Unexpected welcoming

All my anger and resentment suddenly flew away. I was now busy enjoying the the scene below me. They were miles and miles of trees much more oval moon pack.

"You like it?" Aiden asked, his blue eyes reflecting the blue lakes below.

"Wow you have a river!" I exclaimed excitedly as I looked down at the blue ribbon of water snaking through the thick lush of bushes. It was beautiful.

Then I spotted the buildings. At first they just appeared like a mass of grey's and white. They was a huge central courtyard, garden or whatever you might want to call it. It was the size of a sports field. It was surrounded by buildings, several of them. The private jet landed on a narrow runway in this grassy courtyard.

Avoiding the noise and wind lashing around us, Aiden helped me out of the jet. The flight was short, about forty minutes. I guess his escorts would be arriving by road.

I surveyed the environment , it was enough to leave me breathless.

There were several houses of various sizes, but Aiden's home was like a huge castle or a mansion. Whatever you might call it.

It was not old, but it had a touch of medieval architecture. It was still modernized, surrounded by acres of forests, meadows, and pastures. A long driveway led through a lushy parkland, into the main residence. There was a French formal garden, graced with a beautiful fountain.

"This is where you live?" I asked aghast.

Aiden was now smiling broadly, perhaps proud of herself.

"Yes." He replied.

"That building is an architectural marvel. How old is it?"

"Can't really remember. It was built by my grandfather, my grandma was French. He wanted to make her feel at home. Do you like it?" His eyes observed my face for reaction. I nodded eagerly, still gasping at the marvelous building.

"It's beautiful." I replied.

He chuckled, and I didn't protest when he put his arm around me, gluing me to himself.

"How many people live here?" I asked, admiring the residential buildings around.

"More than two thousand. Some are not living here currently. They're either at work, or away at college." He replied casually.

Oval moon pack was half the size of Jade moon pack .

"Your festivals must be interesting." I laughed.

Coronation or all other festivities were held when a new Luna or Alpha was introduced into the pack. Every member familiarized themselves with their scent, and it lasted hours or even days depending on the pack size.

"In glad you're already planning your coronation." He said with a bit of humour.

I stiffened." Don't get your hopes high. It was only an observation." I scoffed.

He explained to me the other aspects of the of the property, like the orchard and plantain plantations. The garden, the school, and a stable!"

"It's so enchanting you know? Your castle and all ." I teased.

He grinned at me, humor lighting up his blue eyes.

"A castle is empty without a princess. My princess keeps running away from me."

I pouted. "Quite unfortunate. You didn't try hard enough?"

"Is that it? Is that what I should do?" He asked , an amused smirk crinkled at the corner of his lips.

"I don't know. maybe sweep her off her feet, or something." I was flirting with him. Though I admit it was better than fighting all the time.

My wolf was happy. At least we were getting along. She was tugging at my skin, ready to burst out.

"If you say so then." He said, releasing my waist.

Before I could fanthom his intentions, I was grabbed and hauled in his arm. My feet dangled, my head pressed into his chest. A quick bolt of lightning shot through my spine.

"What are you doing? Put me down!" I protested.

"Nope. I just swept you off your feet." He said huskily.

Loud cheers caught my attention, and my eyes widened in surprise. It seemed like the entire pack had assembled outside. People lined up on the driveway, as Lucian walked on it. Few others stood near the massive entrance.

"Gosh! You didn't have to be so dramatic. Just put me down!" I pleaded.

"The pack is loving it let's give them a good show." He replied.

He carried me proudly as if I was a trophy. It was useless to argue, so I simply faked a smile, praying for the ordeal to finish soon.

I wrapped my hands around his neck, so I could balance properly. I didn't want to appear awkward, so I kept smiling. He pulled me more firmly against him, while my face burned in embarrassment.

He stepped through the main door into a large hall. They was a golden staircase right in the middle of the room.

The staircase split into two passages on the first floor, which was lined with the door. I guessed they were bedrooms.

The ground floor had the biggest state of art kitchen I had ever seen. And the dining hall was big enough to hold a banquet. The colour theme was white and gold almost every where.

"Alpha is back with our Luna!" Said one middle aged lady, beaming at us.

I rolled my eyes. Luna? They wish!

"Seems so , Ava. How have you been?" Aiden said, finally putting me down. I bowed in embarrassment.

"This is Ava, she is the head of my household." Aiden introduced me to this lady.

There was another lady, around my age . She had long red hair. Her delicate features and large brown eyes gave her a pixie kind of look. I could feel power ooze from her.

'A beta' I thought.

"This is Alexa. She is one of the beta. I have some pack business to attend to. Meanwhile, this is our home." He motioned to the huge house. "Alexa would take you to my quarters. Do well to have a shower. Your luggage will soon arrive, though new clothes would be brought to you. However, for the main time, you're not allowed to leave my quarters and don't go anywhere unescorted." He ordered.

He lifted my chin with his finger. "Do you understand me?"

I nodded numbly, and trying to act calm among the women.
