3. Werewolves

--

"Yesran has no mate, Ricky!"

"A special child of the Moon Goddess has no mate, she lives for herself. If someone secretly claims Yesran without knowing her life will never be the same again."

Yesran recalled what Melia faintly said yesterday when she walked back to her room.

Startling. Very.

But Yesran was not down for too long, she was not so surprised and felt devastated when she found out that Melia kept many secrets from her.

Yesran believes that the mother has her reasons, and there is also a reason why she chose not to tell Yesran about it.

Yesran secretly found out. New vocabulary that Yesran did not know. She had searched her cell phone search page but found nothing. The only thing Yesran found was a link to a fantasy fiction about werewolves.

Everything. Be it heat, she, and mate, claims, they're all synonymous with werewolf fiction.

Surprisingly, Yesran's cell phone couldn't find many articles related to werewolves and such creatures, all seemed to be restricted. Yesran suspects that Melia has set her cell phone in such a way that Yesran can't find out or open the article page about the creatures of the night.

So, the only thing Yesran could do was go to the library to find a non-fiction book about werewolves.

"Where are you going, Yesran?" asked Melia when Yesran came down the stairs in neat clothes and carrying a bag.

Yesran smiled sweetly. Answer. "I'm going to go see my other friends for a bit, we'll be moving soon I don't think it's appropriate to just leave without saying goodbye."

Melia didn't answer right away, she was silent for a few seconds before smiling back. "But you're still sick."

It seems hard for Melia to let Yesran go while the worries are there.

Yesran understood that Melia was worried about her, but she also couldn't help being curious about the reason behind that worry.

Why did Yesran get hidden? Yesran wants to know about her true identity.

Yesran shook her head slightly.

"I'm fine," Yesran said to her mother. "I feel much better already, don't worry, I'm going first, mother!"

And without waiting for Melia to answer Yesran had already run away, left the house, walked to the bus stop, and then got on the bus to the library.

It didn't take too long to reach the city library, a large place full of books where she could find everything she could read. Yesran asked where she could find a book about werewolves at the librarian, the adult man wearing glasses was silent for a moment before leading Yesran to where the mythological book was.

Yesran walked along the shelves with wide eyes, her steps were slow, and then, not wanting to waste time, Yesran began to browse the books on the mythological shelf.

Vampire.

Nymph.

Elves.

Siren.

And many more non-fiction books that tell the origin of mythological creatures from various continents. As many people know, vampires are blood-sucking predators, Elves are fairies who have extraordinary powers, and sirens are mythological creatures who guard the sea.

Yesran put the book about Siren back on the shelf, then her fingers moved to the next books.

Yesran's fingers stopped moving. Yesran's eyes narrowed when she saw the writing on the dark blue cover book.

Werewolf chronicles.

Yesran took the book.

The book is thick, not having so many pages but the author uses high-quality paper to make this book thick. Then when she opened the book, Yesran was surprised when she realized that the book was written by hand.

Yesran took the book to one of the reading tables, opened it, and read each line of the book carefully.

A werewolf is an ancient European mythological creature in the form of half human and half wolf, the werewolf will form like a normal human in general and will turn into a fierce wolf when the full moon is.

Yesran changed the sheets of the book.

The Goddess of the Moon, the Goddess worshiped by the werewolves.

Yesran took a breath, she remembered Melia saying that Yesran was a special child of the Moon Goddess. What does it mean?

Having not found the answers to all the questions in her mind, Yesran continued reading the book.

"Alpha," Yesran whispered as she touched the book in front of her. "The term for the leader wolf who leads the pack of other wolves in a pack. Alphas are born with the destiny of a leader. An Alpha usually has very great abilities, a strong aura, and a pheromone that can make any female wolf go crazy."

Yesran was silent for a few seconds, she thought of something, but quickly Yesran shook the thought away, and continue reading. Besides Alpha, a pack also has a position called Beta, Delta, Gemma, and finally Omega. All are sorted by strength and power.

