Long ago it was said that there was only one person who could use magic, a woman blessed by the Gods above. Known as the Ancestor of all magic, she was praised and worshiped by humans. But despite her high status she gave fair treatment to every single human she met, bestowing and teaching them simple elemental magic. And not long after she became renowned to the whole world as The Queen of Magic and the God’s Daughter. But due to her kindness of bestowing magic to humans, the world was later engulfed into a dark age. Humans who got better in using magic oppressed those who were weaker than them.
Ridding inside a carriage pulled by a single white horse was Lyon and the Princess who was blissfully watching as they passed the busiest street in the Avaritian Kingdom. Buildings were scattered around, from small restaurants to large jewelry stores, nobles walking around who saw the carriage would bow their heads to the carriage where they were as it passed by. Other carriages were also present with high ranking nobles onboard. Business was booming near the palace, but as they continued to follow the street buildings began to get smaller, stalls began to crowd the street as commoners scattered around buying fruits and vegetables. A blow on a horn by the coachman brought them to a halt, everyone moving to the side and falling in line before bowing their heads as the carriage passed by them. Not long after as the carriage p
The air that surrounded Metoki felt tense as his fear was to be imprisoned, as it could tarnish his family's name. Metoki Zeitod, the second son of the Zeitod family, well-known for their ability to craft absurd amounts of weapons requested by the Commander of the Royal Knights. If news was to break out that their son was buying fake items and especially a fake insignia, it could be a massive downfall of their business. Metoki was trembling as he uttered his answer to Lyons' question. “I-i bought it a-at a store f-further north from o-our school…” He spoke head facing the ground, playing with his fingers trying to calm himself down. Jiniya sighed at the sight of Metoki trembling in fear, she whispered a few words to Lyon wherein he agreed to what she had
A few days earlier before the trial was even announced;. Inside a hidden dungeon under the Royal Palace, Lyon was watching the princess. Placed in a box-like room where a large pool was present, the smell of sea water filled the air as the sound of water rushed from large holes on the four corners of the rooms. He stood above an elevated section of the room where water could not reach him, gazing at the princess as she walked across the water that had a depth of between 1 to 2 feet. Her hand gracefully swung as if it was dancing along with her light brown skin. Lyon kept an emotionless face as the princess glanced back at him before she sat cross legged at a platform meant for sitting. Her lower body was submerged under the crystal like water that was brimming with mana, her hand forming a sign which caused the water to sud
The crowd was cheering as the Magic Trails had begun. Students displayed their abilities to the masses, varying from all types of elemental magic. The flooring of the bleachers started shaking over the people pounding their feets out of excitement. Amongst the crowd was Lyon, Jiniya, Lily, and Metoki who looked a bit bored, yawning and stretching as the participants were introduced. But a student caught Jiniya’s attention. Among the crowd of participants was a young boy, with the face of someone who was within the age gap of 12-14. The young boy with dark brown hair and misty gray eyes, his thin and frail looking body had differentiated him from the rest, the child was like a sore thumb amongst the crowd. To Jiniya’s surprise however, the child met with her eyes and started waving his hand.
The magic trials was an event held every year to which students can showcase their magical abilities and knowledge learned in school. Composed of various events that students have to pass, the magic trials was the most awaited event by the students. But their excitement is not only because of the trials, what excites everyone the most is the Avaritian Magic Tournament. A time in which a simple commoner could prove himself to be stronger than the rest. Earning a spot in the top 5 at the Magic tournament could raise a commoner status to a lesser noble. A lesser noble is someone above the commoners but below the average noble, despite the unequal treatment outside their home, a lesser noble could
A few minutes had passed by ever since Jiniya and Alistair had left the academy, their trip was silent until they reached the busy street. The night was about to come, there were fewer people who were outside. Those who were on the other hand were either eating dinner or taking a stroll. Their journey was supposed to be a silent ride until they reached the palace, until the princess had suddenly asked a question. A sudden traffic then appeared in front of them delaying their time of arrival. “Captain Alister, what commotion is happening inside the palace?” Jiniya asked. Her eyes gazing upon a restaurant filled with nobles, all joyously eating their high quality meal, cooked by high grade chefs. “I am not allowed to speak about it, dear princess” Alistair replied.
Jiniya sat quietly in front of her mirror, as her maids changed her clothes and brushed her hair. Her face emotionless and empty eyes looking at her figure on the reflective mirror. It's been years ever since Lyon gave her that dead glance. "Princess, please stand up…" one of the maids asked. The sound of the explosion brought her back to her usual self. She glanced at the door as the ground was suddenly shooked, not knowing she was undressed she ran towards the door. But was immediately stopped by her maids, she forcefully tried to get their hands off of her. She was pulled and tossed to her bed, coughing and cowering. Tears running down her eyes, she was in pain. The maids didn't know what to do, they were trained to take care of the Princess both physically and ment
