The little witch

Being the eldest child of a couple who maintains a good reputation and has a lot of responsibilities can sometimes be a challenge.

Even if they don't pressure you to be the best, you'll still have that standard within yourself to do just like them or even better.

Proving yourself and doing whatever they ask just to hear the two simple words “Good Job” can be quite pressuring.

And the ironic part is they aren't even pressuring you!

It's just you. It was all you.

And well— that's the exact case for Cameron Thompson.

Done for the night, he dusted off his clothes and made his way towards the conference room to tell his father that he was heading home.

The coven that his father runs is more than a thousand years old. It was bounded by spells and renovations that it has been able to stand and maintain all those years.

No earthquake, storm, or other natural disasters have knocked it down since it was built.

But of course, the ancientness of the place was still obvious.

Walking at the wooden creaky floors of the coven, Cameron shifted his eyes around the hallway looking at the paintings that some of the students have created.

It may come as a surprise to the normal people, but academies that hosts witches, Vampires, and Warewolves as their students actually teach art.

As his eyes wandered around the pretty artworks, his broad body hit something.

Well— someone.

It's not a surprise that history and fairy tales have proclaimed Warewolves and Witches to be the beast and the villain of every story and growing up in the magical word, Cameron had to agree.

They couldn't be more right.

With his one thousand years and eight six days life span, Cameron had seen the most brutal things done by his alpha father and his fellow creatures which had a connection to magic.

Though, nobody kills for fun.

The Thompson's might have murdered some living creatures in the past, but every life they took has a reason behind it.

It might either be a threat or just something that could bring them harm.

They never hurt just because they feel like it.

“Oh, I'm so sorry.” Apologized, Cameron standing up quickly to help the person that he bumped Into.

But to his surprise, no one was there anymore.

Scratching the back of his neck, confused, he roamed his eyes around the hallway when it landed on a girl with wavy blonde hair walking away in the opposite direction in a fast pace.

Despite their distance, he's pretty sure that she was the one that he bumped into because no one else was in the long hallway.

Instead of going after her and apologizing like the gentleman that he is, he just chose to shake it off and continue to the conference room like what he wanted to do before he bumped to the rude stranger.

It doesn't even seem like she was bothered anyway, so what's the point?

Shaking the thought aside, he walked in towards the conference room.

The conference room has the biggest space in the entire coven because it's mostly used for everything.

During parties or simply just when they have a lot of visitors, they use it.

As Cameron was just about to open the door of the conference room, an unfamiliar face opened it before him and walked away.

And soon enough, more followed.

He assumed that they were the troubled witches by his auntie Camille that his dad agreed to have.

He's pretty sure that they were all teenagers, considering the fact that they all look like it.

Some were rude, but some of them waved at him and smiled.

Once everyone was out, he went directly inside to see his father, Gavin Thompson, making his way out of the room with a worried expression plastered on his face.

“Greetings father.” Greeted Cameron to his father, who he instantly got a feedback from.

“Oh praise Lucifer you're here son,” Said his father in relief. “I see that you're about to go home, but can you help me with something for a while?” He added with a pleading look that he knew Cameron can resist.

“Of course,” Said Cameron, trying to sound enthusiastic, even though he just wanted to pass out in the coven's floor and drift off to sleep. “What do you need help for?” He added, leaning on the nearby wall with his arms folded on his chest.

“There's this girl, she was one of the witches that your aunt Camille sent me. She was pure trouble, we need to take her inside right now, but I don't even know where the heaven she is!” His dad exclaimed furiously.

Having troubled species from the dark isn't actually that big of a surprise to Cameron.

Being his dad's “Unofficial sidekick” for how many years, he had served and assisted the most wicked and troublesome witches, vampires, and Warewolves.

He was always successful in handling them, but he was pretty sure that this witch girl that his father was talking about was different.

Gavin wouldn't be this furious if he can handle her himself.

“Well, can you at least tell me what she looks like?” Asked Cameron, wanting to get this over with as fast as he could.

“She has wavy honey blonde hair, blue eyes and light freckles across her nose. She was wearing a jean jacket and skinny jeans the last time I saw her, which was like 15 minutes ago.” Gavin explained as realization hit him.

“So that was her,” Said Cameron under his breath, starting to get interested. “I'll go get her.” He added with a much louder voice, before walking out of the room and using his superior senses to track the girl.

Being the Alpha's son, Cameron knew that his dad had enough power, and he would have found this girl in the first place if he wanted to.

Unfortunately, he had other responsibilities to attend to, which is more interesting than going after a teenage troublemaker who's probably throwing hexes around already.

