I climbed out of the car after pulling into the parking space of Juliet’s company and walked inside hastily. The anger boiling in me was enough to make me do something stupid.

I shouldn’t have listened to Leyi’s pleas. I shouldn’t have given her a chance to speak. I shoved my hand through my hair in frustration. If I had known this was her plan all along, I would’ve made sure she regretted every bit of it.

The moment I stepped into the hallway, the receptionist by the side greeted me, but I didn’t even look her way.

All that was on my mind was seeing Leyi, confronting her. I wanted answers. Why had she gone that far? Who the hell was she working with?

I walked into the elevator, my foot tapping against the floor impatiently. My hands clenched into fists as the elevator finally chimed open, and I stepped out.
