39. Sweet Sensation

Sometimes Charles would step out to answer calls at his desk and he would immediately return by her side and they would spend time, laughing and talking about each pictures. It was kind of fun how the photos in his phone were so bad that it was funny.

It made her see a whole new perspective of him. She always thought he looked so uptight but as they had coffee and crackers and discovered new things about each other, she realized how wrong she was.

“And this time, I was riding a horse but wrongly attached the saddle—”

The wails of a baby interrupted him and she exclaimed, “Wow, that took so long.”

He nodded, “Yeah. Eight whole hours.”

She stared at him, outrageously saying, “In movies, it happens so fast.”

He laughed, subconsciously tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. He leaned towards her, brushing his hand against her cheek and only drew back when the door opened and Cassandra walked into her office, looking a bit tired but she had a satisfied smile on her face.
