Quit.

Chapter Seven.

Anastasia's POV.

"What's happening? Why are you here? Why are you panicking?" Cassie questioned me immediately after she saw me panicking. I pointed to his office, trying to talk. I didn't even know how I was going to construct the statement.

Furthermore, I didn't know if I poisoned him or something else. People might think I poisoned him when I didn't even do anything.

"I think I poisoned Tristan, he is currently dying. I don't know what I did wrong... I, uh, I have him a coffee, and then he is groaning in pain currently...I...I...I think it must have been from where I got it from." I stuttered. Not only that, but I could see her standing up

"You did what?" Cassie asked in shock, dropping the pen that was in her hands.

It was then that I heard the slamming of the door, it turned out that Penelope had already rushed inside his office

"On your first day?" Cassie stood up and hurriedly walked into the room. I just stood out, wondering what was going to happen to me that instant.

After a few minutes of pacing up and down outside, Penelope finally walked out.

"You? I'm actually hurt. I don't have any right to fire you, I would have done it straight away." Penelope eyed me, then walked back into her office.

"How is he? What happened?" I asked Cassie immediately when she came outside.

"It seems like he has an allergy to what you gave him, thanks to her super healing power, he was saved." Cassie stated.

"Is he going to fire me? I didn't know he had something like that." It was very obvious that I was scared.

My voice was quivering in fear.

"You can go in, he is better now. He doesn't look like he was going to fire you." Cassie stated, then went ahead to sit.

"What are you waiting for? Go in! He isn't going to bite you." Cassie urged me

I took up all the courage and walked into his office. How does it feel to walk into the office of someone you almost killed? You should imagine it.

He was sitting on his chair, his face was all read. I took a cup and collected water from the water dispenser, which I then gave him to drink.

"You can have some water." I placed the glass cup on the table with my hands shaking.

"I am so sorry. I didn't know you had an allergy to something like that. I am so sorry. Please, I don't want to get fired. I am begging you." I went on my knees immediately.

"If I wanted to fire you, I would have done it now. It's not your fault, by the way. You can continue your job." Tristan said to me.

"I don't take hazelnut, I have an allergy to it. You should note that next time." Tristan told me.

"Alright then." I answered him with my head still bowed.

Wait? Is he just going to let me off that way? Is he not going to punish me or something?

"What are you waiting for? Do you have anything else you want to tell me?" He queried.

"Oh no!!! I was, uhm...uhmm lost. I will get back to work now." I said to him, then walked to where my seat was.

I was eyeing him during the course of my work. It was a very long day. The time was 9:00pm.

Cassie has already clocked out for more than two hours while I am still here working.

All the workers must have clocked out, I still needed to schedule and edit some of his meetings for the month. It was a long night for me.

I dared not ask him when we would be leaving the company. Thank goodness, I told Susan to help me take Ashley from school.

That way, things will be easier for me.

"Finally." I muttered under my breath that I was done with my job. I removed my glasses, but he was still working. He looked so engrossed in whatever he was doing.

When was he going to finish? It looked as if he still had a lot he wanted to do.

I was so scared to ask him when he was going to be done. I didn't know when I became engulfed in my sleep. I slept off without knowing.

"Hey Sam." His voice jolted me from my sleep.

I woke up looking confused and acting like I wasn't sleeping.

"I'm sorry, I was just resting." I bent my head as I slid my hair behind my ear.

"You are driving me home." He handed me the keys and walked out of his office. I didn't know why he was acting this way.

Sometimes he will act like he is kind, and sometimes he will act like a cold, heated person. Can he be definite with his emotions? I am tired of him confusing me this way.

He should just be straightforward.

I carried my bag, then followed him, and we took the elevator. The only people present in the company at that moment were the security guards.

They were a lot, by the way, patrolling around the compound. I wonder how I am going to get Susan's car out of this place. I carried her car to work this morning, not knowing I would be leaving it here.

Tristan entered his car while I did the same. He sat in the back seat, while I was in the front. I used the car's GPS to figure out where his house was exactly.

"Why do you always act strange sometimes? Sometimes you will act like you are wicked, and sometimes you will act like you are kind! Can you just be straightforward, please, and stop confusing me?" I wish I could say that out loud.

I wondered how he was going to react. I can't believe I am sitting beside the most powerful human in the entire city.

His house was built on an estate. I haven't entered the estate before, even though I grew up in a rich family. I was always at home, always grounded by my parents.

His house was located down the road, and we got there in no time.

"Woah!" It came out of my mouth immediately when I saw how big his mansion was. I have seen a lot of mansions, I lived in one.

It was very massive.

"I will get going now." I told him as I was handing his keys over to him.

"Thank you very much. You should be here by 6 a.m. tomorrow morning." He instructed.

"Sure, I will make sure to be very early, as early as possible." I assured him, bowing my head.

"What about your child? I thought you said she would be staying with you over at the office." Tristan asked.

"Yes, I told my friend to help me watch over her." I answered him.

Why was he so concerned with my child?

"You should also know that a mother needs her child's attention, right?"

"You shouldn't lecture me about how I am going to treat my child. Please, we only have business issues, and don't try to bring my daughter into the conversation anymore. She is my daughter, not yours. I am doing all of this to make sure I am the best mother for her." I retorted back.

Woah! Why am I getting myself into trouble this way.

"Then you can quit your job." He fired back.

What? Is he telling me to quit now?
