Chapter 20

Corey POV

"I still can’t believe you made him sit still for two days painting those paintings of him. I mean, that was a challenge. You know how my cousin is; he likes to move around a lot."

"Yeah, but we needed pictures of him. We had none. We don’t want people coming to the castle when there are no paintings of him. If we could have waited a few more days, I could have painted a few more of him. But I bet he wouldn’t let me. He was itching to get out of that chair. When he saw what I painted of him, he actually paid me. I'm thinking since they are coming, and if they solve this problem we have, I'm going to give them the extra money. I didn’t need money from Lucas. I just wanted to do this for him for everything he's done for us." I held my mate tightly to me. I knew how badly she wanted a child. I still remember the day she came home from the coffee shop. She was there with a few friends. She told me she was going shopping and she would be back later. She was at the coffee shop when someone slipped a drug into her coffee - a drug that would stop her from getting pregnant, that would shut down her hormones to keep her from having children. She came home a few hours later. She told me she was feeling a little sick so she went to lay down. We didn’t know what was going on until we went to the doctor the next day. They drew blood, checked her blood pressure and everything else. When the test was done, the doctor told us that there is a drug in her system that would keep her from having children. The drug was only in her system for a few hours, but there is no way to get the drug out of her. She had cried for days. She never wanted to go to functions where the high consoles were there because they had a way to make her feel like shit. They believed she was beneath them since she is unable to have children. So a lot of times, I go alone with my cousin, the king. He hates these gatherings as well. She didn’t want to be at the gathering when Blacks get here as well. When I told her I would be there as well, nothing is going to happen to her. I wasn’t sure when they would get here, but Lucas's tracker keeps us informed. He’s there watching them. I wonder if the leader knows he’s there. Then he's up shit creek without a paddle. I didn't even know what Lucas planned to have for dinner when they do come. Hopefully, it's something good, better than lobster and shrimp. I was starting to think that's all they knew how to cook. I saw the menu that Sasha made up. It looked perfect. I knew she was going to give this to the cooks. This was better than what I thought we would be eating while they were here. Alright, well, it's time to get up anyway. I really didn't want to. I wanted to hold my mate as long as I could. But we would have to get up to go to the bathroom or eat, so we might as well get our asses up and start the day.

Ava pov

Today was the day we were leaving. It was two in the morning, and I really  didn't want to get up. I knew the alarm was about to go off in thirty minutes.  I could lay here and try and get thirty minutes of sleep, or I could go and make coffee and breakfast. I decided since im wide awake i would get up and just go make the coffee, i went to the bathroom, washed my hands, than i got dressed, i wanted to wear something comfortable, so i decided to wear a nice dress, it was light green with flowers around it bottom, with a vneck, I didn’t like it, so I took it off deciding on a pair of loose jeans and a button up pink top, my hair in a bun I slipped on my sandals, than left the room, i knew when Isiah woke up he would follow my scent leading to the kitchen, i started the coffee than started breakfast, by the time the toast, bacon and eggs where done, everyone was up and moving around, they was all groggy, 

“Come on guys you should be used to getting up so early, rise and shine everyone,” they were all mumbling, and complaining, they set down getting coffee and food, when done, they were more awake, Spike and Vegas walked into the door, so did Hawk and Faith, 

"Did we decide who we were going to leave in charge while we were gone?” 

“Yeah, since we are leaving, Selena and William are going to be here in a few minutes, Willaim left his beta in charge of his pack until they get back home, right on cute Selena and her mate walked into the house, 

“Yall need to get going, before you get behind the time, Irish i promise i’ll keep this pack going until you get back,” She hugged us buy, telling us if we need her she is only a mindlink away, we wrote the address down then we got our bags than left, I couldn’t wait to get this over with than get home, hopefully we can get this done early than get home, We were taking four cars since we couldn’t have each other smash into one suv,  we had warriors and guards and the last two cars that was following us, Spike and his mate Vegas, Hawk and Faith in the next car, and there was me, Isiah, and our daughter that is sound the sleep in the backseat, she will be awake in a few hours, coffee never wakes her up anyways, we stopped for gas, making sure we had ice in the cooler for drinks and the food we had, than we hit the road, we were sure how long it would take us to get to where we needed to go, I sat back to relax, i knew the baby wasnt big enough to understand what i was saying to it, but i ended up talking to her or him, just like i did Kayla, 

“Hey there little baby, mommy and daddy loves you very much, we can’t wait to meet you, Your big sissy can’t wait to meet you to,” I sat back to relax so i can enjoy the car ride, the many trees we passed by the buildings that we owed, I started to wonder, is this really more important that we actually had to go and help this king, How come he didn’t have people helping him, did he not know how to rule his kingdom, this was strange, very strange, it was like he didn't know how to do anything and he needed us to help, Maybe Isaiah, will help him through this, Maybe who knows, i closed my eyes because i was a little tired, i'll just catch a little sleep, maybe we will be a little ways there or almost there when i wake up. I just wanted to get there and get started, i wanted to talk to the people that was in charge of the money finances and see what they say, I could always tell when someone was lying, Maybe i can look up the records and see if i see anything that looks out of place, i'm good at doing that as well, lets just hope no one gives us any trouble, we will be new to the kingdom so there probably will be a few that will do that, we will take care of it like we always do,
