We go to his room. It has huge, dark glass windows giving a good view into the woods.

I saw that his bed is just a large mattress lying on the floor.

"I'm tired of buying a new bed base." Connor noticed me staring at it.

"Why not buy a metal bed base then?" I suggested.

"They also break after a while," Connor said, and I am stunned by how powerful he is.

We sit lowly on his mattress on the floor.

"Your cousin Kara and sister will never like me, will they?" I asked, seeing that they were the ones already finding it hard to accept our relationship.

Connor got up from the bed, and I watched as he walked towards one of the square glass windows.

"My sister will eventually do it, but I'm not sure about Kara."

"She isn't my cousin, Amara. She's a werewolf I saved not long ago and made a part of my family pack," he said, turning around towards me.

"She's in love with you, isn't she?" I had to ask, feeling there was more to her hatred of me being a human, dating Connor.

Kara was the perfect match for Connor. They're both werewolves and stunning.

"Connor walked back to me and held my hand, pulling me up to stand. He then held my face and stared deeply into my eyes.

"Yes, but the love she wants from me is meant only for you."

I hugged him, but I feel that being different, one day I may lose him to her, especially when they dwell together.

"You have nothing to worry about," Connor read me like a book, gently hugging me.

"I know what may cheer you up." Connor removed his arms from around me, stepped back, and started to peel off his shirt, showcasing his ripped chest.

He then began to unzip his black pants and, nervously, I looked away.

"I love you too, Connor, but it doesn't feel right doing it here, knowing your family's hearing is sharper than a knife. Your mother might be listening for what's happening up here already, or even Kara, who hates me for stealing you from her."

We haven't even shared our first kiss on the lip, I wanted to say also, but when I tensely opened my eyes to see his huge beast towering in front of me, I felt dirty thinking he wanted us to have sex.

I stood there so small, gazing up at his gigantic and dangerous beast as if it were the first time I'd laid eyes on him. His eyes, like acacia blossoms, peer down at me, and I feel I'll never get used to the sight of such a bewitching creature, just as I'm unable to process someone as perfect and handsome as him falling for an unattractive human like me.

He turned to his side and lowered himself for me to climb onto his back.

I placed a hand on top of his back, and immediately, a tingling feeling swept over me at the softness of his fur. I combed a hand gently through his thick, long fur while closing my eyes to its warmth.

My eyes opened to a soft sound from his wolf, and to him gazing at me, wanting me to climb up.

Holding onto his back, I leaped up and sat down with my legs across on each side of his back. His body is solid and hard, and I felt the movement of his body under me as he came from his crouching position. My hips moved with his motion as he walked me to an open window.

As he's nearing it, he quickly looks at me before turning back to the window, and I lie on my belly, wrapping both of my arms around his neck, knowing he's about to jump, and close my eyes, scared.

I feel a sinking sensation in my stomach as he leaps through the window, and it deepens as he goes down. I opened my eyes when he landed on his feet and sat up, now holding onto a thick strand of his fur as he began to run with me through the woods.

The rhythm of his body below me grows powerful, and my hips move faster, forward and backward, becoming one with his movement. I felt the cool wind on my face, blowing through my hair, and the scent of trees.

It was the most beautiful ride. I didn't want him to stop, never, but he slowed down near a pond and walked towards it.

He stopped under a tree there, and I came from his back, standing close to him. I rested my face against him. He made a soft whimper and placed his head next to my face.

We stayed there, quiet, enjoying the closeness of each other's bodies until it was time for us to return to his place.

"Thank you for the wonderful meal, Ms. Emmeline, and for accepting me here," I said as Connor and I stood in the hallway.

Emmeline, the triplets, and Alpha were only in the hallway to wish me farewell.

"You're welcome, little human," responded Emmeline.

"Mom, her name is Amara," said Connor with an arm around me.

"I'll try to remember to call your human girl by her name," said Emmeline with a wide smile.

"You can be very difficult to deal with sometimes," said Connor, shaking his head.

I waved goodbye to the others.

As we were outside of the house, I saw Kara looking down at us from her window, and I realized her room was next to Connor's, based on the same view they shared.

She was so beautiful standing there, with her glowing sun-kissed skin. I turned away from her dazzling beauty, confused why Connor chose me instead of her. She's like the sun, and I'm like the dirt—there was nothing beautiful about me.

Connor dropped me off back at my apartment.

"Why did you choose me instead of Kara?" I couldn't help to ask as he walked me to the door.

He stopped, and we both turned around to face each other.

"Because I don't love her," he reminded me again, in a low voice.

I should feel good that he doesn't, but I don't; instead, I'm still confused as to how he cannot fall for her.

"But she's like the sun, beautiful. How can you not fall for her beauty?" I asked, puzzled, peering into his eyes.

"Some find the sun beautiful, but I think the moon to be more beautiful, even though it doesn't shine as bright as the sun, because there is this beautiful peace it brings." He placed his hand against the side of my face.

I felt a powerful, arousing feeling in my gut by his words, and it grew even stronger when he said, "You make my wolf at peace every time I see you, think of you, hear you speak, and smell you."

He leaned forward, and I closed my eyes when his lips, so soft and warm, touched mine, and I felt a bubbly and tingling sensation in my stomach when he kissed me.

"It's true," I said with a bright smile as our lips parted.

Holding his head still close to me, "What?" Connor said, puzzled at my action.

"I felt butterflies in my stomach and heard birds chirping," I said, making it very obvious that it was my first kiss.

"You're not only the most awkward human I've ever met but also crazy," Connor said with a smile.

He again kissed me, and this time I felt as if we were floating in the air.
