LOGINChapter 2 An Unforgettable Night
“Give me a Scotch whisky!” Going to 69’s Club was Alexi’s choice after leaving Arron’s office, a place that had left her nauseous and dizzy.
“Your order, Miss.” A bartender slid over what she had ordered, a large glass filled with crystal-clear ice and a strong alcoholic mix.
Alexi gulped down the golden liquid as it burned its way down her throat. She set the glass aside with only a small amount left, ice cubes clinking inside. “This is completely fucked up. Would men die if they stayed faithful?” she muttered to herself.
The DJ’s music thundered through the club, deafening, the dance floor roaring with people swaying lightly, carefree and unburdened.
She tried to close her eyes, to erase the memory of a few hours earlier in Arron’s office. But the image of that couple seized her mind. “Damn it,” she cursed, failing to chase it away.
Her head lowered, blondish-brown hair falling over her made-up face. Her red dress stood in sharp contrast to her pale, flawless skin.
Her awareness began to blur under the influence of the alcohol. She slid off the chair and made her way to the dance floor, her body swaying unconsciously, as if the music had merged with her.
“Careful, girl.”
An unsteady step nearly sent Alexi stumbling to the floor, but strong hands caught her in time. The scent of woody musk filled her senses, and Alexi etched the fragrance into her memory.
She lifted her face. In front of her stood a handsome man with a sharp jawline, sexy lips, and an athletic body built with solid muscle. “Your arms are hard, handsome.”
Alexi leaned closer while the man, still holding her, remained silent. “Your lips are sexy too. You must be good at kissing. Are you good in bed as well? How long does it take you to climax, hmm?” She was a mess, with no idea what had driven her to say something like that.
“You’ve had too much to drink, Miss. Looks like you have a lot of problems, or maybe your brain does?” The handsome man leaned in as well, his eyes unable to pull away from her red lips and the swell of her chest now pressing forward, her dress barely containing it.
“No, no. My brain is still fine, it’s just my heart that’s the problem.” Alexi tried to stand upright, though it was difficult, everything felt like it was moving. Because of that, she looped her arms around the man’s solid neck. “My boyfriend cheated on me with his coworker. Do you think my brain and heart are okay right now?”
Her slender fingers traced his neck, slid down his muscular arm, and stopped at his wrist. “I like your tattoo,” she said, kissing the hand of the stranger. She could not make out the design clearly, her vision blurred.
The man tensed when her lips brushed his hand. Heat flared through his body, and he leaned down, pressing his lips near the crown of her head. “I have many other tattoos. Want to see them?”
Alexi looked up and rose onto her toes, their lips barely a centimeter apart. She could feel his breath against her mouth. “Sorry, I’m not interested.” She pushed him away and continued toward the center of the dance floor.
Her body moved lightly and freely, following the pounding music. Tonight, Alexi wanted to drown her pain in alcohol.
Lost in dancing, she accidentally bumped into someone behind her. “Oops, sorry.”
“No problem, drunk girl.”
“You.” Alexi turned and lifted her face, her eyes narrowing when she saw it was the man who had caught her earlier. “Did you follow me?”
“I saw you were alone.” With the music blaring, he leaned close to her ear. “I’m making sure you don’t fall.” His hand slid to her slim waist. They swayed together, Alexi’s arms circling his neck.
“Want to find somewhere quieter?” he offered, his hand still resting on her waist. “What’s your name?”
Alexi kept moving her body and ignored Austin’s question, the alcohol fully taking control. All she knew was that she was pressed against the solid body of a stranger.
Their gazes met, and they both fell silent. Swept up in the moment, Alexi leaned in without realizing it, her lips meeting Austin’s. An intense, deeply intimate kiss unfolded in the middle of the dancing crowd.
Austin was lost in the movement of Alexi’s tongue. Without breaking the kiss, he guided her to the side, pressing her back against the wall. His warm tongue invaded her mouth, his hands cupping her firm, shapely ass, everything fitting perfectly in his grasp.
