ANMELDENVIENNE'S POV
Another uproar.
I didn't think much of this before doing what I did last night before going to bed. I was merely appreciating something that looks good, but it turns out to be working for me.
“Ha!”
The tiny laughter escaped my lips on reflex at the chaos I had caused again.
Not in the school group; maybe partially.
But on I*******m.
And Minerva's high school students were almost everywhere. As my followers.
Posting Damon's picture on my page last night had stirred another huge ripple.
This time, last night, without any ulterior motives, I had posted the picture from the store on my I*******m and it had gone wild below the post overnight.
I smiled as the seemingly endless notifications of likes and reactions dinged nonstop.
It had subtly hinted at something that even I didn't think of.
Mom and dad said I went on a date yesterday evening?
Minerva's high student said it was with Damon Calloway.
And they had moved the discussion to the schools group page.
My eyes narrowed at a thought. Yes, I had quoted nothing but let the people spin out stories on their own. With a smile, I scrolled through the comments without denying or approving their assumptions.
It's just a matter of time…
Except if Ryan is a robot and not human.
Except if the two years with Ryan was just nothing, he would definitely feel the heat from all these.
Going out with someone else shortly after our break up, right under his nose should question and mess with his ego.
*************
The bell rang for lunch break and I threw a sneer at the empty seat beside me. Was Calloway trying to humiliate me by going on ghost mode today?
He's got guts skipping three periods straight. I sourly wondered where on earth he might have disappeared to before making my way to the cafeteria.
Just as I received my food order and turned to go find a seat, the sight of Ryan greeted me.
He was with Amelia again.
They had bothered to walk into the cafeteria with a friend of his. I want to believe it's because their relationship is still new that is why they are almost always together.
We weren't this close.
Ryan would call it unnecessary and childish.
I had forgotten myself while standing until a snort escaped from his lips. He threw me one of those bored and distant gaze of his before walking off with his crew to find a seat.
Blood rushed to my scalp.
That wasn't the reaction I was expecting…
Well, we shouldn't rush the process; I'm just in a hurry to get back together with him. Whatever result I get should be my guide to the next plan. I gripped my food tray before looking round the hall for a seat and my eyes fell on a secluded table by a corner.
With a brooding look, Damon sat there as he calmly devoured whatever he had in his food tray. nose instinctively scrunched up in disappointment. He had the nerve to skip classes but come running into the cafeteria for food as soon as the bell rang?
Before I knew it, I had already matched towards his seat.
“Skipped classes but nothing would stop you from stuffing your stomach?” I taunted and his finger hand paused mid journey.
He finally and calmly raised his head to look at me and for a moment, my heart skipped a beat. My eyes lingered a bit on the old scar that peeked out from his hairline while his piercing green eyes assessed me carefully.
“Never knew stalkers get to judge” his voice was hoarse.
It took me a moment to realize what he said and I scoffed.
“Stop whining. I'm not a stalker. And stop pretending like you don't like the comments. I did a great job taking the clean picture. Had you been present in class today, you would have strengthened the people's assumption that we were going on a date last evening.”
“Didn't realize.” He gave me a monotonous response again; but somehow that didn't seem to make me feel less or uncomfortable. Realizing I've been standing, I took a seat before him settling my food down.
He abruptly stopped eating without raising his head, like he was processing the whole thing. Even I, could not believe what I was doing. For years, he'd always eaten alone and must have been waiting for me to leave after talking.
He questioningly raised at me one of his perfectly shaped brows.
“We have to make this whole thing seem real. We're supposed to be dating. It wouldn't make sense if we're always sitting away from each other.
“Suit yourself”
“Also if you are upset about the photo I posted, my bad. It was the thrill of the moment.”
“Hm. A certain person had hinted about notifying me to revise my jotter before going to bed, but they were actually busy creating chaos on the net.”
“Trust me Calloway, whatever happened last night wasn't even part of the plan”
“So you had wanted to upload my picture for no reason?” he murmured with a tiny smirk.
My lips tipped down at how he had interpreted the situation.
“Easy on your journey to obsession with me, Reyes”
And I was practically scowling right now. “Never knew you'd be so full of yourself”
“You might want to smile and ease the tension on your face right now. Your ex-boyfriend seemed to be looking over here” he said nonchalantly, causing me to choke a bit on my dessert.
Ryan was looking over? Was he really?
Right at the moment, I could feel the heat of his gaze on the back of my neck.
“Is he still looking?”
“Yeah”
I adjusted my hair, not knowing why I was getting unnecessarily giddy. “I don't have a food scrap on my lips right? Do I look pretty enough?”
