Chapter 521 Do Me a Favor

Aвтор: Five Generals
“Do you know Lightning Tiger?” the thug asked Terry.

“I do.”

Terry smiled with relief.

The thug gazed solemnly at Terry.

Terry appeared rather relaxed in the presence of a gang. Plus, he said he knew Lightning Tiger. The thug suspected Terry was someone important.

“Here comes Boss.”

The thug in the back shouted.

The gang gave way to their leader.

A burly man with a fierce look swaggered his way over.

“I heard an idiot wants to fight my brothers. Where is he? Step forward and show yourself now,” Lightning Tiger said menacingly.

Lightning Tiger fell victim to Kaze today.

All his assets had been surrendered, and he had to pay his respects to James three days later on his death anniversary.

Sure, he was lucky to be alive but he was upset.

So he took his men to enjoy some drinks at Bay Club. Upon learning that one of his brothers got into a fight with a man, Lightning Tiger saw his opportunity to let out steam.

The presence of Lightning Tiger sucked the life out

Terry was dumbfounded. He could not understand why Lightning Tiger would suddenly hit him. The other young men and women were shocked by Lightning Tiger’s stunt. “Why should I do you a favor?”Lightning Tiger said menacingly, “Even if your dad is here, I’m his boss. Who do you think you are?” His voice echoed across the lounge. Lightning Tiger was bummed out today. Yet, a young man acted like he was all that in front of him. Of course, Lightning Tiger had to put him in his place. Terry scrambled to his feet. “I-I was wrong, Lighting Tiger. I won’t do it again.” A strange smell lingered in the room. Everybody sniffed and quickly fixated on Terry. Terry, who gave Kaze an attitude moments ago, had just peed his pants. The looks Terry got were hurtful. He wanted to sink into the ground and disappear from the face of the earth. “Spineless prick. Get lost.” Lightning Tiger kicked Terry to the ground. He stared menacingly at the young men and women in the lounge. Th

“Kaze should have just kept his mouth shut. I must get Darcy to divorce him.” Rose was grateful that Kaze stood up for her. However, Kaze offered her to sit with Lightning Tiger for 100 million dollars per drink. He was trying to make money off her. Rose was disappointed and furious. Only Lightning Tiger frowned. The voice sounded familiar. Before Lightning Tiger said anything, his men went after Kaze. “Fuck! I see an idiot hiding in the corner. Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear when we told all the men to get out?” The man, who had been fooling around with a butterfly knife, yelled while moving toward the dark corner. Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh. Something happened. Before anybody knew it, the thug cried out loud as he was knocked off his feet. He crashed onto the LCD screen on the wall before sliding to the ground. The thug had a lot of cuts all over his body. “That’s not how you use a butterfly knife.” A flat tone ensued. Plop. The butterfly knife, that was su

“Never mind. What’s the point of taking your life? I expect you to pay respects on my buddy’s death anniversary.” Lightning Tiger was relieved. Kaze said, “I have a rule, though. The price of upsetting me is never waived.“Like you, Gold Tooth has surrendered his assets, but he annoyed me again, so I told him to pull out his two front teeth.” Kaze added indifferently, “Leave something behind before you go.” Lightning Tiger thought about it before crawling to grab the butterfly knife Kaze threw on the ground. Gritting his teeth, he stabbed his hand. “Argh!” Lightning Tiger yelled in distress as two bloodied fingers dropped on the floor. “I sliced two of my fingers, Mr. Lee. I keep my arms intact so that I can give Mr. White a proper burial on his death anniversary,” Lightning Tiger said through the pain. Screams echoed in the private lounge. Kaze waved his arm with a blank face. “Beat it.” Lightning Tiger took his men and scrambled with their tails tucked between t

Kaze and Rose arrived at Dynasty Hotel. The building was hung with a huge poster of Taylor, and the security was tight at the entrance. “Let’s join the line to get tickets, Kaze.” Rose dragged Kaze to the end of the line. “Weren’t you going home, Rose?” The members of the fan club came along. Terry was among them. He had a change of clothes. He turned his head away in distress when he saw Rose. Terry was scared and resentful toward Kaze. Kaze embarrassed and cockblocked him tonight. He did not expect the husband of Rose’s cousin to be a good fighter. Kaze managed to disarm Lightning Tiger’s subordinate and spook Lightning Tiger to get on his knees. At first, Kaze blew Terry’s mind away. Later, Terry convinced himself that Kaze was simply good at fighting. That was nothing else worth commending. “Yeah. Kaze agreed to take me to the meet-and-greet,” Rose said proudly. They chatted until it was their turn to get the tickets. “Hello there. I would like to purcha

