Chapter Three: Dreams

"Lola Mi, I'm home!" I said cheerfully as I entered our house.

But there was no Lola Mi to greet me at the door. I went straight to the living room to put my

bag on the sofa before starting to walk to find my grandparents at home. I went to the kitchen,

expecting that Lola Mi and Lolo Di were there preparing dinner but I didn't find them. I also

looked for them in their room, maybe they were just taking a nap yet they are not there either. I

looked for them throughout the households but I found no trace or shadow of them. I was about

to sit on the sofa to wait for them because they might have just left for a while when suddenly I

heard a scream outside the house.

The screams were coming from grandma's garden so I hurried out of the house and went there.

I was surprised at what I found, the plants in my grandma's garden have their own lives and

currently the plant roots wraps my grandparents.

Lola Mi, Lolo Di! "I shouted in fear.

"Quinley, my granddaughter.Go run" Lola Mi said.

I cried and shook my head at what my Grandma says. I couldn't follow what she was saying

especially that I know their situation.

'I can't leave them like that. I have to find a way.I need to.'

I immediately wiped away my tears while looking for something to cut in the plant on the kitchen,

when I found what I was looking for I hurriedly acted. I cut the all the roots that blocked my path.

I spent a few minutes in cutting those roots before I reached my grandparent's position.

Because every time I cut a root, there is new one will appear. Sometimes I was also blocked by

small plants placed in the pot so that I could be stumble.

"What the fu—!" I exclaimed with frustrations.

"Engoní , leave us. Run away!" Lolo Di said.

"Quinley, listen to us and get out of here now!" Lola Mi added between her sobs.

I cried again as I shook my head because of what they were saying. We were all just crying in

despair when suddenly there was a coiled vein in my left leg and I was pulled.

I held my grandmother's hand tightly, and my grandfather also held my arm so that the vein that

wrapped around my leg would not pull me away.

But the plants were just so strong, which caused me to let go of my attachment to my grandparents.

"Lola Miiii, Lolo Diii !!" I shouted.

When I was finally pulled by the vein, my eyes suddenly darkened.

"Quinley, engoní! Wake up!" I heard as I was being shaken by someone.

I suddenly opened my eyes due to shaking and fear. I immediately turned to sit on the bed, I

faced my grandparents sweating and chasing my breath.

"Engoní, are you okay?" Grandma Mi asked while sitting next to my bed.

I just nodded in response before I wandered my eyes around my room. I looked at the clock

hanging above the door then looked back at my grandparents in front of me. It's twelve o'clock

in the evening but as far as I know I'm just got home. Isn't it?

"Quinley, are you really okay? Grandpa repeated on Grandma's question.

"Y-yes I a-am o-okay." I stuttered in response.

"Are you sure, Engoní?" grandma Mi asked to make sure.

I nodded again before taking a deep breath.

"Then your grandmother and I will go back to our room."

"All right. Good night grandpa Di! Good Night Grandma Mi."I said softly.

"Good Night engoní." they said in unison.

They hugged me first before they left my room. While I remained sitting and I just leaned my

head on the headboard of the bed.

"It's about twelve in the evening, but as far as I know I haven't had dinner yet. Most of all, I just

came home from school." I was confused talking to myself.

I looked up at the ceiling while deep in thought. A few minutes also passed before I realized

something. I looked again at the clock hanging above the door.

"Shit! The clock isn't running. It's still twelve o'clock." I whispered.

I'm still in a dream, how many times should I dream, fuck! I don’t want to be stocked in here.

Gradually fear filled my whole being when I felt someone turn the doorknob of the room. I

quickly lay down on the bed and covered myself with a blanket. I see two people from my veil.

Are they my grandparents—wait.

"Princess, we know you're awake." I feel the sarcasm of the person who just spoke.

Wait, not grandparents so who are they?

"Don't be afraid, my princess." someone said

Princess, what is this, a joke? I'm scared right now, but they even managed to joke around. Am I

still dreaming?

"Princess, you won't be able to sleep here but you have to wake up from this nightmare."

"Skatá, they're coming!"

"Impossible! Quinley wake up!"

Shit! Shit! Shit! I'm going to wake up now. I'm going to wake up!

I breathed in the air heavily when I woke up again. I wandered my eyes and found myself in the

living room.

"I fell asleep on the sofa."

I sat up from lying down then looked at the clock hanging on the wall.

"The clock is working, that means this is not a dream anymore." I whispered.

However, there is no one beside me to wake me up. I guess my grandma and grandpa are busy

in the kitchen because I hear some noise in there.

If it was a dream, why did the two people there seem real. They woke me up as if they knew I

was in a dream.

'What the hell, there are so many weird things happening in my life. I hope there is nothing more

because I will be stressed-out if the weird things continue.'
