Johnson was walking aimlessly thinking about what had just taken place in his office a while ago. As he tried to understand Alexandrine’s thoughts on signing the divorce papers without raising any objections, he was brought back to the past once more. This time around, it was about his past with Tina and how their relationship derives.
“ Johnson, why did you suddenly call me out here?” Tina came to Jason’s encounter. Johnson called her to come to a park which he decorated himself with attention and care. Tina was too preoccupied with the reason Johnson had suddenly asked to meet that she didn’t notice the decorations around the park at all.
“ Tina, I called you here today because I have something important to tell you.”
Suddenly, Johnson got one knee and extended to Tina what seemed like a tiny little gift box with an ornament ring inside. He was smiling and gesticulating during the whole scene. With happiness and hope in his eyes and heart, he forwarded the famous question to his girlfriend, “ Tina, my love, will you make me the happiest man alive and accept my proposal?”
Tina looked as if she was in a daze. For the last five minutes, she just stood there without uttering a single word or making a single noise. It was as if she was trying to process the situation in front of her one way or another.
Worried that his girlfriend hadn’t uttered anything for the last five minutes, Johnson felt weird inside. “ Tina, is everything alright?” Why have you suddenly gone quiet? Is everything alright with you?”
After a long time of being quiet, Tina muttered the following as soon as she opened her mouth, “ Did you just propose to me, Johnson?”
Seeing the expression on Tina’s face, Johnson was feeling the same weird feeling he felt before. Answering Tina’s question, he mumbled, “ Yes, I did. What about it?”
Taking deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling, Tina retorted coldly back to Johnson, “ I’m sorry, Johnson, but I can’t marry you—------- for now.”
Johnson stood back up not understanding why Tina would reject his proposal. All kinds of thoughts started crossing his mind at once, like Tina probably found someone else which was why she was rejecting him.
Tina stopped his baseless reflections with a statement, “ It’s not like I don’t wish to marry you, Johnson; It’s just that I don’t want it to be now.”
Everything Tina was saying didn’t make sense to Johnson; He didn’t understand Tina or at least, he couldn’t understand her.
“ I don’t understand you, Tina,” Jason mumbled. “ I’m trying but I can’t understand why you would suddenly reject my proposal?”
Tina gasped before answering, “ I like our current relationship better; Why waste the whole by getting entangled?” Johnson still didn’t understand Tina’s point of view until she said, “ I just think what we have will change if we got married, you know—-----------”
“ Maybe, you’re right.” Johnson finally said in annoyance.
Seeing how hard he was taking the whole affair, a conniving idea suddenly sprouted in Tina’s mind.
“ If you want to get married that badly, why don’t we do this instead?” Tina’s sudden change of tone apprehended Johnson’s attention.
“ What?”
“ Why don’t you fulfill your parent's demands and get married to a girl of their choice?” Tina sneered, irritating Johnson in the process.
“ Get married to someone else? What are you—--------?”
Tina anticipated his anger and said quickly, “ Don’t lose your cool until you’ve listened to the whole thing?”
???
“ Please your parents and get married to a girl of their choosing. If within a year, we still feel the same about each other as we do now, then we can get married. What do you say to that? It’s not a bad deal, is it?”
Johnson was too lost for words to react in any way. His silence started to worry Tina as he’d been quiet for such a long time. Johnson noticed her anxiousness and mumbled, “ If that’s what you truly want, then, I’ll comply with your request.”
“ Really!-------- I knew it, I knew you’d understand my point somehow.” Tina hugged Johnson happily but the latter didn’t return it.
From that day onwards, Johnson did as it was expected of him by his parents. On one of the numerous blind dates his parents set for him, he met Alexandrine, and the two got acquainted with each other.
One day, after accepting his proposal to get married, Johnson asked Alexandrine about her situation.
“ Are you also in the same predicament that I am?” Alexandrine didn’t understand what Jason suddenly meant as she asked her that question. She was kind of confused and thought of asking him for clarification but decided against it at the last minute.
“ Did you also have someone in your life you’re trying to forget?” Johnson mumbled once more. “ Is that why you accepted my proposal?” Understanding his point, Alexandrine thought of what to tell him.
“ Yes, that’s right!” She nodded. “ My ex-boyfriend left me for another girl. Can you believe it?” It was obvious to Alexandrine that telling the truth to Johnson would make matters complicated, so instead, she decided to play along.”