There is also a wild werewolf called Rogue. A wolf that doesn't tie itself to any pack.

Yesran changed the sheets of the book.

"Mate," Yesran said reading the next page. "The fateful bond of the Moon Goddess where werewolves have one Mate in their life. Wolves are known to be loyal animals. When a werewolf finds its mate a great attraction cannot be denied, and usually, the male wolf will make a claim—"

Yesran stopped reading.

Claim?

"By . . . biting the female's neck so no other male wolves approach their female."

Yesran's heart was beating fast. The girl's fingers slowly lifted and held her left neck. Why is all this connected? The dream of time and the facts that Yesran read, why did everything suddenly make sense?

"My advice is to ask the source directly if it's urgent."

Yesran jumped in surprise. She almost fell while backing away but the man who came from nowhere helped to keep her balance, and wrapped his arms around Yesran's shoulders firmly.

"Zane," said Yesran unconsciously. Coincidence who knows how many times?

The tall, big man who looked dashing replied. "Yesran."

Yesran had heard this voice in her dream, but when she heard this deep voice directly Yesran's heart was made to flutter.

Zane removed his hand from Yesran's shoulder, he even looked very attractive when he sat beside Yesran without needing to ask permission or be asked first.

"Looking for some reading?" asked Zane then.

"Just a light reading," replied Yesran, moving away a little. “Fiction is not bad at all to read when bored.”

"You think everything written there is just fiction?" Zane replied with a calm face, or Yesran could feel the cold aura from this man.

Yesran blinked doubtfully. "Sorry?"

"The werewolf and the Moon Goddess, do you think it's just fiction?" Zane asked again, repeating. The man's eyes stared at Yesran intensely.

Yesran looked away, gulping before answering.

"Yes, of course," answered Yesran. "You don't think that demons are real, do you?"

Zane laughed curtly. "Demon?"

"What's the correct name? creature?" Yesran shrugged. "Werewolves, vampires, Dracula, things like that are just mythology."

Zane nodded curtly. "Maybe you'll find the answer yourself later."

"I heard you're moving tomorrow?" Zane asked.

They haven't even gotten to know each other well, isn't it strange to have a close conversation like this to talk about Yesran's move?

Yesran smiled a little. "It seems that the rats on the campus roof also know the news."

After saying that Yesran looked down again to read the book on the table.

"The most important part of the book is on the last page," Zane said suddenly, causing Yesran to look up and look back. "Maybe by reading that you'll get answers to all the questions in your head."

Yesran began to feel strange. Zane said as if he knew what Yesran wanted to know from this book.

Yesterday, when Yesran saw Zane for the first time in the campus cafeteria, she smelled an extraordinary fragrance from Zane's body, not to mention when Zane appeared in Yesran's dream in a very strange condition.

All of that doesn't make sense. But everything happened and Yesran felt it.

Yesran believes that she must ask Melia everything, she must not get too close to other people before she gets confirmation.

"I have to go home," Yesran said quickly while pointing to the sky outside. It was almost evening and the sky looked cloudy.

Without hearing Zane's answer, Yesran stood up from her chair and returned the thick book about werewolves to the bookshelf.

"Let me deliver, our house is in the same direction."

Even Zane knows where Yesran lives. There's nothing crazier than that.

"Where do you live?" asked Yesran later, pretending to be calm and friendly.

Zane answered. “A region called Hustlewood.”

"I've never heard of it," replied Yesran doubtfully, Yesran is also a transfer who has only lived in this city for a few months so she doesn't know the names of other areas. "Thanks for your kind offer, but I'm so sorry I had to turn it down."

"Why?" Zane asked again. As if not accepted. Like someone who just received a rejection for the first time.

Yesran was silent for a moment. She took a breath and answered. "My mom won't let me get close to a guy, she'll be mad if she knows you're taking me home."

Zane did not answer Yesran's sentence.

Yesran blinked slowly, she grabbed the bag and reached into its contents, took out a red Lollipop, and gave it to Zane. "Thanks for helping me back then, Zane."
