LOGINAiden’s POV.
It didn’t even take five minutes before the room exploded into chaos. My father’s voice was the first to rise. “He’s not staying here,” he said, pointing toward the woman like she carried a disease. “Find another place for your son.” Her face twisted in disbelief. “Excuse me? We already paid for this room. I have the receipt. My son has every right to stay here.” “You’ll get a refund,” my father barked. “But he’s not sharing a room with my son. Over my dead body.” “Your problem isn’t my concern,” she snapped back. “This dorm was assigned through the school. You can’t just change it because of your ridiculous pride.” “Ridiculous?” My father laughed bitterly. “You think I’ll allow my son to live under the same roof as your child? Never.” My mother tugged at his sleeve. “Please, calm down—” He shook her off. “No. I won’t calm down. Not when it’s her.” The woman folded her arms. “You’ve been the same arrogant man since the first day we met. Nothing’s changed. Still acting like you own everything.” “And you’re still shameless,” he said. “You probably begged the Dean for this room just to annoy me.” She stepped forward, her tone sharp. “Don’t flatter yourself. My son deserves the best, and this dorm is the best.” I stood there in the middle of it all, wishing the floor would swallow me. I didn’t want her son here either. Whoever he was, he was already trouble just by being hers. And if my father hated them this much, he was going to make my life hell watching every move I made. The shouting drew attention. A crowd formed at the door, whispers spreading fast. Then one of the resident assistants hurried in, looking pale. “Please, everyone calm down! The Dean’s on his way!” Oh, wonderful. I was wondering who my father was calling a few minutes ago. My dad was one of the parents that didn't hesitate to give money to the school— so it was pretty easy to get almost anyone to come over. “Oh, wonderful,” the woman said sarcastically. “Maybe he can talk some sense into your husband.” “The only one who needs some sense is you,” my step mom snapped back. When the Dean finally arrived, he looked exhausted, like he’d already dealt with a hundred parents that day. “What’s going on here?” he asked, rubbing his temples. Before anyone else could speak, my father started. “Dean, I’m telling you right now, her son is not staying with my boy. We’ll pay for another room, just move him somewhere else.” The Dean sighed. “Mr. Miller, I understand your frustration, but we don’t have any spare rooms left. The dorms are full. Both students were assigned here according to policy.” The woman held up her phone. “You see? I told you we paid in full.” The Dean nodded. “Yes, Mrs. Lee, I’ve confirmed the payment. I’m afraid there’s no alternative.” My father stepped closer. “Then find one. We’re not sharing a room with them.” “I’m sorry, sir,” the Dean said, his tone firm now. “The only temporary solution is that your son and hers share this room until another opens up.” “That’s not happening,” my father said coldly. The Dean’s patience cracked. “Then your son can choose to live off campus, Mr. Miller. But as far as the university is concerned, this is the arrangement.” My father froze. “Off campus? Absolutely not. You know what kind of students live out there? Party kids, drug users, delinquents.” “Then this is your only option,” the Dean replied, clearly done with the discussion. My father’s face went red. “Unbelievable.” “Welcome to college life,” Mrs. Lee said with a satisfied smile. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, my son’s waiting outside.” “Don’t you dare—” my father started, but she was already gone. The Dean adjusted his tie. “Mr. Miller, I suggest you calm down. This is only temporary. A week at most. Please keep things civil.” Then he left too, leaving the room thick with tension. My step mom tried to smooth things over. “Honey, maybe it’s just for a few days. Let’s not make it worse.” He turned to me, his jaw tight. “You heard the man. Stay away from that boy. Don’t speak to him, don’t get involved in anything he does. Understood?” I nodded slowly. “It’s just for a week, Dad. I’ll survive.” He frowned. “You’d better. I don’t want any of his bad influence rubbing off on you.” I forced a smile. “Relax. I’ll keep my distance. It’s just a roommate, not a disease.” “Good,” he muttered. “We’ll come by later in the week to check on things.” “Great,” I said under my breath, pretending to sound grateful. The last thing I needed was my father hovering around campus. My parents kept staring at the door like wolves waiting for the sacrificial lamb to walk in. I didn't have the strength for another fight, so I decided to go back to my room and get some sleep. I sat on my bed, running a hand through my hair. I didn’t even know this guy yet, but something in my gut said he was going to be trouble. A few minutes passed before the door opened again. Mrs. Lee walked in, heels clicking against the floor. “Aiden!” My father screamed. I rolled my eyes and walked back to the center room. This guy wasn't even here and my father was already up my ass. “Well,” she said, dusting her hands, “This will be fun.” I tried not to look annoyed. “You are going to regret this,” my father growled. Mrs. Lee flipped her hair with a proud smile. “Trust me, I already regret this more than you do.” My father turned to me with a glare as if I was the one that pissed him off. “Anyway, let’s not dwell. My son’s coming in with the rest of his things,” she added, making way. “I see,” I muttered. “Lucky me.” Finally a young man in a black — from top to bottom— walked in. “Thanks mama,” he muttered. “Well, meet my son, Ryder,” she introduced. I looked up, ready to meet whoever was about to make my life harder. And my heart nearly stopped. He froze too, eyes widening as they met mine. The same man I never expected in a million years to see again was standing in front of me. “Oh,” he said softly, almost smiling. “It’s you.” I couldn’t move or speak. The