“ I’m relieved to hear that.” Johnson slightly grinned. “ Let’s both do our best to have a pleasant and joyful relationship!”
“ Yeah!” Johnson and Alexandrine shook hands, terminating the flashback.
Back to the present day, Johnson was still very much upset about Alexandrine signing the divorce papers quite easily and thought to himself that maybe he never meant anything to Alexandrine in the first place.
A sudden thought crossed Johnson’s mind, a thought he didn’t envision. “ Did she perhaps reconcile with her ex-boyfriend? Could that be why she was in a hurry to sign the divorce papers?”
Johnson’s thoughts were interrupted by a phone call from Alexandrine.
“ Hello, Alexandrine!” Johnson picked up the phone call. From the other line, Alexandrine kept silent for several seconds before actually saying what she intended to say.
“ I just called to let you know I’ll be moving from your house today; that’s why I called.” After saying what she intended to say, Alexandrine hung up the phone call and so did Johnson.
Hearing Alexandrine’s voice over the phone and thinking back on all their moments together, Johnson started having doubts about Alexandrine and their relationship. To clear his head, he entered his car and drove off to Tina’s place.
Meanwhile, in Johnson’s apartment, Alexandrine was packing her stuff in a suitcase. As she was packing her stuff one by one, she stumbled upon their wedding picture frame. Holding the frame tightly in her hand, a tear escaped her eyes and fell right through the picture.
“ To think that everything is over now and that there's nothing I can do to change the current situation. That’s so upsetting—------ It’s not fair that I have to give up on him when I love him so much. Not fair, not fair—--” Alexandrine mumbled in anger.
“ We look so good in this picture frame, but it’s unfortunate how none of these had ever been real in the first place; they were all just a sweet dream I’ve had, an illusion and nothing more than that.”
As she put back the wedding picture frame where it belonged, she went back to packing her things in the suitcase. Johnson on the other hand had just reached Tina’s place at long last.
Upon seeing Johnson in front of her door, Tina ran into his arms and kissed him crazily to which Johnson reciprocated just as much. They quickly moved from the front door to the bedroom where Johnson kept kissing Tina.“ I’m sorry, Johnson, about the past and my irresolution of being together. I’m sorry for rejecting you and asking you to get married to someone else. I’m sorry, Johnson, I’m so sorry about everything.” Tina apologized through and through to Johnson as she kept kissing him.Seeing his crush’s sorrowful expression melted Johnson’s heart, who thought of taking things to the next level, but unfortunately, he couldn’t, or rather, he couldn’t get an erection out of making out with Tina no matter how much he tried. Rather than getting an erection, Alexandrine’s face kept appearing to him repeatedly. In those appearances, Alexandrine’s face and expression were sad and transparent, and seeing those expressions pained Jason so much that he stopped touching Tina.“ What’s going o
The conversation between Tina and Johnson continued from where it had left off.“ And just like every year, we're going to go pick up grandma’s birthday present together, don’t we?” He muttered joyfully to which Tina retorted by saying, “ I see you haven’t forgotten our tradition even after the lifestyle change. I’ll be reaching your apartment in half an hour.”The call ended and Joynson dropped his phone on the bedside and headed for a shower. Meanwhile, Alexandrine was just about done with Johnson’s breakfast. She daydreamed as she imagined they spending some romantic moments over breakfast, however, her daydream was interrupted by a sudden knock on the door.“ Who could it be this early in the morning? Are we expecting anyone?” Alexandrine wandered as she headed towards the door to see who it was that had unexpectedly shown up without notice. When she opened the door and saw Tina standing there, she froze. BY her presence alone, she remembered the sudden pain in her heart and the p
Once in the car, as Jonhson was driving her to the hospital and remembering the events occurring in the dining hall earlier, Alexandrine mumbled, “ Johnson, about earlier, I’m sorry!”Alexandrine’s sudden apologetic tone surprised Johnson who had yet to understand why exactly Alexandrine was apologizing to him. “ Why are you apologizing to me out of the blue like that?” Johnson asked his wife.Alexandrine hesitated before finally responding, “ That’s because you had to cancel your plans with Ms. Tina due to my situation and that is why I’m apologizing to you. Sorry for ruining your plans.”Johnson looked at Alexandrine in a daze. He couldn’t understand her nor could he see through her heart to know exactly the deepness of her heart and what she was feeling deep down. At that moment, however, without thinking much, he uttered to his wife, “ Don’t sweat it, Alexandrine!” You’re my wife, Alexandrine and as your husband, it’s my responsibility to take care of you and make sure you’re alri
