The ring and her trauma.

"Ouch!" Vincaster cried in pain while holding his palm. "Are you a dog or what?"

"Serves you right. Why would you caress my face when we were just alone? It's harassment, in case you don't know," she replied and stood up. She walked past her seat and was standing in front of Vincaster's seat, then, all of a sudden, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her.

Her eyes widened, big as owls upon realizing where her butt had landed on.

A stewardess who was about to offer a dessert had looked at her. The woman's gaze made it apparent that Serina was being criticized as if she was a woman who was paid to warm a billionaire's bed. Then, a flash of red shades on her cheek had followed, erupting from embarrassment had made her lose face.

She tried to get off his lap, but he pulled her back, and she ended up falling on his lap again. Her head rested on his chest, and he used it to his advantage to whisper words to her. "How dare a woman like you bite my hand? Do you know how much you owe me if I charge you with this incident?"

"You can bite me too, to make it fair, and don't talk about money all the time," she replied in a low voice, just enough to keep the conversation among themselves. "Let go, or I will shower my urine in your pants," she added.

He let go of her wrist and pushed her without warning, so she ended up thrown off in the aisle of the carpeted floor of the plane. She glared at him and pulled some strands of his hair before going to the bathroom.

He was left amused by Serina's strange behavior. She wasn't like this when they fled for their fake honeymoon. She used to be afraid of his presence during their stay in Boracay, but she changed overnight. The first time he saw her mad was when she threw a fit about the voidable marriage. After that, she had been in a rush to avoid Vincaster in the corner of their beach house. She rarely talks to him and is always busy with her laptop and lesson plan. He was unsure whether she hated him or simply treated him as an employer, but seeing how she glared at him every now and then made him realize that Serina hated him, and if it was not for the money, she would have backed out already.

He shook his head and laughed a little when he recalled how he met her. He thought of showing gratitude to Psyche for showing up with Serina in perfect time, and if it was fate or not, he couldn't care less. What matters to him is the convenience of that on-the-spot marriage officiated by the Mayor.

He wasn't prepared for married life, and if it wasn't for the sake of his sick grandpa, none of this would happen. He does not like the idea of tricking his grandpa, but he finds it troublesome to get into blind dates. Good thing Serina is different from the woman he met on various blind dates.

At the back of his mind, 'She does not look like a clingy type. I would have agreed to her when she asked for a divorce if only the timing wasn't bad. I need her to help me make my grandpa happy.'

He stood up straight when Serina came back from the restroom. He hid his mischievous smile when he noticed that his wife was hesitant to sit beside him. He cleared his throat and said, "I won't bite, so get back to your seat. I am definitely not like someone out there who bites people."

Serina rolled her eyes and said, "I am definitely not a psycho who would caress someone's cheek and would grab someone to sit on his lap."

Vincaster had to hide his painful expression when Serina's heels pierced on the tip of his black shoes.

After an hour of silence between them, they finally arrived at NAIA, and Daniel welcomed them with a wide smile.

"Welcome back, newlyweds. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Liverteo."

"Getting married and living with a weird woman is not worthy of congratulatory," he replied after Daniel opened the passenger seat to let his boss hop inside.

"Please don't call me Mrs. Liverteo because it's disgusting. We were almost of the same age, so you can call me sister Seri or just Seri." She smiled at her husband's secretary.

Seeing Daniel again after traveling back in time had made her realize that this boy was kind and had a pure heart. He was loyal to the Liverteo clan. He was a good friend who was always there for her every time she was upset with her husband, and he was one of the people who knew she was in love with Vincaster.

She tapped his back and said, "Thank you."

Daniel smiled awkwardly, and confusion was written all over his face. He glanced at the mirror and saw the gloomy face on his boss from the rearview. Little did Daniel know, his boss was kind of upset.

Vincaster was a bit upset when Serina acted too kind and sweet in front of other people but was always irritated when she was with him. His mind mocked how she allowed Daniel to address her as if they had known each other for too long. His mind goes saying, 'She let my secretary call her Seri, but she never allowed me to call her by her nickname.'

"By the way, this is your customized wedding ring. Please wear this before leaving this car to attend your family banquet," says Daniel while handing over the velvet box.

"We know that already. You don't have to remind us," says Vincaster while rolling his eyes. He glanced at Serina and demanded, "Serina, get the box and slide the ring on my finger. I'm too tired to move my hand."

"Who do you think you are, bossing me around?" She asked while crossing her arms together.

"Hmm... guys, my hand is about to give up. I hope you don't mind grabbing the box in my hand already." Daniel interfered as soon as he sensed an igniting war between her boss and the lady of his boss.

"Technically, aside from being your husband, I am also your boss, and you are my employee in Liverteo academy."

"You're such a psychotic power tripper." Serina glared at her bossy husband before reluctantly grabbing the box from Daniel's palm. The secretary had finally started the engine and focused on driving instead of minding those two cats and dogs.

She opened it, and her heart started to beat fast as soon as she recognized the ring. Her hand trembled as the freezing blow of air shivered on her body.

"Hey, what's wrong? Don't tell me you didn't like the design of the r-"  Before Vincaster could finish his question, Serina had fainted for an unknown reason.

"Serina, wake up!" He tried tapping her cheeks, but he received no response. "Head straight to the hospital and call my private doctor," he added, wearing a concerned look for Serina.