universe had just decided to ruin me all over again. My new roommate was Ryder. The man at the club.AIDEN'S POV. I couldn't contain my excitement. This fake relationship was an opportunity for me to completely destroy the chance of Peter ever getting back with Daniel. And it was also an opportunity to finally confess my feelings to him. “Feeling good about today,” Ryder teased. “You and your lover are going to spend some quality time together.” He paused as if remembering something serious. “Oh, I almost forgot, gay people are broken so you might try to fix him.”I walked over to him, my fists clenched so tightly that I could have sworn I heard my bones crack. “What's your problem?” I growled. God forbid I make one angry statement. But I really shouldn't have said that. Right? He closed the gap between us, staring deep into my soul. I wanted to move back but my legs were frozen to the ground. “You know exactly what my problem is,” he replied coldly. Peter walked out of the bathroom, but froze, seeing us standing so close together. “If Aiden was gay, I'd have sworn there is so
AUTHOR’S POV. Aiden’s living room was messy but warm.Empty soda cans were on the table. A big box of pizza sat open in the middle. The smell of cheese filled the air. The TV was on but no one was watching it.They were all sitting on the floor. Peter sat between Riss and Ava. Ava was almost glued to him. She had one arm around his shoulder like she was protecting him from the world.“You don’t deserve that idiot,” Ava muttered, biting into her pizza. “Daniel is trash.”Peter sighed. “Can you not?”“No, I cannot,” Ava snapped. “He cheated on you. I am allowed to curse him.”Peter rubbed his face. “Ava, please. I’m already tired.”Riss leaned back against the couch. “She’s been cursing him for the past hour. I’m surprised Daniel hasn’t felt it spiritually.”Ava glared at him. “This isn’t funny.”“I didn’t say it was funny,” Riss replied calmly. “I’m just saying Peter said he’s fine.”Peter nodded. “I am. I’m happy I’m here. With my friends. And my favourite cousin.” He bumped Ava ligh
RYDER’S POV. My phone started ringing the moment I stepped out of class.I checked the screen. It was my Mom.I sighed softly and answered. “Hello, Mom.”“Ryder!” she said happily. “How are you? How was your class?”“It was fine,” I said, walking down the hallway. “Boring as always. The professor talks too much.”She sighed. “Tell me about it.”I forced a smile, causally waving at a classmate. “Bye,” I whispered. “Good. Are you eating well?” she asked.“It’s only been a month,” I said. “I’m not dying.”“You sound thinner,” she said.“You can’t hear thinness through a phone.”“A mother can,” she replied.I smiled a little.“How is college?” she asked again.“It’s fine.”“And Aiden Miller?” she said, her voice filled with disdain. I rolled my eyes even though she couldn’t see me. “I’m going to survive him too.”“He's just like his father, isn't he? A dull asshole with a butt shaped head and a tiny prick,” she insulted. “Woah! Chill out, mum.”“I just hate the Millers.”Same here. T
AIDEN’S POV. “What are you doing here?” I asked, still holding the blanket tight to my chest.Ryder brows furrowed. “What do you mean?” he asked. “This is my room. And that is my bed.”I blinked. My brain felt slow, like it was still asleep.“Your bed?” I repeated.Oh, I was a dumb fuck. I slowly got up from the floor and wiped my forehead with my hand.“Don’t ever do that again,” I said.“Do what?” Ryder asked, still smiling.“Kiss my forehead.”He laughed louder this time. “Oh relax,” he said. “You looked cute. I couldn’t help it. You almost remind me of the time you slept on my bed at the club.”I glared at him. “Shut your cunt up,” I said through gritted teeth, my fists clenched. “The next time you do that, I swear I'll kill you.”“Okay, okay,” he said, raising his hands. “You’re so dramatic in the morning.”Right then, the door opened and Peter walked in.He looked fresh, like he had just washed his face. His hair was still a little messy.“Good morning,” he said softly.“Morni
AIDEN’S POV.I felt something soften inside me the moment Peter said that. I could proudly use the phrase “butterflies exploded in my belly”Those might sound so little to others, but to me? It felt like the whole. “Come in,” I said quietly, stepping aside. “It’s fine.”He walked in slowly, like he was scared I might change my mind. I closed the door behind him and turned to face him.“I'm sorry for disturbing whatever it was…”I cut him off. “It's fine. We were not doing anything important.”“You should have at least knocked,” Ryder frowned, folding his hands on his chest like a worked up cock. I slowly turned to him with a glare. “What does that mean?”“It means he should have knocked before coming in,” Ryder repeated, locking eyes with me. I wanted to give him a befitting response, but Peter stopped me. “You're right,” he nodded in agreement. “It's just old habits, I guess.”Ryder forced a quick smile and then looked away. My fists clenched so tightly. I wanted to walk over to
AIDEN’S POV.I sat there, frozen, while Ryder pulled back from Peter and laughed like nothing had happened. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, smiling wide, like he’d just won something. The room was quiet for a second — too quiet. Then his phone beeped. Ryder looked down at it, his smile fading just a little. He checked the screen, typed something fast, then stood up.“Duty calls,” he said lightly. “I’ve got something important to handle.”Ava groaned. “You’re leaving already?”“Yeah,” he replied. “Rain check.”He grabbed his jacket, turned to me with a proud smile, before walking out. Oh, the urge to punch that smug face in front of everyone. He knew Peter was taken, yet he kissed him. He knew I liked Peter a lot — that didn't stop him either. I sat still, my hands clenched on my knees, my heart still beating too fast as I watched Peter instead. He was smiling. That made my stomach twist. How could he smile when Ryder kissed him? Does he know who Ryder is? I don't, but
