Vincent's POV

I came across the same woman from the previous night. Her petite curves, blonde hair and blue eyes were still intact like I saw the other night. However, the pendant which intrigued me that night wasn't visible on her neck. I could swear that I knew that emblem and could recognize it even in my sleep.

She wasn't different from other women I had fun with. My thoughts drifted back to her pendant. There was no way she could have easily bought jewelry with the symbol of a rival empire. The Alexander empire hadn't made a move against me in years. They had been extremely active in my younger years, when my parents were still alive, and I was there that night, when my  mother was killed by their men. I was only 15, planning to run away with my life intact, but something spun in me. I couldn't run away from my enemies, I had to fight and get my revenge.

I squeezed the security man who had gone in search of the woman by his neck.

“Where is she?” I barked, my grip even tightening.

“I'm sorry boss, but…but it seems she has run away,” The man in black choked as he spoke. I released my grip, and he landed on the floor.

Michelle stood behind me, obviously shivering. “If she comes here again, detain her till I come.”

“Do you understand?” I raised my voice, jolting her out of whatever thoughts were in her head.

“Yes sir.”

I hissed, returning back to my private booth. I made a call, informing Leonardo to cancel all transactions on the card. The card was just for my lazy spending. I barely kept enough there, aside from money for drinks.

Seeing that she had stolen my card, it could also be possible that the pendant she wore that night was also stolen. To get to a better conclusion about who she was, I made another call to Leonardo, ordering him to run an investigation about her. If she was in any way related to the Alexander empire, I was going to kill her and everyone else involved. I still hadn't gotten my revenge on them.

“Bring my drink to my office,” I ordered Michelle who was still standing near me. I hadn't dismissed her yet.

She nodded her head, and I shot her a hard glare, something mixed with disgust and irritation.

“Yes sir.” She corrected herself immediately, before moving away.

I headed to where I considered my office. It looked like a regular room situated upstairs, just like all the rooms at my club. The blue light gave the room a warm glow. There was a king sized bed at the corner and at the other corner, a rectangular table and a chair. The shelves were stacked with varieties of my favorite wines.

I took off my jacket and hung it on the chair. Behind the chair was a wall, with a bronze lion head acting as a decoration over the wall. I raised the polished head, and it revealed a number of buttons, with numbers on them. After inserting my passcode, the wall opened like a door, revealing a cold room, stacked with dollar bills from top to bottom.

The club was one of my investments that I used for money laundering for my business.

I counted a bunch of bills to fill my suitcase that I held. This place was so private, that even my most trusted man, Leonardo, had no idea of it. I had a deal to seal with a group of Kingpins. They were to supply me with firearms for my next mission execution.

A knock sounded on the door, and I suspected Michelle had arrived already with my order.

“Come in,” I ordered after I had sealed the safe carefully.

The man whom she sent came inside with a tray in his hand. The tray contained my favorite whiskey with a glass cup. He dropped it on the table before turning to leave.

My eyes lingered on his ass as he strutted to the door. His waist swayed a bit, but I brushed the thought off, focusing on the tray in front of me. He worked at my club after all, there would be enough time for me to hit on him if I wanted.

I reached out to Leonardo once again on the phone. I wasn't the type of person to go on deals alone. Most of the men I did business with couldn't be trusted, and most times, fists resolved conflicts faster.

“I'd be right there boss,” Leonardo said over the phone.

One of the reasons I worked with Leonardo over the years was his ability to keep to time. He arrived at the club in less than thirty minutes.

I was already out of my room, standing on the staircase with the suitcase in my hand. We walked out of the club together, heading to where my SUV was parked.

“How are the preparations going?” I asked him, breaking the silence between us.

“It's going well so far. The men have agreed to sell quality guns as far as we give them…”

“I don't mean that.” I cut him short. “The nanny for the kids, how's preparations been?”

“Oh. An interview will be held soon. We are still selecting women for the job.”

“Leonardo,” I called out, just before we entered the car.

“Nothing should happen to my kids this time.”

“Everything would be safe.” He responded.

We entered the car and the driver hit the road, driving through the dark night to our expected destination.

My brows were knitted in a frown as I remembered the previous nanny of my twins. She had been careless enough to let the kids out of her sight, causing them to be kidnapped. I had made sure to take care of her, so that she won't ever repeat such a mistake.

I fired a bullet into her head, making sure she won't be alive to repeat such stupidity. I could be careless about my sex escapades, but I was never careless about my children.