“Ah.” Alexi moaned as Austin’s warm tongue moved along her slender neck. Her chest lifted, her head tilting back as if offering him access.
“Do you want us to go to a hotel?” Austin pulled back, staring at her with desire as her mouth remained open from her soft gasps.
Damn it, her core throbbed. Just kissing had already aroused her. She studied his handsome face, her fingers tracing his jaw now drawn tight.
Her thoughts were a mess, clouded by alcohol. Austin’s kisses set her body on fire.
Whatever crossed Alexi’s mind, she nodded, accepting the invitation of a man she did not know.
Austin quickly booked a room in the same building as the club. The alcohol had a powerful effect on them. Even after entering the room, their kissing never stopped.
“I’m Austin. What’s your name?”
“Alexi.”
Without breaking the seal of their lips, they moved to the center of the bed and shed the fabric clinging to their bodies.
“Slowly. This is my first time,” Alexi said, catching her breath.
“You’re a virgin?”
Her face flushed as Alexi nodded.
“Wow.” Austin shook his head, lifting one eyebrow. “I can’t believe there are still virgin girls in this city.”
“And I’m that girl.”
“Yeah.” Austin wasted no time. After several moments of foreplay, he pushed his manhood inside her. It was his first time making love to a virgin, and there was some difficulty as he breached Alexi’s maiden barrier. Still, his thrusts eventually sank him deep into the core of her body.
Alexi gripped the sheets as she felt the friction of the tip of Austin’s length. Her body tensed, her breath held as the burning sensation struck her intimately. One push, her eyes squeezed shut.
“This will hurt, but I promise it will turn into pleasure. You’ll moan with every thrust,” Austin said as he moved his hips again, still struggling, as if a wall stood in his way.
Unable to bear the sight of Alexi’s pained expression, Austin kissed her lips to distract her from the pain. When he thrust again, his kiss was gentler this time, unhurried, focused on making her comfortable. He also guided Alexi’s hands to his neck.
“Ah.” Alexi broke the kiss as her body felt as if it were being torn, her hands clawing at Austin’s tattooed back.
“Does it hurt?” Austin pulled away, turning his face slightly when he saw tears pooling at the corners of her eyes.
“It feels like you’re tearing my body apart. It’s okay, people say it will feel good later,” Alexi said hoarsely. “I trust you.” They kissed again, and Alexi moaned once more as Austin moved above her.
“Damn, you’re incredible, Alexi.”
“Don’t meet so often at the office. It’s not good.” Hagia adjusted her appearance in front of the mirror, touching up her lipstick and applying the rest of her makeup.“You’re the one who challenged me. This is my office, I can do whatever I want.”Hagia rolled her eyes, catching the man’s silhouette behind her in the mirror.“Do I need to remind you who you really are, Hagia?”The voice struck straight into her chest. Her fingers tightened around her makeup bag, her jaw set hard.“You’re my puppet, so don’t defy me.” After saying that, the man turned and walked out.Hagia stared at the back of the man, far older than her, her gaze sharp, her hands clenched. “I hope Austin can free me from all of this. I want that old man dead so I can be free from being his slave. I’m sure he’s wanted my body for a long time.”**“Damn it, why does he want me to come? What does he mean by this? He must be doing it on purpose.” Inside the car, Alexi grumbled nonstop until she arrived at one of the sky
The door to Hagia’s office opened slowly after Alexi knocked twice. A soft throat-clearing sound came from inside, like someone trying to hide something.“Hey, Lex. Come in!” Hagia approached after putting on her blazer, her smile widening as she stood behind her father. “Dad, didn’t you say you had an appointment with Mr. Michael? You should go. I’ll talk to Alexi first,” she said, gently brushing her father’s arm.Darwis gave a short nod without shifting his gaze from Alexi. “Yes. If you have any difficulties, ask Hagia. She’ll help you, Lex.”Alexi watched the two of them, then nodded and stepped aside to let him pass. “Why do you both look like you’ve just seen a ghost?”Hagia let out a small laugh, too quickly. “No. We were just discussing company files. You showed up suddenly, so we were startled.”Alexi studied her stepsister’s face, then shifted her gaze to Darwis. Something was off. Too many forced expressions, too much silence that felt like it was hiding something.“Do you
