SERENA’S POV

I rushed home from the office, my heels clicking hurriedly against the marble floors. Glancing at the clock, I quickened my pace because the guests were going to arrive any minute. Bursting through the bedroom door, I found Mom laying out the most exquisite gown.

"What do you think, darling?" she asked, eyes twinkling. The dress was a silky champagne color, shimmering in the light. Slender straps crossed over the back, leading down to a modest scoop neck.

"Oh my God! It's utterly breathtaking, Mom. You have fantastic taste as always," I breathed, running my fingers along the soft fabric in awe.

She smiled, pleased with my approval. "Hurry now and change, then do your hair and makeup."

“Thank you so much Mom. I am totally in love with it!”

“Only the best for my darling,” she pulled my cheek tenderly. “Now hurry up, as we do not want to keep the guests waiting.”

I gave a firm nod and with that, she whisked out the door to greet the first arrivals.