Bumping at her earlier, her minty vanilla smell lingered at Cameron's shirt, and it didn't take him long to finally find her.

She was sitting in one of the benches under a dark tree outside the Coven with a cigarette in her hand.

He sighed at that.

“You know that consuming a cigarette here is against the rules, right? And for someone your age, it's illegal for you to even have that in the first place.” He scolded, walking slowly to the girl who was facing him backwards.

When he does this to other witches, they would immediately lie and start acting like a mortal, but this girl was different.

All he heard from her is a chuckle.

A dark chuckle.

“I make my own rules,” She said, blowing a smoke, standing up from the bench and turning around to face him. “Nobody tells me what to do.” She added nonchalantly.

If you listen to her words, she was being stubborn.

But the way she said it made Cameron gave in to her stubbornness.

She was still standing under the tree, and he can't clearly see her face, but he's sure that she was gorgeous.

There's just no way that someone with that kind of voice can't be appealing.

“Okay,” He said after a minute or two, trying to find a way to not be attracted to this menace.

His father's order was clear.

He was supposed to find her, and bring her inside.

It was a vivid and simple order, yet he can't bring himself to do it.

He just can't.

“Who are you?” She finally asked after a minute or two of silence.

“I'm Cameron,” He responded. “Cameron Thompson.” He added, making sure not to say anything but his name.

“You're Alpha Gavin's son?” She asked, finally stepping out of the dark tree giving him a clear look of her physical features.

It was still dark, but the moonlight reflected her face.

She had this waist long blonde hair and her face screamed innocence.

His jaw dropped from the sight of it.

He knew that it was very inappropriate for him to be even attracted to this girl, but he can't help it.

She was gorgeous.

“Y—yes.” He stuttered.

After that, there was silence.

He didn't know how long he stood there looking at her, but it felt like a blur to him.

All he did the entire time was just stood there and stare at her with his mouth slightly open.

“What does he want?” She asked, breaking the silence, throwing her cigarette as she walked towards him.

Cameron gulped at that.

His father was an alpha and his family resemble dominance.

But this girl took it away from him.

“He wants you to come inside,” He spoke, making her stop in her tracks.

Her expression was as if she were considering a choice, but that immediately changed.

“Tell him to fuck off.” The words slipped out of her kissable pink lips nonchalantly like she use to say it every day.

Hearing her say those words from her made all of his attraction towards her vanish.

Cameron loved his father, and he isn't going to let his affection towards this girl ruin that.

His father was a very well-respected individual that he himself look up to, and he surely won't allow a hopeless teenage witch to disrespect his father's legacy in front of his face.

“Well, maybe you should tell that to him yourself,” He said angrily, speeding towards the girl, yanking her tiny arm a little harder than he intended to.

She glared at him for that.

The reason why she's here in the first place was because she murdered and beaten a little to too many creatures and base on her current situation, it looks like she's about to do it again.

But she really wished that she doesn't have to.

“Let go of me.” She demanded, gritting her teeth.

“I don't see that happening,” He responded, tightening his grasp, not caring if he was hurting her or whatever.

“You don't want to do this.” She threatened, looking at him dead in the eyes.

From her physical appearance, it's totally unexpected that she was going to react this way.

She was like five feet tall, and her form was curvy and petite.

Girls like her wouldn't dare talk to the Alpha's son like this.

Her freaking audacity is too much for her to talk shit about one of the members of the same family that gracefully opened their door for her.

“What if I do?” He challenged, closing the distance between them.

They're both strangers to each other, and they've never meet before.

They also don't know each other's capabilities, and the way they're handling their situation right now is dangerous.

It's dangerous.

“You wouldn't like it,” Said the stubborn blonde, keeping her head held up high.

“How would you know what I like when you don't even know me?” He quirked, raising one of his eyebrow.

“Because you're normal,” She answered, looking at him in the eye. “And normal creatures don't like the things that I do.” She added, darting her eyes down to his lips.

“And what if I tell you that I'm not normal?” He challenged again, now loosening his grasp a little as her upper arm was becoming more and more tense every passing second.

“Then,” She spoke with a pause. “Then you're just like me.” She added, looking at him with her oceanic blue eyes that were protected by her unbelievably long eyelashes.

Her previous state wasn't visible in her sentence anymore.

She wasn't mad, demanding, stubborn, and fierce.

All he can see and feel was her vulnerability.

“I think I would be okay living with that,” He said with a light chuckle, letting go of her completely.

And just as those words slipped off his mouth, she was back again.

“Stay away from me.”
