11: The Kids Are Worried

The drive to the rented apartment didn't take us long, and we arrived.

After we alighted from the car, Hakim reversed the car and brought out his hand from the window. "This is the key to your apartment, ma'am. Enjoy your stay," he remarked, handed me the key, and was about to storm off when I yelled.

"Wait, you will have to show us some certain things in there; we're just new here and need proper orientation," I stated.

"Okay, then," he responded, and he alighted from the car, and we sauntered into the building.

I glare around the corner, grasping my babies firmly, because I am scared. Who knows if this place is very safe? Or an arranged building to exploit us.

"This is your room, and that is your kid's room," he stated. "Do you have any problems with this?" he added.

"Actually, I would prefer to stay in the same room with my kids; they are too young to stay in a room alone, a room that isn't even in our house," I responded.
