Chapter 2

Madison felt a jolt down her body when his lips made contact with hers. She stood transfixed on a spot as his firm lips claimed hers in a kiss that made her legs become jelly. She could not.

Was he kissing her by way of introduction?

As she stood in his arms, his hand went to the small of her back and pressed her to him, enclosing her in his hot embrace.

"Alpha Caden..."

She muttered at last as she stepped away, her heart thumping wildly in her chest

"You are Madison Roberts and I know you. I have tasted your lips now and I can tell you apart from other women." 

He said and strode off. She stood watching his back as he vanished into the night. 

When she found strength to walk back to the pack house, she was walking on pleasure weakened limbs.

"My lady! How totally pleasant to have you back inside."

The servant who now seemed panicked said as she reached the hall.

"Come now, you must be with the alpha in his chambers. He has said that you will spend the night with him."

Madison was silent as she was led to the Alpha's chambers. She had just kissed the Alpha, or he had kissed her, rather, outside, how then had he given the orders so soon? Had he been back inside the pack house before she did?

When she reached the Alpha's door, it was open and she was ushered inside by a guard.

"I have done you a favor by bringing you here to the Red galaxy pack."

She heard Alpha Caden's voice the moment she stepped into the room. He was sitting at one corner of the room and looked composed and totally at peace as if he had not kissed her minutes ago and stir different indescribable emotions in her.

"I would rather return to my pack if being here is a favour, my lord."

She replied. He turned around to look at her standing by the door.

"I hear you have no suitors and you have no mate." He said as he rose up. "I made the alpha give permission for you to be brought here because, in luck, you may court my affection and I will retain you here as wife."

Madison was beyond surprised at his words. 

"I have not been without suitors, my lord. I have only not found my mate and I cannot give myself away to a man who is not my mate."

"But you will do as I command."

He maintained.

" You will marry me if I court your affection? Well, I would rather not court your affection at all, my lord."

He took a step forward and she worried that he might come and kiss her and shatter her resolve to stay stoic, but he did not come any further.

He looked furious that she had responded the way she did, but he was composed, nonetheless

" I do not think you have much of a choice in the matter, my dear. You will bring yourself to love me and I will marry you and make you my luna. And that, I can assure you, is a fortune that you might not merit."

" If then I might not merit it, let me go back to my pack and live as a spinster"

" Enough!"

He yelled. She trembled at his ferral snap and took a few steps back to the door. He returned to his seat and dropped on it.

" You will spend the night here."

He said at last. He stood up and left..she was relieved when he went out and did not return.

She studied the room, the gigantic king sized bed, the beautiful draperies and the ancient, yet beautiful chandeliers and the dais at the far end of the vast room. 

Madison made up her mind as she laid down to rest, that she was going to run away from the pack.

When Caden had first sent for Alpha Rupert's niece whom he had heard was incredibly gorgeous but without a mate, he had not expected to see such Beauty. He had almost swore that she was the most attractive woman he had ever seen. When he kissed her, he wanted more. He had intended to spend the night with her but he did not think he could spend the night with her, without touching her.

When he returned to the room the next morning, she was gone.

Madison ran away from the pack early the next morning before most of the household staff had risen and before the alpha could come and look for her in the room. She was walking alone in the woods , hoping she could find her way back to her pack when she started to hear what could have been Feral snarlings behind her. She was alone and helpless and she was well aware of this. 

She turned around and there was a haze behind her. She started to run she realized that there was a whirlwind moving aggressively towards her. 

She stopped the frantic run abruptly and made to confront whatever force was against her. That was the last thing she knew before she was entrapped in the hazy whirlwind.

"How did you come to be here?"

He questioned when he walked into the cave and realized instantly that she was the one lying there.

She opened her eyes and stared quizzically, unable to make sense of where she was and what she was doing there. 

"I decided to stop and see what was in the cave and you came to be right inside. When did you leave the pack? Did I not give you warnings to remain in the pack?"

He asked as he reached her and hoisted her up to her feet. She blinked at him.

He continued to berate her as he led the way out, but she remained rooted in her position. 

"What are you still doing? Come now and let's leave this damned place."

He commanded roughly.

"Who are you? Why do you command me?"

Madison asked. She still had the puzzled look on her face that irritated him. 

" What in the bloody hell do you mean? If this is another of your ploys to not go with me, you have failed."

He said. 

"I have no idea who you are, sir! I can not go with you."

Madison maintained. She took one step away from where she stood and looked at her dress. It was torn on the hems and she knew her hair had picked up debris. But how did she get to be in the cave? 

" No need for all of those stupid shows. You know I have no time for it."

" Still, I don't know you or how I got to be here."

"Damn it!" He snapped. " I am Alpha Caden, I am..."

"I do not know you, still." She interrupted in a small voice. 

He looked at her with anger and desire in his eyes. She cowered at his piercing gaze. He took a step forward and she took one step back.

"If Alpha Rupert finds that you ran away from my pack, away from my protection, be assured that it is going to be trouble. For you." He paused and looked about the cave. " And for me too."

" I don't understand anything. I don't know what you are talking about."

She said. The frustration was clear in her eyes. He was angrier this time.

" Stop the drama and come with me!"

He bellowed. She took a step back, scared. He walked to her and held her by the hand. His look softened as his tall frame loomed over her. 

"Or perhaps," he said suggestively as his hand left hers to travel up her chin. "You could remember if I prodded your memory a little more." 

His thumb touched her lower lip and she trembled with the pleasure thrumming through her. 

She knew he was going to kiss her as his face stood only inches away from hers and she could smell his b

reath. Her body responded to every of his move on its own accord until his lips made contact with hers.
