Chapter 18: A Threat

   ALEXANDER’S POV

    “What do you mean she wants to kill me! That pest! That weakling! How dare she!”

“Relax Lauren, she was just angry that you killed her friend no biggie.” I said, realizing what I might have caused.

“Besides, we have more pressing matters to be worried about, remember? we need to focus on that.” I added.

“You do not understand Alex, you might think she is not a threat but I won’t. I’ll never underestimate an enemy, that would be foolishness.” Lauren retorted. We were currently in her room which is on the vip section for the School council members. We had discussed a number of things, I even told her about my new found interest in a beautiful lady called Elsa, but it seems that was my biggest mistake. Lauren was never someone who tolerated weakness, not to talk of a nobody from Bulgaria. 

I told her how beautiful Elsa is, but she felt that didn't matter since Elsa, had a weak bloodline, but that wasn’t my worst mistake, i had accidentally told her about how she was angry about Lauren killing her friend, I only wanted to highlight Elsa’s bravery when she said she’ll kill Lauren. Lauren didn’t see it that way, to her, it felt like a real threat added to the hatred she already had for Elsa.

“I assure you she can’t do anything.” I said, trying my best to convince her.

“Yeah, sure we’ll see.” She replied, with a forced smile on her face. I had made quite a terrible mistake, Elsa’s life is obviously in danger, Lauren is ready to stoop to the lowest to make sure Elsa is put in her place. It’s good I didn't tell her anything else about Elsa, who knows what she could have done.

“I’ll be on my way now.”

“What? No. We still have things to discuss. Where are you heading to?” She asked, bearing a suspicious gaze as her left brow went up.

“Nah, just remembered something I have to settle now.” I answered, as I approached the door.

“You can’t change the outcome, she must be dealt with.” Lauren said, crossing her legs.

“I would like to see you try.” I replied, heading out. I needed to find Elsa, heck! I still didn’t know where her room was, the last time Lauren felt like someone was a threat she skinned the person alive. How could I be so oblivious to this fact.

Please Elsa be safe, I thought to myself. I had been walking for a while without realizing I had almost reached the school morgue. 

“I’m sure they observed that horrible ritual again.” I said aloud, remembering the experience I had during my own time as a fresher, I lost a few people I had begun to bond with. I decided to go back to Lauren and maybe crack a deal with her so she can stay off Elsa, but then, I could see a silhouette in the distance beside the morgue entrance. It was a werewolf, a huge one too. I decided to get closer, the werewolf wasn't moving from the spot it stood. 

“Alexander get back!”

“Wait a second, Salvatore? Is that you?” I asked, unsure. No one had really seen Salvatore in his werewolf form, he was the administrator of the academy, he wasn’t a lecturer or one of the trainees so he hardly had any reason to turn. But the voice was very recognizable, it sounded very much like his.

“Just get back inside son.”

“Okay okay I’m going.” I said, but my eyes flashed past someone inside the morgue behind him.

“What is Elsa doing in there? What did you do to her?” I asked, facing him again. No wonder he was sounding rather suspicious, why would Elsa be on the floor inside the morgue? Is she dead? The questions kept increasing in my head as I couldn’t understand anything anymore.

“Do not force my hand.” Salvatore replied.

“No! You step out of my way” I said, my anger suddenly reaching a melting point. I ran forward, clearing the distance between us in seconds. I didn't waste any time as I drove the underside of my forearm down onto his nose with bone crushing force. Salvatore stepped back a little but he didn’t seem fazed at all. He came at me with repeating snaps in the air trying to get a bite of me with his jaws.

I couldn’t dodge all his attacks, he bit me at times, the pain was intense, I decided to parry his attacks by pushing his snort to the side but he caught hold of this and slashed at me in the chest, sending me far back.

“I do not want to hurt you Constantine, you have to leave now.” Salvatore said, returning to where he was standing before like some sort of guard.

“I must see her, what are you doing to her?” I yelled, kicking at the air with the momentum needed to get me back on my feet. I pulled off my shirt displaying my toned chest and abs, wasting no time, I pushed of the ground jumping swiftly in the air, I made a fake move as though I was giving a straight punch, he slashed at my hand but that was when he was met with a powerful kick to the side which suddenly threw him off balance.

Not letting him the time or space, I closed the distance again sending punch after punch. I didn’t see it. But it came nonetheless. Salvatore threw a powerful hook at my jaw, sending me back again.

“Thats it Salvatore.” I said, transforming into my werewolf form. My transformation didn't take time, the white from my hair enveloped my entire body, you could see the pulsing muscles all over my werewolf body. I reached Salvatore in a second giving him a slash on his face, but his arm had already blocked the attack. 

He bit into my shoulder, trying to throw me back, but I tightened my grip to the ground, sending him a back kick. I ran to the entrance of the morgue, but he tackled me, bashing me to the floor. Salvatore was a veteran when it came to fighting, father had told me about him during their time, when they were still in Sheffield.

“You know the difference between me and you?” I asked him.

“Do tell.” 

“I’m the direct descendant of an Alpha.” I responded.

Without warning my form began to enlarge rapidly.
