The mate bond

"intruders are not guests Aiden. You were warned at the check point, yet you refused." Antonio snarled.

"Well you were not ready to hand over what belonged to me, so I took the best possible option available." Aiden said, then his eyes met mine. His face broke into a smile, showing off his adorable dimples.

My wolf nearly jumped out of my skin.

"Mate mate mate!!"she howled within me.

"Stay away from my sister." Antonio angrily pointed the gun at Aiden.

No one has the right to interfere in a mate bond. It is strongly against the law. The male can claim the female even if she is from enemy territory.

"Well, can I claim my Luna now?" Aiden said impatiently.

Antonio held up his hand to stop him. "You're in my territory, and I can decide what would happen. Even if she's your mate, you can't take her away without my approval."

Aiden's blue eyes flashed with anger. I could feel the rising tension, as my mate and my brother glared at each other.

"Antonio please hold on." I found myself pleading. I bit my lip. This was not what I wanted. I had never been in the middle of a conflict in my entire life. I didn't want to be with Aiden, but my wolf did.

"You can't stop me from claiming my mate. If you want war, I'm always prepared for it." Aiden threatened. He was about to shift into his wolf.

"Very well then. Let's do it the old fashioned way, or would you prefer war?" Antonio warned, pointing at his gun. I heard the click, and I did something that I had never done before. My wolf broke free, my body cracked and reshaped themselves as my clothes ripped off from my body.

My eyes changed, and my fangs descended while my claws protruded.

I took a quick glance at Antonio, and a growl escaped from my lungs. My wolf was now in control.

I broke through the tight walls of the warriors, ignoring the warning from Olivia. Not being able to control myself, I charged at Antonio, as the sound of gunshot echoed in the hall.

The gunshot agitated my wolf and she pushed Antonio over, aiming for his throat. I stood over his chest growling.

My wolf kept growling, preventing Antonio from going close to my mate.

Suddenly a strong pair of hands gripped me, hauling me backwards.

"Stop it Blair!" Aiden yelled.

But I was not the on e in control. My wolf was. She wanted to rip off the throat of anyone who dared to harm her mate, Even if he was my brother.

I could no longer fight her anger, it had escalated beyond control. Despite my anger, Aiden was able to control me, pulling me away from Antonio.

Immediately I perceived his scent, my wolf calmed down. I stopped growling, and he put me back on the ground, making sure I was looking in his direction, and not Antonio's.

"Hey gorgeous come here." He said huskily. Suddenly I became overwhelmed with desire. Aiden was bending on one knee, encouraging me to approach him. I was ready to submit. He smiled, and caressed me gently behind my ear, running his hand through my fur. I closed my eyes, enjoying his touch.

"You're perfect." He whispered. My wolf was calm now. The presence of her mate had humbled her. With horror, I realized I had almost killed my brother.

"Blair. I know you're in there." Antonio's voice sounded in my head while I struggled to take control. I would never forgive myself if I ever harmed Antonio.

"Antonio I'm sorry." I cried out.

"It's okay Blair. You were just protecting your mate. That is normal." He replied telepathically.

"I need to talk to you now. Come with me." He continued.

I could have shifted back now that I was in control. Nudity is never an issue amongst wolves. We do not exactly go about naked all the time. But due to shifting in groups, no one cared about nudity. Still I didn't want to shift in front of Aiden.

I padded towards one of the bedrooms. I shifted and pulled on one of the robes lying about. We kept those robes all over the place, Incase someone shifted and needed clothes.

Antonio followed soon after , looking totally confused.

"Can you tell me what is going on? I had no idea he was your mate."

"I'm sorry Antonio. I would've told you a long time ago, but everything happened very fast. I couldn't think straight. I was not ready for this. I lost control , I'm so sorry...." I broke into tears.

He held my shoulders, comforting me.

"Blair it's okay. I know how the mate bond works. I would've done the same for Olivia too. What do you want? If you don't want to go with him, I'll handle everything."

"What did I want? I wanted nothing to do with Aiden. I wanted him to stay faraway from me. I wanted to go back to my previous life. But none of that was possible now. I was now going crazy. My years of self control shattered the moment I met Aiden. Yet I could not stay away from him. I craved for him.

"I don't know Antonio, I don't know." I mumbled.

Aiden's POV

I watched in horror as she attacked Antonio. She was powerful, an immensely powerful Luna. My wolf was proud of her. Her bloodlust.

Her being protective of me, was turning him on. But I had to stop her , otherwise she'd never forgive me for causing her brothers death.

She was feral, ferocious, and a badass beast. My wolf would love to explore this beast. I too would love to know this creature. But for now, I have to stop her.

I held the beautiful white wolf by its hair, and hauled her back. She was strong, and kept thrashing madly. Probably it would've been easier to manage her if I let my wolf take over, he'd lose control and mark her.

I was also desperate to mark her, but not like this. She would need time. She had lived amongst humans for long, away from her pack. She had forgotten our ways, and I'd have to remind her.

"Tell her she's perfect." My wolf whispered to me. He was completely mesmerized, just like I was.

"You're perfect." I repeated, rubbing her silky white fur.

She looked at me with her hazel eyes, then glanced at her brother once more. Antonio had stood up, and he was looking at us in a dumbfounded expression.

She padded into the house.

"She's going to shift. " Antonio announced after seeing my worried expression.

"She also wants to talk to me alone. Your men would not be harmed as long as you don't do anything funny. Hopefully, we can talk through this." He continued.

I could see he was shocked by the revelation that his sister was my mate. He could not stop me from taking her legally though.

I nodded.

I waited for five...ten.... fifteen minutes passed. I was getting impatient. My wolf was ready to jump out . I smelled her before I got to see her. She was wrapped in a purple kimono robe. Her hair was long, and floated around her. I never noticed they were that long. It almost reached her waist.

I'd remember to stock up her wardrobe with robes when we're properly mated.

She looked at me with a blank expression and sighed.

"I'll go with you."

My heart sang, and my wolf danced in happiness . All the colors in the room suddenly became brighter.

"Only on a few conditions." She added.

Aiden sighed.

"You don't know yet do you?"

By now I could barely breathe.

"Blair is my mate. Just like tradition demands, I am entitled to claim my mate." Aiden smirked.

I closed my eyes. I could hear gasps and murmurs around me. I could feel the bodies around me shift from their positions. I opened my eyes and looked into Antonio's.

"Is this true Blair?" He asked .

I nodded as Aiden smiled smugly. Antonio stared at me with an unreadable expression while I was torn into several different emotions. A mate bond is the most sacred bond for wolves. Once wolves find their mates, The male marks the female, and this is then followed by wild sex.

This is called the consummation. Once the mating is done, the bond is complete. They're bound for life. They share their lives, feelings, mind , everything. Finding your mate is like a soul trap or gift, depending on how you take it.
