I stepped in dark private room nervously.

“Hello?" I called out in the darkness but got no response.

For a moment, my heart quivered in fear. What if I get pounced upon by some men? I turned back to the entrance to leave, I made to run out but the door got closed from the outside. NO!

I was a trembling mess, sweat poured out from my pores and I almost passed out in terror, I looked around me half squatting with my fists pushed forward in preparation to strike any of the supposed men down.

“Happy birthday!" Voices called out from the dark before the light came on and I almost sank into the floor but Bianca held me still.

“Your pose was funny." She giggled into my ear and my stomach churned in disgust.

"You know I have nyctophobia." I hissed through gritted teeth but she let go of me before eyeing me.

“Calm down, don't be dramatic. We were all here with you." She walked away.

“Happy birthday Babe." Matteo sang happily, bringing the cake towards me.

I looked around the faces of the invitees and bit my inner cheeks in sadness, they were all either Matteo friends or Bianca's, I had no friends.

“Go on, blow off the candle and make a wish." He smiled at me but I felt no desire to force a smile.

I did blow off the candle either way and made a wish that they both meet a terrible fate.

“What did you wish for?" Bianca stood before me with two glasses of red wine in hand, she had a large grin as she looked at me for answers.

"It wouldn't be a wish if I told you.” The words forced themselves out of my throat as my eyes stared at the glasses in her hands.

"Right.” Her smile irritated me as I stood awkwardly in the centre of the room, clenching my handbag like my life depended on it.

"Yes, this.” She pushed the drink forward.

"Hey guys, let's make a toast to the birthday girl.” She raised her voice and everyone stood with a glass in hand.

My heartbeat spiked, she was making it difficult for me to refuse her.

"Go on, take it.” She pushed the glass forward towards me.

"I feel sick, I can't drink.”

She looked back at Matteo who had a frown on his face.

"That's nonsense.” She smiled before pushing the glass into my hand.

"A glass of wine won't kill you Valentina, we all know that.”

I swear to the heavens, if she smiled one more time, I was going to let hell loose and smack her face.

"To the birthday girl!” She cheered and they all replied before downing their drink.

I stood frozen before forcing a cough, in a twinkle of an eye, I splashed the drink on her while doubling over in a fit of cough ignoring the gasps around me.

“Aah!" She shrieked and I coughed louder, hitting my chest while on my knees.

“Oh my God! Bianca. Are you okay?” Matteo rushed towards her instead while she fussed over the wet patch on her expensive cloth, ignoring me completely on the floor.

Soon enough, I felt his hand tighten itself around my arm before dragging me up.

"Ouch Matteo! You are hurting me!” I cried out but he ignored me, his eyes were thick with disgust.

“Apologize!" He demanded.

“What?" I glared at him.

“Apologize to her now!"

“I had a fit!" I declared stubbornly.

“That's no excuse…” His hand went tighter, his fingers digging into my flesh and my eyes stung.

"Oowww Matteo, it's alright for real, it's just a wet patch.” Bianca purred before hurrying towards us like she wasn't just standing by and watching things unfold.

Effortlessly peeling Matteo's hand from my arm, she clung to me before whispering in my ear. “I told you earlier, you don't have to be dramatic."

I felt the poison in her tongue.

“Why can't I when it's my birthday today?" I asked her, meeting her gaze with a hard stare as she frowned.

“You want Matteo right?" I questioned in a whisper and her eyes widened.

“Nah, you already have him wrapped around your little dirty fingers right?" Her grip on me loosened, her face went red.

“You can have him." I turned to face her fully, her breath was loud enough for me to feel her terror and mine came in a hurry, showing my anger.

She broke the tension in the air with a snort, then a laugh before bending down to the table closeby to pick a drink for herself.

I squinted at her.

“Don't be silly." She waved her hand in the air.

“Do you love Matteo?" I stepped closer and she spilled the drink out of her mouth to my face, drawing everyone's attention to us.

“Is everything okay?" Came Matteo's concerned voice.

“We are fine." I responded, cleaning my face.

“I bet you enjoy his lips more than I did." I stepped even closer and suddenly, she gripped my clothes tightly, throwing herself backwards, forcing me to push her hand off my cloth by reflex and soon, she was on the floor with a loud thud followed by her shrill painful cry.