My instructor was extremely impressed by the way I acted my script flawlessly.“A standing ovation for Miss Carter.” She stood up, and other students stood up, giving a round of applause.“You're meant to go places.” She smiled at me as soon as the play was done. “Are you interested in our show in Paris?”“I'm still thinking about it.” I responded with a smile.“Good. I hope to see you there.”As she left, I took a deep breath, unsure if I would be able to make that trip. Money wasn't a constraint, but time and freedom. I was stuck here doing my uncle's work, and until the mission was resolved, I couldn't leave. It was almost evening and I suspected that the children would be on their way back. Like Bruno said, I had to make sure I came back before the children returned.I clutched my bag and walked out of the training school. A red car with tinted glass seemed to be following me. I didn't give it thought as I presumed the driver was headed in the same direction as mine.I shrieked as

I woke up to the faint morning light slipping through the window, and my phone lying on my chest. I gasped as I glanced at the clock which read 6 am. I stayed up during the night, waiting for Anthony's call, but it never came. I swiped through my call logs and my fears were confirmed, he actually didn't call me.I dialed his line a couple of times, but got no response. I took a deep breath, brushing off the negative imaginations that I had about Anthony in a room with a woman.A knock sounded on my door as soon as I got out of bed. I opened it to see Bruno standing there with a transparent file in his hand.“Goodmorning Miss D…” He froze, staring at me like there was something abominable on my face. He wore a surprised look, and his brow was slightly raised.Oh shit. I cursed and slammed the door. My heart began beating at an accelerated rate. ‘How could I be so careless?’ I chided myself.I tried hard to steady my raging heartbeat as I stared at the mirror. I had taken off my wig, br

I would have minded my business and gone downstairs if the grunts didn't get louder. It sounded more like sounds of anguish. I followed the direction of the sound, taking calculated steps, so that if it was something dangerous, I could easily run away.My jaw slacked slightly as I met Vincent in the room, squirming on the floor while placing a piece of cloth over his chest. Before I could turn to leave and pretend like I never saw this, his eyes locked with mine. They weren't the calm grey eyes that I knew. They were slightly reddened as though he had been crying.“Quick. Get hel…” Before he could complete his statement, he passed out.My mind raced as I moved closer to him, pulling the cloth that was placed on his bare chest. It covered a small wound. The injury looked too small to cause so much pain. I was torn between getting help or just leaving him there to die. After all, he was my rival.“Boss, you called me, just hold on.” I heard a man say as he hurried into the room.I had s

DiegoThe twins were still on my mind till evening, especially Ted. He had been so expressive. It wasn't like I hated his sister, but he just seemed like an easier nut to crack.I dropped the empty glass that I had given Ted to drink water with in the kitchen. I decided to save Bruno the stress of washing it and just decided to wash it myself.Bruno had warned me about wandering the halls. His reason was that Vincent hates it. I decided to have a little peek outside the house, just to have a clue of where I would be spying. There wasn't much outside, except the flowers planted around, the wide space and a small bungalow by the side which I suspected belonged to the security men who manned the gate.I was about to check out the backyard when I heard a loud horn from outside the gate. A man approached and slid open the gate. Vincent parked his car and walked towards the house briskly, ignoring my greeting.Even though his movement was hurried, it didn't stop me from noticing a red stain

Vincent's POVMy grip on the steering wheel was tight, almost as if I wanted to crush it. I hit the steering a couple of times as I tried hard to control the rage brewing in my chest. My boy was angry at me. Those tantrums he threw bore into my soul. I hoped he didn't hate me the same way I hated my father while growing up. I still hated him till now.I knew I could sacrifice the whole world for my children. They were all I had. I hit the steering one more time as I recalled the incident at Pixie land. My assistant had chosen the place carefully as a place to spend quality time with the kids.Just the first night of being there, someone infiltrated our suite and tried to stab Ted with a knife. Of course Ted is a deep sleeper and was still sleeping when I dragged the man out of the room. That posed a lot of threat to my kids and I had to withdraw them instantly. If only Ted knew that I was caring for him and not being harsh and strict. We left as soon as the ugly incident occurred.I d

“Mr. Vincent doesn't like people wandering the halls.”I paused midway as I heard Bruno's voice. I turned towards him and he had the same warm smile on his face.“Oh. I'm so sorry,” I muttered as I strolled back towards the dining table. I had already walked towards the far end of one of the corridors before Bruno interrupted.Bruno gave a satisfactory nod at my apology. “I know you may need a tour around the house, but Master Vincent hates when the workers roam about places besides their area of work.”“I totally understand,”He nodded his head the second time. I wondered if that's what he does all day. Cook, clean and smile. He was a valet and a chef.I felt like throwing more questions at Bruno. Questions that would allow me to know more about Vincent and how I can carry out my job perfectly. I stared at Bruno from over the counter, I couldn't afford to ask him directly about what Vincent normally does.“So, how is work here like?”Bruno chuckled as he heard my question. “My work i
