He could let the woman go but once be began to agree to everything she says regarding other people and not for herself, it would only tarnish the reputation of the Death lord and their nature.
Soon people would find Ella and request she came to him and plead on their behalf. His enemies would immidately notice this change and use Ella against him.
He wanted to accept but he knew he couldn't take drastic decision. She was the only one he could let go no matter her offense, asides her, any other person will have to face the consequences of breaking the law.
