Wedding Reception
Megan raised her glass of brandy to her lips, taking a sip as she watched Cassandra and Selena, swaying elegantly across the dance floor on that slow love song. All eyes were on them, as they were having their first dance. She smiled to herself. They looked so stunning together. Seeing them like that, so lost in each other… it made her rethink about her own ideals on love.
“You think we’ll ever have something as beautiful as that, Cat?” Cattleya glanced at her, letting out a small chuckle, “Who knows... Maybe someday I’ll get a chance to see you in a wedding suit… Mmh, if only you’d allow your dates more than a silly one-night stand. It’s a shame... really.”

“Ms. Kir! You’re here!?” Sitting on an antique velvet chair, a thin white cigarette in one hand, wine in the other, Cattleya watched in amusement as the woman reddened. She flashed her a seductive smile, exhaling the smoke from her lips, “Shouldn’t I be, love?” She swallowed hard, seeing how her arresting green eyes raked her body. She closed her eyes, biting her lips hard, unable to focus as Megan mashed their mouth together. It felt too good. Her other hand descended down her body, playing with the hem of her panties. She tugged it up firmly and she felt that pressure against her crotch. Megan whispered, licking her earlobe, her eyes twinkling mischievously towards Cattleya, “Ask her if she likes what she sees.” She moaned in protest and immediately regretted as the palm landed on her ass, smacking her hard.

Cattleya lit another cigarette, leaned against the balcony, passively watching the party beneath. Some guests were still dancing, clearly drunk. Others were mostly chatting. It was rather calm now with most of the them having already head home. Her eyes searched for her good friend and she chuckled, seeing how April suddenly smeared fondant on Cassandra’s cheek, her adorable mocking laugh nearly drowned the sound of the music. Cassandra grimaced, extending her hands as if to capture her and the little girl went running for safety towards her grandfather who welcomed her in his arms. She then saw Selena walked to her, waving a handkerchief in her hand. She plopped down on her laps, raising the cloth to her cheek to wipe the fondant and instead she leaned forward, deviously licking it off with her tongue. The sky-blue canvas blotted out the rest of the art like an ocean tide. People floated around it, their eyes drawn irresistibly to its depths. It was so captivating that they forgot about the other artworks in the room. The six-foot tall painting was a beautiful mess of colors, and they couldn't help but get lost in it. As she listened, she couldn't help but wonder what the crowd thought of it. “It's strange!” “I could do so much better, ugh.” “Instagrammable, oh my. Babe, let's snap a selfie with that!” She sighed, regretting not covering her ears. As terrifying as that was, she had a long way to go before receiving professional criticisms from actual art critics. She supposed she would have to get by with the guests for the time being. She listened attentively. Some described the painting as abstract and modern. Others expressed their displeasure at their inability to grasp what it was trying to convey. For herself, she saw it as a chance to establish a name and gain popularity.
