KABANATA 35: Again

“Uy, Hugo.” I turned to Nala, who poked my shoulder while I was busy with my laptop.

“Yes, baby?” I asked and turned to her.

“Ipagtimpla mo ulit ako ng pineapple juice, please...” she said while blinking her eyes cutely.

My brow creased a bit. “Baby, you just finished a pitcher of pineapple juice a while ago.”

She pouted her lips. “Ayaw mo ba?”

Umiling ako. “Hindi naman. I’m just worried that your mouth and food pipe might get sore if you drink too much pineapple juice. Baka makasama sa kalusugan mo.”

“So, ayaw mo nga?” She asked and glared at me. She crossed her arms over her chest.

I gulped. Galit ba siya? She misunderstood what I said! I inhale enough oxygen into my lungs and exhale it afterwards before standing up.

“Ipapagtitimpla na kita,” I said.

She grinned and kissed my cheeks quickly. “Thank you, baby. I love you!”