A few moments before the call with Alexandrine took place—----------“ Tina, what are you doing sitting here alone?” Feeling uncomfortable due to Johnson's grandmother’s words, Tina escaped to the living room where she sat and reminisced about the event that had taken place between them when Johnson unexpectedly arrived.“ You have not answered me, Tina?” What are you doing here alone?” Johnson asked his first love once again to which she finally responded, “ What else can I do but sit here alone?”“ Grandmother doesn’t like me and will never accept our relationship.” What else can I do but weep here silently?”Johnson felt sorry for Tina’s situation; He felt the need to comfort her but thought that it wouldn’t make her feel better completely. Johnson suddenly remembered how his grandmother was fond of Alexandrine and thought of an idea that might make Tina feel better.“ You shouldn’t worry needlessly like that, Tina, because things will be just fine,” Johnson uttered to Tina who had
" A child you say?"" Yes, I think a child would put an ultimate end to his debauchery. You should seriously think about it, my child."Alexandrine sighed deeply and said to Johnson's grandmother in a rather sad tone, " I know you're very hopeful about this relationship but I don't think a child will make things any easier between us." Alexandrine uttered. " On the contrary, if we had a child, that poor soul would be nothing more than a bargaining chip between the two of us. I don't want Johnson to be obligated to stay with me just because I'll be having his child."" What's the need to stay with me if there are no feelings attached; I don’t want that kind of life and neither do I want my child to have such a sad and unfulfilled life."Alexandrine was feeling deeply hurt with each word pronounced. The grandmother could feel through her words how deeply hurt and shattered she was about her grandson." It's okay, grandmother. I'll be alright and I think you should let Johnson live the l
" What were you trying to do to me as I was unconscious and defenseless?" Johnson looked at Alexandrine with deep desire burning in his eyes. Alexandrine tried to get him to move, but he was too strong for her." You like playing with fire, don't you?" Johnson muttered as he placed a kiss between Alexandrine's neck. The latter froze to the touch." Why is he doing this to me when he doesn't even love me or have any truest feelings toward me?" As he kept kissing her more and more down the line, Alexandrine became confused as to her husband’s intentions and aims.In the middle of their passionate night, Johnson muttered out of the blue, " You're a liar and a betrayer. Why did you betray me like this? Why? Why?"" Betrayal? Lies?" What is he talking about?" Alexandrine was confused and tried to understand her husband’s allegations." What are you talking about, Johnson?" She tried to get the truth out of her husband’s mouth. " When have I betrayed you?" She asked him repeatedly.Johnson
Tina was still crying right in front of me as she tangled with me, I didn't push her away as I was expecting Alexandrine to react to the situation and take her ground, but nothing like that happened." Come down for breakfast as soon as you can." Without giving a damn about the current situation, she walked out of the bedroom and shut the door behind her." Why is she reacting like that after everything that happened between us last night?" I subconsciously wondered as I recollected yesterday's events and how Alexandrine felt good and secured in my arms.Feeling angry due to Alexandrine indifferent behavior, I grabbed Tina by the hand and as I pulled her through to me, I kissed her fiercely. Tina and I enjoyed the kiss until I didn't want it anymore.Tina, thinking I had forgotten everything that had occurred the previous night, was taken aback when I suddenly pushed her away from me and said coldly, " Why did you show up at my house after last night's show?"I was angry and I wasn't
Happy that Tina had finally gone home, Johnson thought he and Alexandrine would enjoy a romantic breakfast together like they used to.“ Aren’t you going to have breakfast?” Johnson asked his wife, who replied, “ I’m not hungry, Johnson, but don’t mind me and eat your fill.Alexandrine’s tone toward her husband was cold and indifferent. Johnson felt hurt for some reason but didn’t say a thing. After finishing his breakfast, Johnson wanted to kiss his wife before going to work, but Alexandrine avoided it, saying she had some stuff to tend to, and left. Johnson left the house in anger but Alexandrine didn’t let that affect her in the slightest.“ I’m sorry, Johnson, but I can’t allow you to continue humiliating me like this.” Alexandrine subconsciously thought after Johnson left for work.As she finished everything she had to do in the house, Alexandrine left for her parents' house to seek some advice. It had been a long time since Alexandrine’s mom saw her daughter ever since she got m
