Teresa's POV

For the last year I have had trash thrown at me, crude remarks spat in my face, and today, my training partner almost killed me. I just want to go back to being that quiet nerdy girl again. No one paid any attention to me back then, unless they needed homework done or answers on tests. I wasn't anything special, as they said. Curly dark chocolate hair that went to the middle of my back and tan skin that looked so dull. In the sun my eyes looked like freshly made caramel, but no one could tell since my head was always down. While any other time they looked like pools of fresh mud after a horrible rainstorm.

"Teresa, are you listening dear?" Alpha Kam said, snapping me out of my thought.

"I'm sorry Alpha. I must have zoned out." I replied while my cheeks turned pink from the embarrassment. The whole dining hall was staring at me again. Shooting daggers into my body. Only I could get away with this type of behavior, which always puzzled me because anyone else would get an extra guard shift or worse.

"You've been doing that a little too often lately. I need you to focus because I have a few important announcements." He said low, knowing others were trying to eavesdrop. I shook my head in response.

'You cannot keep thinking of it. Could you please, for once, listen to my advice? Alpha Kam knows the truth, just as we do. He wouldn't let anything happen to us.' Talia, my wolf, said. She has been my strength through all of this, but I know she is as tired as I am.

"Can I have your attention?" Alpha Kam's voice boomed with authority and in an instant, everyone fell silent. "As you all know, the Crescent Ball is in a few months. I will be leaving tomorrow morning to meet with the other Alphas to see which pack will be hosting the event. After recent rogue attacks on the coasts, they will be looking inward this year. So, I expect everyone to keep our land looking marvelous as always." Everyone cheers as he pauses. He lifts his hand to silences everyone once again while giving me a small glance.

"Gamma Josef will be joining me on this trip and we will be back in three days. In my absence, Beta Saul will be staying here to assure no one breaks our laws and trespassers are dealt with accordingly. That's including my recent verbal command involving one of our own." Alpha Kam's voice became stern and looked everyone in the eyes. He could easily use his Alpha power to force everyone to follow his wishes, but that wasn't like him. He gained everyone's loyalty, not by brute force but with a kind heart and trust. Our pack loves him and those who opposed him, were few.

After his announcements were over, he excused everyone except Beta Saul and me. We quietly waited for everyone to leave the dining hall. Alpha looked tired. I am sure the last year has taken a toll on his mind and body, just as it had on the rest of us. I understood more than anyone because I was in the middle of all this chaos.

Alpha Kam's POV

I asked Beta Saul and Teresa to stay behind after dinner to privately discuss a few matters. I did not want to leave without tying up a few loose ends. It was time some secrets came into the light. I just hope they will understand.

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   Galdenia

Galdenia's POVLeaving Yamiel to clean, I walk down the hall. Dragging my hand over the frames hanging on the walls. Mostly pictures of my mother over the centuries but I stop and stare at the only picture of my father.I was the spitting image of him. Long straight silver hair, emerald green eyes with gold specs, and smooth ivory skin that appeared to be glowing from afar. He was a kind soul and taught me to love music. They always said I could be found playing some instrument. Many even said I use to act like him as well, till the day he died.Rogue wolves found their way into our lands and attacked our people. My father tried to hide me in a tree. He was so concerned about me, that he didn't notice that wretched mutt behind him. I saw it tear my father into piece, having splashes of his blood land on me. In a desperate attempt to save him, my tears and heartache turned into ice crystals that pierced through that beast. I was only eight at that time and that's when we realized I cou

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   Never Forget

Unknown POV I stand in front of my mirror, becoming consumed by rage. Not a day goes by that these marks don't go unnoticed. That idiotic she-wolf made sure to leave her mark as I made her mate witness her disappearance. Drawing out her claws from her right hand, trying to dismember my arm that held her throat. I thought I had weakened her, but I underestimated her. How I got myself roped into that fight, I will never know. My mother wouldn't explain herself, even after I almost took her life.A crystal blade shoved into her chest, inches away from her heart and still nothing. Just her cold, emotionless green eyes staring into my soul. I was prepared to do whatever it took. Luckily for her, the guards pulled me off before I could force another blade into her pregnant stomach. I didn't get the answer I was looking for, so now I am left to think back to the events that lead to these imperfections on my ivory skin.Knock. Knock."Who the hell is disturbing me in my quiet time?""My lady,

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   Inner-torment

Teresa's POV The tingling sensation has vanished and my mind begins to wonder. Just me surrounded by darkness again, with only my thoughts. I begin replaying the events that occurred not too long ago.My birth parents. Alpha Kam and the late Luna Camile. Both so young and truly in love with not just each other, but with the child they gave up. With me. I could see it. I could feel it. Yet with everything that was transpiring on the outside of my body, I couldn't ask any of my questions. However, I did get to find out who saved me. My mate. The one the Moon Goddess, herself, has chosen for me.I become gitty and excited knowing I wouldn't have to choose a second chance mate. Maybe my mate can take me away from the madness that is called my life. Maybe he can bring the peace that I so desperately need. Soon a question pops into my mind. Is my mate a male or female? 'Either way, we will love our mate for who they are. Right Talia?' No reply, just silence. I had forgotten I couldn't hea

