It came as a surprise to Alpha Caden when she pushed him away, realizing suddenly who he was.
"My lord." She said. " How did you find me?"
He took a step back.
"That's immaterial right now. You know what you ought to do? Gather your skirts in your hands and let us go."
She did not protest. She knew something was wrong and she had not just woken up in a cave.
She ruminated over what could be possible reasons she was there until she was astride the horse with Alpha Caden.
It came rushing to her then. She had been attacked while she was out in the woods. The whirlwind!
Her wolf! She could not feel her within.
They started out on the journey., Not speaking to each other at all, both in their different thoughts.
"We have company."
Alpha Caden said suddenly as he made the horse screech to a stop.
"Do you ever shift into your wolf form?" He asked Madison.. Madison nodded her head.
"I shift once in a while when I have to get away from my family and go for a run in the woods."
Alpha Caden helped her down and steadied her against the horse. She stood there and watched him, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword.
She thought for a while that he was crazy because she felt no presence neither did she see any sign of anyone anywhere.
But then, she did not have her wolf in her and her senses were almost blunt. While she stood watching him, a woman appeared from the woods.
Caden drew his sword and stepped forward.
" What do you want? "
She asked at about the same time Caden did.
" You have wrestled Madison's wolf in the realms. You have to let her wolf go now."
" Or what happens?" She asked.
Madison was alarmed. How did Alpha Caden know what she did not? How had he known that she was not feeling her wolf?
"You are going to lose your head if you do not. I'll see to that."
He said in a matter of factly way. He was not kidding and his tone of voice did not suggest that he was.
The old lady laughed.
"How do you know so much about what happened in your absence?"
He asked Caden. There was no response. She strutted about and then stopped briefly.
"Lose my head? You think that will make me scared? You think doing that will restore her wolf either?"
She asked. That was right. If Caden lost his patience and snap her head off, she was not going to let go of Madison's wolf which she had entrapped in the realms and that would just about make everything worse because they might have to transport poor Madison across the country to find a magician who specialized in restoring wolves. They were rare.
"It is not impossible that she would have her wolf restored if you are killed. Let her have her wolf restored now and you will go unscathed."
Alpha Caden said. The lady laughed some more and began to trot off, her black dress trailing the ground behind her and picking up debris from the ground. Alpha Caden tried to stop her and she turned around with a feral snarl. The horse shifted back and so did Madison.
"You will not walk off me!" He yelled, stopping her with the sword and forcing her to turn to him.
"Keep the damn sword down!" The old lady cried. Her voice reverberated through the forest and she started to shift into her wolf form.
Alpha Caden sheathed his sword and also shifted into his wolf form and soon, there were two enormous and ominous looking wolves ready for a battle. The fight started before Madison could make sense of the situation of the moment. She was certain that what she was seeing was in a trance. It was happening so fast that she could not keep up with the pace.
There were snarling and snapping of bones and the horse she had been resting on walked away in fright, for a better
place to hide, while she fell to the ground.
Madison lay watching the fight and was overcome with fear, she was too weak to carry herself up to rest on a nearby tree trunk. While she watched, the biggest and most ferocious of the wolves which she recognized as alpha Caden's wolf, pinned down the furry one with tricks and cunning. It was strangling the wolf until it began to grunt sounds that she did not understand. It was a wolf language that she could not understand when she was still in her human form.Slowly, the big wolf unpinned the small one and they stood watching each other. Finally, they both shifted into their forms again."Get on the horse."Alpha Caden snapped, When he reached her. There was a total quiet now and he seemed sure that he was not under any risk. Madison rose up and went to the horse. When she mounted it, it took a while for alpha Caden to join her..and when they started to ride, it began to rain heavily. Her wolf snapped awake within her."We may have to wait for the rain to thin out in the cave before
" You will have to lie on the floor with the debris. There is also no blanket to wrap yourself with."Alpha Caden said when he noticed her discomfort over the thought of lying down without a blanket."I think I will have to sit the night out. It will not take long, I hope, for morning to come."She said, her eyes averted towards the entrance of the cave. The wind outside blew into the cave and she shivered. It was a chill night and she was worried that they might run out of dry twigs before it was morning."If you think you can sit out the night, It is totally not my business. You can do as you want. But know that I shall not have you dose off on the horse tomorrow when we start on the journey."He said in the usual stern way that she was fast getting acquainted with. she did not reply as she wrapped her hands around herself and continued to stare into the fire. ****When Madison woke up,. She was startled. She did not know she had fallen asleep. And her head was resting on alpha Cad