In the busy room at my underground club, I sat on the throne-like seat, a glass of wine in hand as I watched the hackers get busy. A smirk graced my lips. They will hear from me soon. The internet would explode with the heavy secret and dirty dealings of the Roman family. Matteo would regret ever stepping on her toes, he would regret ever picking up her call. One of the hackers came to the side and whispered into my ear, they were done with the digging and it was ready to get pushed out to the netizens. I gulped the content of my glass down in one go, placed the glass in the hand of the man who was still half bent before placing my mask back. I stood and with a snap of my fingers, they got back to work while I walked out of the busy room and into the loud club. I had no desire to party, I had no desire to be extremely happy either, I just lost a soul and have intentionally put the one nearest to my heart in pain. “Mr. President would you…” I breezed past, not caring if I hit a

I walked into the grand lobby of my agency to see the ranging mess of the Morretti and Liliana. I stood silently at the corner watching their veins popping out of their neck and forehead and wherever it needed to pop out to show their anger. Their anger at what exactly. I stuck my hands into the pocket of my trousers as I watched from the shadows. “Mr. President." The sickening sweet voice I hated hearing and most especially at this point in time called out to me and I closed my eyes for a fraction of a minute before reopening them. This time when I reopened my eyes, I made sure they conveyed how pissed and irritated I felt. “Uuhh…” Her excited gaze faltered when she saw the coldness in my eyes. "Are you alright…" She made a sort of pitiful face that would have probably enticed other men but I am not exactly other men so I only pinned her with a harsher stare. “I … uhh…”"Scram.” I bit out coldly since she had her brain shoved up into her asshole not to read the room. She cri

I stood facing the new doctor, a blood red colored mask on my face as my eyes bore intense holes into his aged ones. “Speak." I clenched and unclenched my jaws. He looked calm and collected but his eyes were shifty like he needed to bolt to save his dear life. "We'll need to take her to the hospital, we need to perform a dilation and curettage surgery…” I pushed him aside and walked into the room to see my baby still unconscious. Without wasting any more time, I carried her carefully up before walking out of the house and into the ambulance waiting outside my home. She had suffered enough and I think it's high time I stopped trying to play games to get my shit done. I need to be ruthless once and for all. On getting to the hospital, I placed her on the stretcher and followed through till she was taken into the theater to be operated on.I stood, glaring at the closed door of the theater, my hands grabbing the sides of my trouser as I gave a cruel smile beneath my mask. She had

“Die! You devil!" A maniacal laughter followed. “Please…” The younger boy choked and coughed before his face got forced back into the basin of ice cold water. "Want to die yet?” The older boy asked, a mean smile on his face. The younger boy's hands frantically moved about as if moving his hands that way would help him get away from the punishment he couldn't understand. When his head finally got released, he coughed and heaved for air all at once but before he could open his eyes, a hard slap sent him falling pathetically to the floor and he started to cry. "Oh see. The illegitimate son cries.” His supposed elder brother poked at his head repeatedly, each poke getting harder than the last. "Lorenzo.” A deep voice boomed and the crazed looking boy sneered before looking towards the entrance of the door. "Dining, now.” "What? Not hungry.” He glared at his father who stood with his legs apart and his eyes squinted. The little boy went into a fit again as he tried to breathe free

Her phone hit the ground first and shattered then came the chaotic thuds. I was on my feet when she came crashing down, my heart shattering at her sorry state but I acted unconcerned. She might have probably broken a leg but I expected her to get right back up. I made to move when I heard the cow's voice and she came crashing down too, right unto Valentina. I closed my eyes to regain my self control and when I opened them, she was sobbing like she was being threatened by some group of robbers.I knew what went down. I overheard every bit of their discussion and Bianca has bitten more than she should have. Delusional is what she is if she thinks I would stop so low to take her in. “Dominik!" She cried, writhing and trying to reach out to me. I want to reach out to her too, but to wrap my hand around her throat and strangle her to death. I will, but not without getting what I really want from her. A subtle and pained “No" invaded my head and I frowned, taking my attention back to

  • Divorced by My Husband, Spoiled by A Billionaire    Valentina's POV

I shot the housekeeper something I know she would classify as a crazed look before I walked out of the dinning and towards the stairs and up to the bedroom I was made to sleep in. Grabbing my phone, I dialed Matteo's number without a second thought. Angry tears were spilling from my eyes. “Where the fuck is your slut?" I asked upon his picking only to hear his loud silence. “You've had to get your ass down here and get her out of here!" I yelled into the phone. I was angry and embarrassed that I was even doing this in the first place. I didn't know why I called him but I did call him and his silence only made me feel worse. “Say something, you asshole!" I yelled into the phone again. “If she is there, then she needs to secure a contract for my agency, something you wouldn't have done.” He sounded relaxed and amused. I trembled in anger. "A contract for your company?” I placed my free hand on my forehead as I paced to the door. He would actually … whoa! “You are a sick fuck.