A few seconds passed before his deep low voice rasped out. “Gorgeous”
VIENNE’S POVI didn't panic. There was no ounce of anxiety in me, just as always whenever it's time to write a test or exam; be it notified or impromptu.Today was the day for the test and I sat on my seat, calmly and patiently waiting for the teacher to come in with the test papers. I only let out a tiny exhale, my eyes darting around at my mates in the class as some quietly revised and some frantically talked about the test.My arms were folded before me and I took a side glance at my seat partner.“Just so you know, I won't answer you if you try to ask me for an answer during the test. I don't take part in examination malpractices” I haughtily announced to him and I earned a condescending snort from him.“So?” He dryly asked thereafter without even sparing me a glance. I don't know what to call whatever oozed out of him; maybe non-challance or overconfidence, I couldn't tell. He was just too relaxed, rivaling me in fact.My next retort died in my mouth, immediately the teacher in
VIENNE’S POV“The fuck are you doing Aiden?”Damon bit out coldly at Alex.Don't even get me started with the wrong name issue, I can't get my mind out of the fact that he just pulled me into his embrace and his arm was gently wound around my effing waist.“It's Alex” Alex snapped back, clearly offended at the miscall of his name.“No one gives a damn.” Damon seemed worked up for some reasons, but I was taking note of his simple masculine scent assaulting my nose. Looks like he just had a shower or something. At this point, Alex seemed livid as he clenched his jaw subtly. “What ar_”“You're making my girlfriend uncomfortable.” He simply deadpanned with a frown like he couldn't understand a puzzle, but it had my cheeks flushing.”Keep your distance.”I shamelessly snuggled closer into him ‘What are you doing, Vienne?? Stop whoring out with him!!’ I mentally screamed at myself in reproach. But I still basked in his embrace at the moment and locked eyes with Alex hoping this would pass so
VIENNE'S POVGo! Go! Go!” The basketball coach yelled at his players. It wasn't harsh, it felt more like a thorough encouragement; right where I sat, I could feel my excitement almost getting off board. Watching a player almost make it to the net but get blocked or watching the ball fall out of the net was nibbling at my adrenaline as my feet were tapping the floor restlessly. Here I was again. Waiting on Damon to get done with his practice before leaving for tutoring.“Pass the ball, Aiden!!” The coach , Mr Scott or Scott as he would have them address him, called out in a booming voice again.“Calloway! Calloway! There you go!” The practice went on for a while. And thirty minutes later, the practice was over and the man called them together.“So far, I'm impressed.” The coach said, pride lacing his tone. “You all just need to work on your speed.”What? Their speeds were insane and how they moved so fast with the ball was almost unnatural. So what's the coach saying? I frowned along
Third Person's POVRight after the teacher left, someone followed suit, marching out of the classroom. Amelia. She tried to control the level of her exasperation as she fumed lightly by the class's entrance and she stomped down the corridor to God knows where. As she made her way down the corridor, she fished out her phone and seethed out to it.“Let's meet.” She told the person on the other side. The image of Alex blatantly and shamelessly gazing at Vienne in the class crossed her mind once more and she sneered mentally at the memory. Her fists trembled. What was so good about her??She reached the rooftop and there was another student there. Another classmate of hers; one of the.scholarship students who chooses to be quiet as a result of the heavy classism in the school. Janet. She had always admired Damon who's got guts to stand up against the school elites and even look down on them. Totally different from her who would do anything to keep her scholarship and stay out of trouble w
VIENNE’S POVWe lost.Minerva's high lost the game. The students’ quietly gossiped in vexation. They carefully whispered still as though they were wronged but still afraid of saying so much about the game but I had already heard just enough about it.The school team lost to star's academy because of the soccer's quarterback. The information had me frowning; if anything Ryan was a good soccer player, but how he had been the reason for the lost game was beyond me and I couldn't even ask anyone. All I know is, yesterday's evening with Dawn made my Day. A sigh of content escaped my lips as fragments of the shopping hangout came into my mind again and I envisioned how it would have been with a kid sister around.“Afternoon class!!” A laughter boomed after greeting. “How has your day been? I hope you all are ready for your project work, huh??!” Mr Kenneth's uncouthly announced as he entered the class just as usual and that had me rolling my eyes. One, I'm sure no one in the class is excited
3rd person's POV True to his words, at 6:35, Vienne found herself standing before the gate to her house. Damon had dropped her off without a word. And she watched as the bike sped off. They had set out this early in hopes of Vienne having enough time to properly get prepared for school. It's not even at a girl's place, but she found herself secretly entertaining the idea of having another sleepover. Maybe this time, it will be planned. By her.The gatekeeper opened the gate.“Miss Reyes?” His shock could not be hidden as he was obviously not expecting her there by that time. She stepped into the compound, mentally preparing herself for her mom's questions and her own answer. Well, she was at a friend's place to sleep over, it was unplanned ‘cause of the rain…**************Two days have passed since the sleepover, and here she was again. At Minerva's high cafeteria. She wasn't eating though.Vienne stared blankly at nothingness with folded arms while her legs which were crossed at
