Chapter 11: Making Friends

I was sipping a warm cup of coffee out in my private garden that Barb showed me when she brought the coffee up. I thought I heard a noise just over the walls on the other side of the garden area. I was nursing my splitting headache from earlier today when I desperately tried to mind link my mom unsuccessfully when I heard someone's voice.

"Ohhh these are lovely!" I heard a sweet soft female voice coo from the other side of the brick wall.

Curiosity always got the better of me, and my boredom was reaching new heights being that I was locked away in what felt like a gilded cage unless I wanted to be escorted around by Luca and Onyx.

I wasn’t used to being locked away like this. Granted, I was hiding away from everyone right now, in an attempt at avoiding my so-called “pod” of mates. But, none-the-less, I was used to living outside, checking the stones every morning and evening; practicing all the moves Colt taught his men in the training fields as I watched from my perch in the tree