An MPV cruised along under the protection of the bodyguards in suits. No doubt it was Taylor in the car. A group of young men and women grew excited. One of the fans shouted, “We should tell Taylor about the unauthorized ticket price increase by the organizer. Taylor cares about us fans. She will help us.” “That’s right. We should let Taylor know.” The others agreed. Once Taylor stepped out of the parked MPV, the group started yelling. “Taylor, the organizer raised the ticket price without permission!” “We want a fair ticket price! We want to attend your meet-and-greet!” The staff member responsible for ticket sales scowled, unable to stop the group’s outburst. In the end, the staff member called her superior. “What happened, Alisa?” Blocking her expression with a pair of sunglasses, Taylor waved at the fans while asking her agent. The agent got off the phone and replied, “These fans aren’t pleased that the ticket price has been raised to 20 grand. Why don’t y

“I’m sure all of you are Taylor’s true fans. “Taylor’s career has just taken off. If you like her work, please support her. Every bit helps her climb the showbiz ladder.“That’s all I have to say. We are grateful to all supporting fans. “It’s fine if you don’t want to show any support. Please leave now before we call the cops for causing a disturbance.” Alisa then walked away without hesitation. The fans were dumbfounded. The circumstances remained unchanged. In the end, it was pointless protesting about the price increase. A handful of fans paid 20 thousand dollars for a ticket and walked into the hotel as the other fans watched on enviously. “Hey, don’t you want to attend Taylor’s meet-and-greet?” Terry said with a smile. “Duh, Terry, but we don’t have the money. The organizer is just fishing for more cash.” “Money is no issue.” Terry whipped out a credit card and handed it over to the staff member. He said with great generosity, “I’ll pay for everybody’s ticke

“Taylor’s agent and the organizer hiked up the price. It has nothing to do with Taylor.“She’s the best to us fans. Taylor is kind. I bet she’ll be mad to know about this.” Despite feeling down, Rose defended Taylor. Kaze shook his head. Even though he did not know much about showbiz, he knew celebrities would assume a persona in public. The celebrities only showed the public what they wanted the public to see. There was no telling how these celebrities would behave in private. Rose seemed oblivious to that fact, though. She was too deep in her fandom. Kaze said, “I can take you into the hotel if you want to attend the meet-and-greet, Rose.” “Really, Kaze? Do you have enough for the tickets?” Rose asked excitedly. Kaze shook her head. “We’re not getting the tickets. What’s the point of meeting Taylor with a large group of people? I will get you a private meeting with her. At least you get to see her true colors.” He did not want to hear Rose talking about the woman

She heard Kaze on the phone, offering 100 million dollars to Taylor to meet with them in private. Here Rose thought that Kaze was bragging again. However, the general manager of Dynasty Hotel tended to him. Rose could not find any other explanation for the general manager’s behavior. “I thought she was here to see you since you are eager to meet her.” Kaze added with a smile, “I just wanted to chat with her about one thing.” “Mr. Lee, Ms. Oceanid, we have arrived at Emperor Hall.” With the elevator stopping, Lincoln announced. “Wow!” Rose’s jaw dropped when she stepped into the venue. She was dazzled by Emperor Hall’s lavish

The incident did not sit well with Kaze, so he left them out to dry. After much searching, Kaze came across a café. Kaze bought a cup of coffee. Cupping the drink between his hands, Kaze sipped slowly. Many passengers swarmed the arrival hall in the airport, dragging along their luggage or pulling out their phones to get a pick-up. They all had a destination, a place they had to be in a rush. Intrigued, Kaze followed the crowd out. Kaze turned on his phone, and a text message from his airport pick-up came in. He glanced at the message, curious about who the person was. Nevertheless, Kaze trusted that the Westeros Branch members would not set him up out in the open. At most, they would pull little stunts to mess with him. Kaze was not the type to sweat the small stuff. However, he would not tolerate any extreme behavior. He had been keeping a low profile back in Butterworth, keeping the limelight off him. The purpose was to handle Jet without unnecessary complicati

“Alright. I will work hard to be the manager of the Northborn Group. You need to show me the ropes and teach me about management.” Leah looked at Katie with a smile. She believed Katie had not lost her mind. Katie simply had her memory mixed up. “You need to keep your people in line and reward those who deserve it. It all boils down to profits. “You need to work toward managing your people and working with rivals. You’ve got to keep the balance, and nobody loses out. “You need to build your own system when it comes to working together. Don’t be led around by the nose.” Hearing that Leah would start work soon, Katie imparted her knowledge. “Don’t worry too much about things. Joey is nice. You can go to her for help,” Katie said earnestly. Katie seemed to be herself at the moment. Leah wondered if Katie faked her insanity to escape the punishment. “What have become of you? Did they do something to you? “Did you really betray Kaze?” Leah whispered while leaning close

Leah kept working on her knowledge until late into the night. Just as she was about to hit the sack, she got a message from Snow. Learning was a hard enough process. The text message came out of the blue. Leah did not expect Snow to contact her at night. The message was strange as well. Leah could not understand why Snow would give her the address of a nursing home. Leah was determined to turn things around. She strived to become stronger instead of being a burden. She was grateful for Kaze’s help. At least, she had a job now. However, her gratitude was not extended to Snow. She believed Snow had gone too far. Snow left her feeling powerless. Leah did not think much about the message. She assumed that the text was not meant for her. Since Leah did not respond to the text, Snow put the matter aside and went to bed. Leah called Snow the next day. “Why did you send me an address?” Leah went straight to the question. She had been equipping herself with knowledge before