"It's becoming troublesome. Camile and I are worried the enemy will found our weakness." I looked over to Camile and saw the tears forming in her eyes. I put my hand on her knee to give her some comfort. She placed her hand on mine and I realized I was shaking. How did I not notice that? I took a deep breath to compose myself and continued speaking. "Both of you have done an amazing job despite fighting your own personal battles. Never giving up and for that, y'all are perfect candidates."Layla looked confused, giving Geo a little nudge to speak. "A-Alpha, wh......what do you mean by perfect candidates?"Camile stands up and walks out of the office as her tears finally broke past her bottom lashes. Layla tried to follow but sat back down when I raised my hand. Then her confusion turned to fear. Her heart beats was racing and she tried to come down by hugging Geo. He tries to soothe her by rubbing her arm. Now he was becoming worrisome. I clear my throat and tell t

Alpha Kam's POV "Alpha, I've made it to the hotel. Is there anything you need me to do before I settle for the night?" Gamma Josef asks while on the other side of our phone call. "No my dear friend. I've already contacted the other alphas and let them know that you would be acting on my behalf. Just take a deep breath and don't let them push you around. Stand your ground and show them you are their equal." "Thank you Alpha. You have always been an older brother to me and I appreciate you for trusting me do this. Now go catch that sorry ass bastard sir." I laughed at that last part. I've known Josef since we were little cubs. His mother would help keep an eye on me after my mother passed. We pretty much grew up like brothers. He was the only person that knew Teresa was my daughter. I never wanted to give her up but when trouble started to show up at our door step, I had to make a tough decision. I had Josef look for a suitable couple, within our pack, to adop

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   Confusion

Before I can take a step out the door, I sense something wrong. Fear, desperation. I look back at her and see tears running down the sides of her face. Kai stops his battle for control, and we rush back to her side. I wipe the tears off her cheeks and can feel her relax to my touch. She even moves a bit more into my hand. I feel my heart beating with absolute joy. She stops crying and I wipe the rest of her tears off of her face and neck. Then I notice the dry blood on her shoulder and look down at her leg. How did I not notice it when I was drooling over her perfect body? I remember there was a water well out back, so I need to find a bucket or something to carry it in. I get up and start searching the house. Wandering into the kitchen, I start searching the cupboards and there was so many. I doubt all of them were used in the past but to my surprise, they were all filled. Cups, plates, and bowls occupied two of them. There were canned goods and nonperishables in four of them. Cookin

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   The Bond

Teresa's POV My mate? But how? Completely trapped in the darkest abyss of my mind, I wallow in my thoughts. I wish I could have gotten more answers from my parents. The only answer I did get, left me more confused. I'm not even seventeen yet. Most wolves don't begin searching for their mates till the arrival of their eighteenth birthday. However, almost every member in my pack chooses a second chance mate because they don't want to leave the safety of our territory. Only a handful of them would opt into traveling to the annual ball to search for their one true mate. Unlike the others, I thought I would end up mate less. I never wanted to leave the pack's land and I knew no one would accept me as a second chance mate. Some of the males wanted me as their bed mate but if I couldn't have my one true mate, I didn't want anyone. Whenever I scoffed at their suggestions and told them to shove their dick out of their assholes, they would try to force themselves on me. I shiver at the though

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   Sacrifice

Camelia's POVTears ran down my face as I heard her question, "Mom?""Yes dear. I am your biological mother or as your thoughts say, 'your birth giver'." That stung but I couldn't blame her. Looking into her eyes, I can see how her life has been. I don't understand how Kam could let those mutts treat our daughter that way. She is of royal blood.Kam grabs my hand while rubbing my shoulder with his left. Looking into his eyes, I understand why he didn't interfere. We discussed this many times and fought almost every day before giving her up. She needed to be protected."Teresa, do not be angry with Camelia. She wanted to keep you...." Wrong choice of words my love because here came Teresa, damn near biting his head off."So, it was you then?! You didn't want me?!" Kam backed up with his hands in the air as she charged towards him. Pointing her finger at him. I chuckled a little because she definitely had his attitude. "And you...." Uh oh, maybe

  • Desert Cliff's Goddess   The Truth

Teresa's POVI felt like I was floating in an ocean but that was impossible. The last thing I remember was running into my childhood home and then everything went dark. I tried to communicate with Talia but there was no response. I feel like I should be concerned but I'm not. I try to look around, only to see miles and miles of water. I look up to see more water and a light shining above. By the way I was breathing, I could not tell that I was completely submerged.I swim towards the light. Popping my head out, I see a familiar couple sitting on the beach. They wave me over and without a second guess, I float on my back to them. The man walks into the water as I get closer. Picking me up and tickling me as we head towards the giggling woman. She was absolutely beautiful. She had honey eyes that looked like they were sparkling, with or without the sun shining directly on her. Long curly hair that touched the sand, surrounding her as she just sat there laughing. I
