Delicate and Tempting

Chapter 6

Maurice's POV

I tried to hide my excitement, as I sat waiting for the love of my life. ‘How would I break the good news to her?' I cleared my throat while adjusting my tie, practicing the best way I would reveal I had found a new job to Natalie.

The message for my job contract came in a week after my mom left for a business meeting in Norway, she was chosen to go along with the boss of the company where she worked.

I could feel my hands shaking nervously no matter how hard I tried to conceal it. In the aired lounge, I felt sweat trickling down my biceps. I still wondered if the news of getting a job as a sales representative would make Natalie elated.

While reading the contract text from Salesrite Company for the twentieth time, I tried to figure out what was enthralling about tuxedos that made people wear them. Still in great discomfort because of my attire, I studied the finishings and splendid beauty of the Five Star Restaurant I booked.

After the first date with Natalie, I had intentionally saved inorder for us to visit a nicer restaurant the next time. A nice restaurant and a nice outfit for Natalie, pending the very day I would propose to her to be my girlfriend.

The voice of a dining attendant jolted me out of my thoughts.

“Welcome to Restaurant De Grandeur" The attendant said with a smile, his voice was tinged with a french accent.

He handed me the restaurant's menu.

“I do not think I will be ordering now, I will call you when I am ready"

“Alright, feel at home" he said.

“Oh! Here she comes!" I said nervously, the moment Natalie walked in. She seemed to be in pain from the way she walked.

While I moved over to assist Natalie, the attendant added another menu to the table and left.

‘Shit!' the flower I had hidden at the back of my seat fell. I could hear Natalie giggling, while I picked it up. My hands quaked even more.

She looked absolutely radiant in the mustard yellow gown she wore, and when I beheld her beautiful face I couldn't help but blush in shyness.

“You look beautiful Nat" I said

“You're the most beautiful woman on earth!" I continued breathlessly.

“Woah! That's huge" she said musically.

Continuing, she spoke “You're in a tuxedo Maurice!"

She covered her mouth with her right palm, hoping to give the impact that she is utterly shocked.

“I never thought tuxedo will be your thing"

“Well, you are right" I affirmed.

“It is not my style but I can do anything for you Nat., gentlemen dress in tuxedos to meet ladies like you, innit?"

I winked and her laughter filled the lounge.

“Ouch!" She winced in pain. I noticed the unusual redness in her right foot.

“I shouldn't have accepted Letticia's idea of wearing this weird heels, her skilled tongue made me do it"

I chuckled when I discovered that Natalie's heels was shaped in the letter “S".

Natalie spoke as if she read my thoughts “It's funny right? I don't know how she was able to walk on them, I barely walked from the entrance door to your seat"

I knelt beside Natalie, ignoring the glares of the few people present in the lounge. In few seconds, I helped her removed her shoes and afterwards massage the sore area shortly. We laughed heartily the moment Natalie understood that the people glared, because they thought I was about to propose.

Her perfect dentition gave me more reasons to fall more deeply in love with her. I caught the sight of her exposed thigh from the slit dress she wore, and I could feel my heart racing faster.

I stood up abruptly, presenting the flowers to her as a way of hiding the enormous nervousness I felt.

“Sunflowers for a lady who is as beautiful and bright as the sun"

“With all pleasure, sire" Natalie said, receiving the flowers.

“Thank you so much Maurice, the massage, I feel better now"

I kissed her hands while she smelt the flowers.

“Let's eat Nat, it's getting late. Tell me about Letticia, your new friend!"

In the meantime, I didn't speak to Natalie about my new job when we sat at the lounge. I brought it up when we headed home.

“Urrgh!" That was Natalie.

“How I hate taxis!, in conditions like this I miss his presence"

“His driver would come pick me up, us rather, and now they are stuck in Norway for two whole weeks! Isn't that too much for a meeting" she asked, rolling her eyes the same time. She was referring to her father.

“Wait! Norway?" I asked, suddenly realizing Mark Escobar and my mom were in the same place because of their job.

“Mmmh... You said something about your mom being in Norway too right?"

“My dad promised me a car only if I proceed to work for his company, can you imagine that?" Natalie scoffed.

“Speaking of a job... I got a job contract last week, and I will be resuming tomorrow"

“Really?!" She asked enthusiastically.

In response, my voice seemed inaudible as a bright light struck, displaying Natalie's face clearly. Her blue eyes glistened in the darkness that enveloped us, then came a bolt of thunder and it began to rain.

“I will work as a sales representative in Salesrite Company Nat!" I spoke, raising my voice.

It was obvious she heard nothing, she stood smiling at the rain, her brown hair was nearly drenched and her gown stubbornly clinged to her body.

The curvy watermelons on her chest looked succulent, as they danced left and right while she played under the rain. I swallowed audibly, trying to control my darting eyes.

Shortly after, the rain lessened to a drizzle and lines of taxis began to make their way through. I was delighted when I noticed that Natalie never left her flowers, despite the rain.

I helped her get into the taxi because of her feet, lifting her in my arms before we bade each other farewell. We shared deep eye contact while she was rested on my arms, and I saw every detail of her face.

Natalie's lips were perfect as her eyes and body, like a work of art, sculpted to perfection, red, delicate and tempting.

As I journeyed home, I was quite sure I was finished, so finished, I have fallen helplessly for Natalie!.