"Why did you not listen to me? Why did you not tell me that bastard hurt you? Why did I have to hear it from someone else, Lex?""Quiet. Your wound is being treated." Alexi dabbed antiseptic on the gash in Austin’s shoulder. She was now in Austin’s apartment. "Why were you suddenly there?""I was sent to save you."Alexi stopped moving and lifted her gaze. Their faces were very close. She could see the darkness in his eyes. "Thank you."Austin curved a smile at the panic and relief mixed in her expression. "Only thank you? I saved your life, you know."Alexi pressed a wad of gauze on the torn flesh of Austin’s shoulder and the man yelped."Are you trying to kill me, Lex? This is your gratitude? Wow, I cannot believe this." Austin purposely made a sulking, pained face.Alexi’s lips quivered. If Austin had not come, she did not know what would have happened to her. Arron had been brutally torturing her. She stood abruptly, not wanting to be caught drowning in Austin’s gaze. But a firm h
“Damn it, why do I keep thinking about it,” Alexi muttered, running a hand through her hair as she stared at the rows of numbers on the monitor. “It’s too quiet.”It had been a week since she started working at her stepfather’s company. In that entire time, she hadn’t seen Austin or Hagia even once.Part of her felt relieved that no one was bothering her. But at the same time, she felt lonely. And somewhere deep inside, there was a hollow emptiness. Had she started getting used to Austin’s presence? She had to admit one thing to herself. Her heart was beating normally again. No burning gaze at the back of her neck.No deep voice appearing without warning near her ear.No mocking smile that made her both angry and embarrassed. Her life was straight again, orderly.Too orderly.“Finally done.” She stretched her arms overhead, trying to ease the tension in her muscles.By the time Alexi stepped out of the parking building, the sky was pitch black, without a single star. The night air fel
"Oh, no." Alexi answered quickly as she caught Austin's sharp gaze on her. "It is from someone else." She tossed her eyes away. Damn Austin. Why did he send a message like that? she grumbled silently."Then who is it, Lex?" Hagia demanded. Before Alexi could respond, Austin's phone rang. The man stood, glancing at her and Hagia. "I have to get back to my office.""Okay, I will walk you downstairs." Hagia moved toward her fiancé and they stepped out of the conference room.**"Stupid Austin. Why did he dump all this work on me until I am stuck pulling overtime alone like this?" Alexi muttered nonstop at the mountain of documents on her desk. Hagia could not stay because she had left the office that afternoon for a trip out of town. Typical. The woman was insanely busy."You are not alone." A man's voice answered from the corner.Alexi froze. She turned slowly, her heart banging hard when she saw a man standing in the doorway in a black shirt with sleeves rolled to the elbows, arms fold
“Austin, you really are insane," Alexi whispered shakily. It was not the cold air that made her voice tremble, but the heat of Austin's fingers tracing along her jaw. Her hand pressed lightly against his chest, more a formality than any real resistance."Why? We have not even moved yet." Austin answered low. His voice was deep, scraping down Alexi's spine and forcing a shiver out of her. He grasped her chin, holding her gaze to his."Did you forget where we are, huh?" Alexi tried another excuse, even though her thoughts were already fogging. "If someone comes and sees us then what?"Austin chuckled softly and lifted his hand from her smooth thigh. "These car windows are tinted. No one will see." He leaned closer, his breath warming her lips."Who told you to wear something like this, hm?""Austin." Alexi's tone sounded like a plea with no clear direction. She swallowed hard. "We should not...""We should not be seen," Austin finished. "That is different from not being allowed to do it