“My lord, this question does not require an answer at the moment. You are injured and bleeding, the bleeding has not slowed down enough for either of us to entertain questions that we already know the answer to. Please hold still, I still have to get that spot that is still bleeding.” Madison said to the alpha and made it her mission to avoid his gaze as she worked on him.She too did not have a definite answer to that question, so she could not give it to him. When she was done dressing the wounds with the straps of her dress that she tore off, she looked up to see the alpha fighting consciousness. She looked around the cave to find more things to add to the fire and keep it going.By the time she turned back to the alpha he was out, though from the way his eyes were moving behind his lids, she knew he was not in deep sleep just yet.She wanted to wash her face and arms, there was blood everywhere and there was nothing to use to cart water into the cave. Guess she was going to have t
Madison woke up feeling very warm, her fingers moved and treaded the material that was used to produce such amount of heat. The material hummed and so did her, then her eyes shot open.Blankets do not hum, blankets did not have heartbeats.Heart beats? She surged up to see Alpha Caden looking at her with expressionless eyes. Of all the people to embarrass herself in front of, she chose the one guy she was trying to act like his words did not affect her.She took in her environment to see that she had tucked herself so closely to him that it could be mistaken that he slept on her or that they had sexual relations in the night. Good thing they were all alone and she could die in peace out of embarrassment.Alpha Caden suddenly shifted into his human form and Madison did not have enough time to look away, the image of his naked body immediately stuck to her head. He looked hot!“No Madison Roberts, you shall not entertain such thoughts.” Madison mentally scolded herself and her attention
Alpha Caden’s words hit Madison as usual but she did not say a word in response. He had already held her in a choke hold, she was not begging to be further manhandled.“You are to stay in this chamber until I say otherwise. If I so much as catch your scent on the back of the door you would regret ever knowing me.” Alpha Caden said to Madison before he stormed off.Madison scoffed as the door closed behind him. She would regret ever knowing him? She already regretted it! It was not something to happen in the future, she was actively regretting her decision to go along with her uncle’s order. Surely she would have weaseled her way out of it.She raised her hand to her neck and winced when her fingers came in contact with the now tender skin. It was going to heal soon but that did not mean that she enjoyed being treated like this. She wanted to defy him but she suddenly lost the strength to and decided to lay down on the bed. As she walked toward the bed, she caught a glimpse of the bath
Ever since Madison left for the red galaxy pack, Alpha Rupert found his home to now be too quiet. He was so used to having Madison around, tailing him or just keeping him company that an evening without her was very unsettling. His wife and Luna looked across the table at her male staring into his cup of scotch with a small smile. She understood him all too well, Madison was the daughter they never had and she ensured that her presence was felt wherever she went.“Alpha, the drink did nothing to you.” Luna Bella said to her mate who looked up at her in confusion as to what she was talking about.“You have been staring into your glass for too long now, remember you did what you did for her own good. Madison deserves a chance at having a mate and being happy.” Luna Bella clarified to her mate.“I know my love, I just miss her is all.” Alpha Rupert said to his mare who gave him a warm smile.“I know, I would offer to play a game of chess with you but you would cheat your way through it a
“Why do you say so, my love? Claudia has been friends with Madison since I can remember, even before her parents died. Are you sure this has nothing to do with your pregnancy hormones? You have never said anything about her since you came to be with me.” Alphason Wilson asked his female as they walked out of the room.He wanted to know why his female did not like Claudia as his female had really good intuition when it came to people. Something he admired about her was her skill to tell people with good intentions from those with evil intentions and it had come in handy in times past.“She just rubs me wrong, I did not say anything before because at first I thought I was wrong because of the closeness she shares with Madison and she has never done anything to show otherwise but this time is different. I feel she would end up being more of a problem than a helper to Madison.” Sandra said to her mate in her usual gentle manner. He took her hand in his and kissed her palm.“Madison is a b
The place was beautiful, the praises she was singing to Alpha Rupert earlier seemed trivial as she took in the beauty that was the red galaxy pack. On each side of the tarred road she could see redwood trees going on for miles and miles. So why exactly was she not successful? A question for another day.Claudia soon felt that her tongue was dry and that was when she realized that she had her mouth open as she was looking around. Just wow! When the car finally pulled to a stop Claudia came down and took in the buildings around. She was surprised to see modern buildings in what looked to be a well-structured town. This place was amazing, and she had a feeling that she had not seen anything yet.“This way ma’am.” A voice called to her and she turned to see that it was the driver that was calling her attention. She gave him a smile and walked hurriedly to join him. She also saw that he had her luggage with her, she blushed in embarrassment as she approached the driver.“It is okay ma’am,
