolf who hardly gets tired, I couldn't afford to be seen as a weakling either so I decided to continue working too. 

Fryster chuckled. "Alright then. Before we move on, You have to go prepare coffee for Alpha Xavier. Can you do that?" He asked. 

"I can. But what's his preference? How does he like his Coffee?"

Fryster jotted some things in a paper and handed it to me. "Make sure to tear and dispose of the paper as soon as you are done. Apart from you and I, no one else in this company must know about how he likes his coffee to be made, okay?" 

I felt like it was pure nonsense but I still nodded my head and decided to go prepare the coffee. After a while, I returned with the coffee in hand. "Give it to him and let him know you made it," Fryster told me. 

I knocked once "Come in," The deep scary voice came from inside. 

I opened the door and entered. Getting inside, I saw Alpha Xavier who was still as busy as he was earlier when I first came in and I sighed. How could I say I was tired when he was working so hard?

I walked over and placed the coffee on the table "Made by me," I told him with a slight bow. 

Alpha Xavier stared at the coffee and frowned. He took it up and smelt it, making a disgusting face before he threw the cup to the side, splattering the coffee all over the floor. "Clean it and make another one for me," He ordered without even looking at me. 

I was displeased. I glared at him angrily and bit my lower lip in frustration but we were at work so there was nothing I could have done. I walked over and started cleaning the ground. After a while, I picked up the cup from the ground and left the office to prepare another. 

Seeing me coming from the office with a sullen face, Fryster seemed surprised and he walked over to me. "What happened?" He asked. 

"He rejected it," I replied and a small frown appeared on his face. 

"Why would he do that? Is he angry or what? He hardly rejects things, especially from new workers. He would always correct them," Fryster seemed very confused as he thought about the reasons. 

I wish I could just tell him that it was simply because Alpha Xavier hated me but that wouldn't help either. 

"Maybe you should change the cup or what do you think? He might be angry because of the cup you used," He suddenly pointed out. 

"Could that be the case? Why would he dislike the cup?" I questioned. 

Fryster shrugged. "I don't know either. I've never used this cup for him before and I don't think the former Secretary used it either. He might have warned her against the cup. I just don't know why he didn't say anything to you too. Go make another one before he gets even angrier," 

I let out a deep breath and walked away. After a while, I returned with another coffee and placed it on the table again. 

"Take it away and make another one," He didn't even bother to look at it before he said again. 

I clenched my fist and took it away. I brought more than 10 cups of coffee and my legs were starting to ache because of all the walks. "This is it," I said for the 11th time. 

He looked at the coffee and his frown deepened "Take it away and make another," He said again and I'd had enough. 

"Can you just tell me what you want? I've been stressing myself for the past hour, making different coffees for you and you keep rejecting them. Can you tell me what you want exactly?" I questioned, feeling very frustrated and annoyed. 

He raised his eyes to look at me and the hatred in it struck my heart again. He pushed the coffee away from his table, breaking the cup and splattering the coffee on the floor for the second time!

"Clean this place and scram!" He ordered before he focused on his job again. 

I stood there, dazed and stared at him, wondering what had truly gone wrong.
