Poisoned.

Chapter Five.

Anastasia's Pov.

Who is the father of your child?" He asked me on my way out of the office.

Why would he ask such personal questions, I turned back at him. I felt he was joking at first, but he looked so serious.

Should I tell him the truth or I should just lie to him and go? Or I shouldn't reply to him at all? Will I lose my job if I do not tell him the truth?

"Sir, I don't think I should be asked that question. I came here to work. Asking such questions might be an invasion of my privacy." I blurted out forgetting he was the one employing me. After all the questions I asked myself, I still ended up saying what I was not supposed to say.

"I'm so sorry if I had said what I am not supposed to." I apologized immediately I realized I said.

"It's okay, I guess I was the one who made a mistake. You can get going now." Tristan apologized to me the focusing on what he was working on.

I hurriedly walked out of the room with my face all red. I took a huge sigh of relief remembering my pay for the month.

The secretary had a permanent seat along the hallway, I walked up to her and tried to put on a smiley face.

"Sir Tristan told me to meet you for more information about what I am to do as his assistant." I informed her. She shot me daggers like I once got into a fight with her before. I don't even know who the hell she was

Why is she angry at me? Do I have anything to do with her misfortune?

"There are a lot of things you will have to do since you are his assistant." She informed, then stretched out a sheet of paper with written words on it. I wondered what the sheet was for.

"Take it, it contains what you will be doing for him as his assistant." She dropped it on the floor.

I picked it up immediately and read through it. Woah! That is a lot of work for me. I squeezed my face in surprise, I was still shocked by the list that was there.

"What happened? Do you want to quit? There are a lot of people out there who want this job?" The secretary queried me. I bet she must have seen the expression on my face.

Wait, why is she treating me this way? Who the hell does she think she is?

"Miss Cassy, I don't know why you are angry at me, don't you think you should be a little bit friendly? You have been frowning a lot, that is why your wrinkles are getting more visible at your young age." I blurted out without feeling any remorse. I got to remember her name since Tristan told me at the office earlier.

"What the hell are you saying, huh? Who do you think you are to talk to me this way?" She banged her hand on the table which caused a really loud vibrating sharp noise.

"What's going on here?" Someone interrupted us with her loud voice. I turned back and saw the lady who interviewed me with Damon.

I know how much she hates me. I stood there looking at her, she would do anything for me to get out of this company.

"Uhm, nothing ma'am. She was just asking me a few questions, so I got annoyed." Cassie tried defending me. She should have told Penelope the truth, I wondered what stopping her from telling her the truth.

"That doesn't mean you should cause noise." Penelope warned, and then she entered the room that was opposite theirs. Is that her office room?

"I thought they stayed in the same room? Turned out her office is opposite to his?" I got curious, and it wasn't my fault I got curious.

I saw a desk in Tristan's room this morning which I imagined that it belonged to her.

"No! Unfortunately. The two are friends, some think they are dating. They are not though, you just have to be careful. She has anger issues, trust me you wouldn't want to get on her nerves." Cassie told me

"I thought you were angry at me earlier! What happened? You changed your mind?" I noticed how friendly she became when she started talking about Penelope.

It was then she cleared her throat and raised her Chin.

"Who told you I am being friendly? Read the documents and ask me questions." Cassie instructed.

"I am done reading it already! Don't I have a seat? Will I be standing all day?" I queried. I looked around then I noticed there was no desk for me to sit on.

"Who told you there is a seat for you here? You will be sitting together with Tristan inside his office." She informed me.

No! She must be joking. There is no way I would be seating in the same office with him! A Werewolf? A billionaire? How am I going to concentrate with how cute he is? How wonderful his eyes were.

"I am not joking, he must be expecting you in his office by now." Can these people read minds now, huh?

I grabbed my suitcase that I placed on my table, and walked back into his office immediately after knocking.

"I already asked her what I am going to be doing! She explained it well." I told him. He didn't bother to reply me.

He was engrossed with the work he was doing.

The office was spacious and well-appointed, with high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light.

The walls were made of glass, and the furniture was sleek and modern.

At the end of the room, there was a large desk where the employer could work. Then at the front of the desk by the sudd, there was a comfortable chair in the room which I assumed to be mine.

Nearby, there was a conference table for meetings with clients or other staff members. Overall, the office was functional and inviting.

This wasn't the office he used for the interview though. It was much bigger than this one.

I went to the desk there, and started working on few things. It was as if he couldn't see me or notice my presence in the room. He is a Werewolf, I'm sure he must have noticed my presence when he came in. The arrangement wasn't my taste I'm just going to arrange later.

"Get me a cup of coffee." He instructed.

"Oh no! How could I forget one of the most crucial thing?" I muttered under my breath.

"Do you realize you are loud? You should looked at the rules more so you will not forget next time." He corrected. I didn't bother to say anything and left his room.

"How could I forget the most crucial thing? The fact that he is a Werewolf? And he will be able to hear every single thing as long as it comes out of my mouth." I asked myself.

I walked out of the office, and went ahead to prepare his coffee. I went to the company's restaurant so as to get the coffee.

"Please I would love to order the regular." I told the lady who was in charge.

"What do you mean by the regular? Can't you just be straight forward, and say what exactly you want?" The lady shouted at her.

"I mean what the CEO do take? He sent me here." I explained further.

"I don't know what he takes, this is the first time I will be going for something like this" she said to me.

Why did he send me here when he knows that he doesn't take coffee fromm the company.

I think the employees in the company has a thing for getting so disrespectful. Can't they be at least polite. I wonder how they got into this big company with this kind of behavior.

I will just go for the type of coffee I love taking.

"Can you give me a hazelnut blend coffee? With a little bit of milk mixed in it?" I requested.

Then she went ahead to prepare it.

"Thank you very much." I appreciated immediately she handed over the coffee to me.

I took it back to the office, using the escalator that was there. I decided to use it today since I have been taking the lift a lot.

I did the usual them handed over the coffee to him. He gulped down everything. I went back to my seat.

"What did you add to my drink?" He queried after few seconds of taking a sip of the drink I gave to him.

His eyes were turning red already, his veins were visible and his face was red. I didn't know what to do that instant, his hands were also shaking. He fell down from his seat completely.

"Oh my goodness what have I done? Did I add anything to his drink without knowing" I asked myself.

What should I do? I don't want to get fired.