Snow could not believe her eyes. Katie suddenly went quiet and behaved like the CEO she was. However, Katie did not look like she was right in the mind earlier. “What’s going on? She seems to have gone insane.” Snow turned to the warden, still digesting the change. Katie had lost touch with reality before the Viper’s Den did anything to her. “How did this happen? She has been taking her meals. Just days earlier, she nagged about getting out because she was worried about her daughter. As usual, we didn’t respond to her requests.” The warden found the whole thing peculiar too. Just a few days ago, Katie demanded her release. Now, she kept to herself and abided by the rules. Out of the blue, Katie went nuts. Things had gotten complicated. Snow wanted to keep Katie behind bars due to her betrayal. However, Kaze decided against pursuing the matter for Leah’s sake. Katie would be let go soon enough, but she would lose her job at the Northborn Group. Katie’s presence woul

It was quiet in the office. Snow sorted the last bit of paperwork before picking her head up in exhaustion. Her initial plan was to delegate the tasks. However, Katie was controlling. Previously, she personally oversaw many matters. Snow could not distribute the responsibilities because the employees had no experience in handling them. They came to Snow for every tiny, little thing, and Snow really got her hands full. Despite her frustration, Snow could let things go as Katie was locked up. “I should pay her visit.” Snow decided to see Katie. Some things should not be left unsaid. Leah would be working for the Northborn Group soon, and the mother and daughter should meet to tie up loose ends. The truth would put Leah to shame, and her guilt would stop her from ever betraying Kaze. After a quick bite, Snow drove to the prison. Katie was furious when she was imprisoned. She was one step away from victory. She was so close to leaving Butterworth to head to Westeros

“Why do you want to sell the properties? Do you need money? Don’t you have some saved?” Joey had a good understanding of Leah’s finances since she ran all the paperwork. “My mother is being held, and I need money to ask favors. Maybe I can get her out.” Leah was not thinking much. Money could always be replaced, but not her mother’s freedom. “Don’t be silly. This is not the way to go.” Though Joey did not have the details, she observed that things were not as simple as Leah thought. Kaze was safe now, but the fact that Katie had betrayed Kaze and revealed his whereabouts remained unchanged. Katie had broken the Viper’s Den’s rules. Even if she got out, she would be a wreck. With Snow running the Northborn Group, Katie would remain a failure. Either way, Katie would not get away with it. Even if Leah offered all her assets, Katie’s situation would not change. It was a waste of money and resources for Leah to save her mother. Nothing would come out of it. “But I

“Give me an answer. Are you taking the job? If you are, you should sort out your affairs. Don’t bring your personal feelings to work.” Snow was not the type to go easy on fragile women. If Leah did not have what it took, she could be forced to leave the company. Nevertheless, Katie had left a lot of assets to Leah. Even without work, Leah could very well survive. The girl would have trouble keeping the wealth, seeing that she was without power or connections. If Leah had a job, she would have the resources to hold onto her assets. Leah had seen the best and worst of mankind. She was once the center of attention, and now, everybody avoided her. It dawned on Leah that it was over for Katie. If Leah could not even keep a job, she would lose everything. “I didn’t know things would happen.” Leah never thought that Katie was capable of stabbing Kaze and her in the back. The thought of betrayal put Leah in distress. Kaze was a great guy who helped Leah a lot. Feeling ete

Leah got dressed and was ready to leave, but she did not know who to turn to. She thought about going to her wealthy friends to see if they could uncover anything through their connections. However, Leah could not get a hold of them. It dawned on Leah that loyalty would fade when power was gone. Even though Katie was just missing, intel spread around Butterworth very quickly. These people must have found out and have chosen to stay away. Leah had always been treated like royalty. Nobody had ever avoided her like the plague. Nevertheless, she had not been in touch with these friends since her injury. Now, in her attempt to contact them, she could not reach them. “Why is this happening? My good friends have gone MIA, and I’m getting silence from those who have been trying to connect.” Sitting on the couch, Leah looked out the window in despair. She tried to seek help with her mother’s search, but her efforts were futile. She could do nothing for her mother. All al

“I have to work hard starting today. But before that, I have to get some sleep.” Snow remembered that Kaze punished her to get some sleep. Yet she understood not all things were meant to be. After she returned home, she went to sleep immediately without talking to anyone. She only woke up in the afternoon after a comfortable and easy sleep. Next, she would have to work on many things, first being taking over Northborn Group. Katie’s disappearance had the company shaken, but it gave many others a chance. They tried to calm their subordinates down and contact the higher-ups for more information, hoping that they could replace Katie as the new CEO.
