Nora stood up immediately when she saw her father enter the hospital. She ran to him and hugged him tight. "Dad," she whimpered. Akex gently patted her back. "Everything is going to be fine," he said. She disengaged from her father and pointed towards the emergency unit. They were about to leave the spot when Fred's mum rushed into the hospital. "That was weird," Nora muttered. "Maybe he just doesn't want to allow strangers in his car. Don't think too much about it," Alice said. "And now we have to walk back to the hospital," Nora scoffed. Alice chuckled slightly. "Let's hurry back. The boys must be awake by now," Alice said. "I doubt that's possible. They were injected with sedatives. It will take a while for them to regain consciousness," Nora said. "Let's just go check on them," Alice said, rolling her eyes. Nora nodded and they walked off. ...Alice and Nora walked into the ward and met Martha still sitting by her son's bed. The boys were still unconscious. Alice walked briskly to the hospital ward. She had sprinted from the car immediately when they got to the parking lot. She was so worried that she couldn't sleep well the previous night. She opened the door and saw that the boys were awake. "Thank God you're okay," she said and rushed to hug Reggie. Reggie chuckled slightly. "I'm fine, lollipop," he said. "I told you not to call me that again," Alice said and hit him slightly. Reggie winced in pain.Alice quickly disengaged from the hug."Are you okay?" She asked with concern. Reginald smiled. "I'm fine. Just pulling your legs," he said.Alice gritted her teeth. "Just be thankful that you're in the hospital right now or I swear I would break your bones for scaring me like that," she said in one breath. Reggie stared at her and suddenly bursted into laughter. Alice tried to hit him but stopped herself. She turned to Fred. "How are you feeling now?" She asked. "Really? Why didn't I get a hug too?" Fred said, pouting his lips.

Nora walked into the house. She passed her father's study and saw the door opened. She peeked in and saw him sitting with his head thrown back and his eyes closed, numerous files scattered on his desk. He looked miserable from a distance. She wanted to go in when she saw her mother approaching with a tray in her hands. She quickly hid herself. She had no idea why she did that. "She wasn't doing anything bad after all, so why did she feel like she needed to hide?" The question rang in her brain.She watched her mother walk into the study. She peeked in to get a clearer view. For some reasons that she can't comprehend, she felt that she might hear something if she stayed enough. Maybe for a few more minutes. "I brought your coffee," Penelope said, gently placing the tray on the small table directly opposite the desk. She sat on the couch beside it and poured the coffee. Alex stood up from the chair and went to sit next to his wife."Thank you honey," Alex said, taking a sip of the cof

The doctor gave Fred his clutches."You will have to use these for a while, you'll be fine in a few days," he said. He turned to Martha."Please make sure they come regularly for check-ups," he said. "I will make sure of that, thank you very much sir," Martha said. The doctor nodded and left."We'll take our leave now," Martha said to the rest as she helped Fred out of the room. Fred turned at the door and waved at the rest. The room was silent as the three of them were hesitant to talk. Reggie made to stand from the bed when he accidentally hit his wounded arm. He let out a painful yell. Alice and Nora rushed to him but Nora was faster. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt? Do I need to call the doctor?" Nora rushed her questions with concern evident in her voice. Alice glared at her, her face, green with jealousy. She had noticed that Nora had a thing for Reggie. Who wouldn't? Reggie walked into the garage. He laid on the only available couch, staring blankly at the ceiling. He decided to go to the main house to check on his father when the door opened. His father walked in. "Dad?" He called in surprise. Charles walked in. He stood at a corner. "I realized that we haven't really seen each other for the past few days, so I came here to hang out with you," he said. He saw the cast on Reggie's arm."You got hurt?" He asked and walked to him. He sat next to him. "How? Where? When?" He rushed the questions, his voice laced with worry. Reggie thought hard. He was trying to come up with a convincing story. He didn't want to tell his father that he got into an accident. "I got hurt while playing football in school the other day. It's nothing serious. The doctor just insisted that I wear a cast to protect it from getting infected," he said. Fred walked up to his mother who was sitting outside their trailer. He contemplated whether to tell her about what was on his mind but he later decided otherwise. He turned to go back into the trailer. Martha turned around when she heard footsteps. She saw her son struggling to walk into the trailer with his crutches. She called out to him. "Come sit with me "she said as she gently tapped the empty space beside her. Fred walked back to his mother and sat next to her. They both looked up to the sky. It was a starry night. It had become an habit of Martha's to stare at the stars on a starry night. She believed her late husband had become one of the stars shining bright and watching over them.Tears welled up in the corner of her eyes threatening to fall. She blinked in order to stop the tears from falling. Fred didn't notice the tears in his mother's eyes until she sniffed. His gaze traveled to her face. "Mum, you're crying," he said softly.
